  1. I’d guess it’s that we were denied the opportunity. I can’t see us being offered such and refusing.
  2. The Club did get an allocation, and of that a number of tickets were allotted for the Demon Army. Clearly not enough though. I’m sure the Club will be successful in getting them there, it’s just that it should never have come to this. It does seem as though we are taking it all a bit too casually, but I think that’s from the point of view of us fans. On Saturday Kate Roffey, when the subject of potential injuries due to the turf not being ready and the possibility of ensuing lawsuits, was heard to say quite emphatically that she’s “ready for it.” She’s extremely p*ssed off about the venue choice, just as much as we are.
  3. As I mentioned in the other GF thread, Luci, there’s cheer squad members who’ve missed out on tickets. And that’s despite having AFLW as well as Demon Army membership. Their crime? Not logging on within a nanosecond of the tickets becoming available. They’ve booked flights and accommodation, too. Our Club will likely sort something out for them as there’s only a few affected. Point being, this should never have been an issue in the first place.
  4. You’re entitled to rant, Docs D. This is a totally rant-worthy issue. This is how ridiculous it is: there’s cheer squad members who’ve missed out on tickets despite having AFLW and Demon Army membership along with their MFC membership. These are people who are totally invested in the AFLW and haven’t missed a match to date. The Club is currently trying to sort something out for them. But this shouldn’t be an issue, and wouldn’t be an issue had an appropriate venue been selected.
  5. Idk about this evening, Kev. But defs Thursday at Gosch’s at 5:30pm
  6. Thursday at 5:30pm at Gosch’s. We’ll be putting on the obligatory BBQ 😁
  7. Thanks for posting that and yeah defs huge similarities there. It’s beside the point but how bloody good is Sam Kerr?! She’s phenomenal.
  8. I watched the replay last night and the cameras didn’t capture the half of it. It was the craziest wind in that it’d spring up from nowhere, from relatively still to gale force in a heartbeat. All the while unpredictably changing direction. We had a Giant Head Code Red Emergency just before the match started. A sudden gust picked up some of them and sent them sailing through the air. Giant Lil Mithen Head almost left the stand!
  9. I’m glad you didn’t see it! What’s more I hope NOBODY saw it. 😁 Although I don’t know how anyone could have seen it since I was literally engulfed, buried under the very letters I so lovingly stuck on couple of days before. (Dramatic much?) It’s actually healing really well. But I’ll take that extra big hug on Thursday anyways. 🙂
  10. I really don’t have any choice. He’s like a particularly bad bout of shingles… never quite goes away.
  11. I mean breathing, period. As long as there’s a pulse, however faint it may be. This is Uncle Bitter we’re talking about; his bar is set so low he risks tripping over it.
  12. Geez you’re hanging with some real intelligent gals, huh uncle?!
  13. Metricon unavailable because already booked for concerts and a festival etc. Springfield has a capacity of 8000 (only 600 in the grandstand) which would be inadequate if it was here (in Melb). But since it’s up whoop whoop they’ll be lucky to get 5000 imho. So from the point of view of the AFL, it’s perfect. 🙄 🤷‍♀️

  15. Not 100% sure on this but most likely it’s AFLW members. Probably up to 10 tickets per AFLW barcode. My Demon Army BFF is quite confident it won’t be a sell-out and she knows about these things just like she knows anything and everything AFLW and AFL. 🙂 The capacity is 8000. Our match yesterday drew under 6000 (two Vic. teams). Bris vs. Adel PF drew 2553. So it’s safe to say it won’t sell out.
  16. You’re SO insensitive!!! It could’ve been so much worse though: while being dragged along, I could hear Duxy (everyone knows Duxy, cheer squad royalty) yelling out “where’s WCW? She was right in front of me a minute ago!” I knew it wouldn't be long before he tripped on crepe-wrapped me and had he landed on me I might not be here to tell the tale. For those who don’t know Duxy… let’s just say he weighs significantly more than me. 😬
  17. Awww, that’s so sweet of you. Thank you, PD 💕 Unfortunately I won’t be able to make the trip to QLD. I’m absolutely gutted. Had the GF been scheduled for here in Melbourne I’d be there with bells on, but since they’ve settled on Springfield it’s just not possible. For starters, the airfare doubled overnight. It sucks, but that’s life. I’ll definitely be at banner-making this week though so I’ll feel a part of it in that respect I guess. Again, thank you for your kind sentiments. ❤️💙🥰
  18. Enjoy the match next Sunday, Brownie! Cheer extra loud for those of us who would dearly love to be there, but can’t (cheers Gil). GO DEES!!!!! ❤️💙
  19. Thanks Kev. 💕 the girls winning through to the grannie eased the pain. Oh and the wine’s doing not too shabby a job at that too. 🙃
  20. Just a quick injury report, don’t worry, not any of our players, just a clumsy cheer squad member who got tangled up in the multitudes of crepe paper while helping to carry the banner (with [censored] heavy poles still attached) off the field. She went down and the big burly comrades up front didn’t realise she was entangled and just kept running. She sprained her ankle quiet badly. Yeah ok, it was me. 🙄 I sucked it up and carried on, though. But the adrenaline wore off ages ago and now I’m sporting an ankle that looks like a grade three’s science project. All good though since I have wine! And wine fixes everything. 😁 Future me is gonna hate present-day me. 😬
  21. You should’ve seen the QF vs the Crows! Apart from the first quarter of course, we were scintillating to watch. Best we’ve played all season.
  22. Jesse Wardlaw is a force to reckoned with. When she’s firing there’s seemingly no stopping her.
  23. It was fever pitch in the last, especially when we comfortably knew we were going through. Thank you for acknowledging. 💕 As someone said on here earlier it was embarrassing that North supporters outnumbered our supporters, but their cheer squad was no match for ours!
