Ed Langdon Re-Signs Until 2028
Not quite sure what you are getting at. That is one example. Daw, Dunstan, Schache, Brown, Brown to name a few have been the depth players I am talking about. Sometimes it's ok to critically analyse the clubs list management choices. The predictable fury that you and WCW have whenever someone slightly questions the list, strategies or players output over the journey is nauseating. It's ok to love the club and still question its strategy and directions in a mature way. The Ben Brown argument is done to death. Yes he is an immortal and for that he will always be a legend of the club but it would be good if we can still discuss his overall output over the 4 years without the usual suspects throwing shallow guilt trip arguments around. WCW we all know how much you love the boys. I ask you kindly to step back and let others discuss the club and players at times without ramming your nose in it and being the holier than thou protector of all. It is shallow and a touch odd.

Ed Langdon Re-Signs Until 2028
I am not comparing to Langdon. He deserves 4 years and is a fantastic player. Just the depth argument and not treading carefully when signing players to 4 years. Due diligence is always necessary even if it is for depth. Signing any player long term for future depth is fraught with danger and will almost always end up as we are now.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Western Bulldogs
After an intense and draining style of footy over the 3 years preceding the players are physically wrecked and looked emotionally worn. If the team kicked straight last year every chance Goody is a 2 time flag coach. The lack of loyalty and trust in Goodwin is a bit galling. Max, Oliver, Viney, Petty all look 25% fit and no Trac and Salem. Brayshaw is a bigger loss than most of us probably thought. Thats the issue. Goodwin is a good coach, a premiership coach and more than deserves the opportunity to pivot and reset. List management is the issue. We have brought second hand duds in and somehow having Schace, Tomlinson, Fullerton and BBrown is a major liability. Thats the angle I would be looking at.

binman’s rant (Goody defence)
A few posters wanted Viney gone and Free Agent'ed to Geelong a few years back. Same goes for now with Clayton. He is top end MFC Royalty and needs to be treated like that. We need to stick strong with him. Not trade him out.

Oscar Allan
I still can't believe Peter Matera signed a Heads of Agreement to play for us. He changed his mind a couple of days later but he was in his prime at the time. Would have been the best recruit of all time for us (until S.May) and he was W.A born and bred. So I am using that as hope. A 30 years ago "almost trade" from WC.

Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
Lazy defensively. Yes for that 5-10% of his career at the Dees when he was on point, he was amazing. Other than that he definitely was never fit enough and didnt seemed to have the desire to become Trac, Viney or Clayton like in his pre season preparations.

Just beat North and get back on track
This is our "Luke Jackson" pick down year.

Cale Morton
And Dusty would have been handy before $cully or Trengove, who even at his fittest still looked a tad slow. The Dusty and Max draft would have been epic.

Welcome to Demonland Kyah Farris-White
Am I jumping to conclusions by anticipating that this is another "Jimmy to Prahran and back" situation evolving front of our eyes.

Best Recruits from Other Clubs
This is or best recruit fro another club ever. For skills, toughness, leadership and for never playing a bad game. The man is an all timer. This gets lost. B. Lovett was vey good an J. White was super talented, deterined and successful. But, as the best recruit fro another club. Surely its a 1 horse field?

Bye weekend - watching 1987 finals
87 was the best, unexpected. The VFL park members section was going off. Great night, great time to be a Dee.

Bye weekend - watching 1987 finals
David Williams seemed to always be taking marks on the boundary line where the % chance of a goal was lower. Quick off the mark and good hands. Got delisted due to ACL and after expecting to be re-drafted in pre season draft (1990 I think) and Richmond picked him up, we were not prepared. Photo in HS the next day was Williams looking sad and players, in particular Todd V, around him with huge smiles. An odd situation.

What they are saying up in Vulture Street
I am well aware your nutshell. I didn't understand this "When they became the bears, my mate couldn't support them, so became a dees fan. A fully committed, passionate one too. I saw heaps of games with him. But when they became the Brisbane lions, which they should have done from the get go, he felt compelled to support them" Fitzroy to Brisbane Bears was always Brisbane Lions from the start.

Didnt the Fitzroy and Bris Bears merge into Brisbane Lions from the get go?

What they are saying up in Vulture Street
1996 was a horrible year. Every single know it all from ernie sigley to Neil Mitchell and all the sycophantic football media were adamant that teams needed to merge for the game simply would not survive. TV shows where panels were set up to discuss and decide which team should merge and it was universally agreed by paid morons that the game just could not continue with that many clubs and Victoria. People spoke owith such Authority and if you did even contemplate or discuss the fact that the merger is a bad idea you were outcast as someone who had no sense of financial viability. Classic media cohesion propaganda. I mean even ian Ridley and Mike Sheehan were sucked in and seduced. Bill Guest ... dont even get me started. I was at the merger meeting and 95% of the people there were vehemently against the merger I could not believe that the vote got up. That in itself just showed how lost or how disconnected the game was from the real fans. How did that work? That was the era when money did try to rule everyone and everything but the people power from footscray, hawthorn, Melbourne and others stood strong and that was a beautiful thing to see. Some of these people who were so confident in the economics and demanded for us to understand what we needed are now long passed on. Their grandkids are no doubt dees supporters and loving this era. The game is in a much better State than what it was back then, the sad thing is Fitzroy could have continued in Melbourne in some form No Doubt. Pretty simple economics, keep the admission fee down to a reasonable price for everyone to access, make the stadiums work financially, keep the game clean and sponsorship will come. The game is too good to fail and has been for too long. I'm just glad people power won other moron power. Thank you Brian Dixon, thank you Joseph Gutnick. Thank you Robbie. Big time. RDB thanks but the flip to the no merger side was far too last minute. But still the 2nd greatest Demon of all time. Clarry first. 1996 Anis horribilius. But we won..... by default. "Paid experts come and go but generations of fans dont. I still feel ill about seeing the Fitzroy crew at the last game. That is sad. 2021 says thanks to the people power.
