  1. This one will be a bit easier than the last. What links this team? B: Neville Jetta Steven Smith Earl Spalding HB: Brett Lovett Gary Hardeman Jack Grimes C: Stephen Tingay Glenn Lovett Paul Hopgood HF: Adem Yze David Schwarz Russell Robertson F: Max Gawn David Neitz Sean Charles Foll: Jim Stynes Gerard Healy James McDonald INT: Peter Moore Liam Jurrah Graeme Yeats James Harmes
  2. Congratulations to @Mazer Rackham who has taken out third place behind @mo64 and @tilly18. Honorable mention to @WalkingCivilWar. B: Warren Ayres Michael "Squizzy" Taylor John Shaw HB: Peter Young Travis Dean Matt Short C: Slug Jordon Graham Matthews Michael Hill HF: Garry Watts Geoff Richardson Darren Berry F: Grant Gardiner Peter Roach Peter Bedford Foll: Jon Moss John Ellis Ian Harvey INT: John Anderson Michael Quinn Laurie Harper Geoff Parker All represented Victoria in cricket. All made at least one century for Victoria. None played Test cricket.
  3. Still a few in contention. Perhaps this will help. The cricketer is Jonathon Moss, not Jeff Moss. Jeff Moss is over qualified. If I were as talented a wordsmith as @Demonstone I would have manufactured a clue along the lines of "a Rolling Stone gathers no Moss" but I'm not so I won't.
  4. Those still playing the quiz are now all on the same page so I can reveal that all surnames have represented Victoria in cricket. The clues to this link were Tony Jewell as a relatively easy choice as coach (his son Nick played cricket for the Vics) and the selection changes which meant the 22 footballers all played for a Victorian team at some point in their careers. Still two other facts to link the names.
  5. In a bid to move this along a bit the selectors have swung the axe. IN: Harry Taylor, George Young, Jeff Berry and Leigh Matthews. OUT: Sam Taylor, Hayden Young, Jarrod Berry and Ben Matthews. That now gives the 22 footballers some common territory.
  6. Welcome to Day 3 of the quiz and a sporting gesture. If recent history is any indication this should all be done and dusted today.
  7. While the protagonists for the podium ponder the last link @tilly18 has done a Bradbury and come from nowhere, although in this instance the colour is silver and not gold. Well played.
  8. I can elaborate on the previous clue. Tony Jewell was a relatively easy choice as coach. Jamie Elliott is another who is over qualified. Two posters are sitting on two out of three but do have all three between them (no clue there, just a teaser for the two chasing second place). Answer to be revealed this afternoon as I'll be offline for a few hours.
  9. Because you asked nicely... Tony Jewell is the coach. Luke Hodge and Nathan Jones are over qualified and therefore ineligible for selection.
  10. Two posters are quite close. I'll let them go for a bit longer before the clues start.
  11. We have a winner. Very well played mo64.
  12. Someone is on to it but sorry WCW, it ain't you.
  13. Not too ground breaking. Get the first and the others will follow (and no, that is not a cryptic clue!).
  14. With apologies to the Quizmaster Guru Demonstone, this may fill in a few minutes between training reports. Three parts to the answer of what links this team. B: Garry Ayres Sam Taylor Heath Shaw HB: Hayden Young Peter Dean Jayden Short C: James Jordon Ben Matthews Brad Hill HF: Jack Watts Matthew Richardson Jarrod Berry F: Michael Gardiner Michael Roach Toby Bedford Foll: Graham Moss Brandon Ellis Brent Harvey INT: Jed Anderson Michael Quinn Kieran Harper Matt Parker Please DM your answers.
  15. I think the eligible Greg Sizer played his whole career on the wing?
  16. Dunkley won't be there next year for this very reason.
  17. I heard the same from a very good source this morning Dazzle. Positive that Dusty won't be at Punt Rd. next year. Mail is usually on the money, I suppose we just have to wait and see.
  18. Wright for Melksham - if we go back to playing two talls, Merrett for Sparrow, Parish for Jordon. Take Draper for ruck depth. Who are your five at North QD?
  19. Whether Rutten can coach or not doesn't in any way excuse their behaviour this week. People management clearly not a top priority at the Bombers. They happily threw Mark Neeld under the bus in the middle of 2018 to protect their own. I hope they continue to rot for a long time.
  20. Bingo! Xavier Campbell needs to go too. Perhaps they should appoint Malthouse. He obviously rates the list or he wouldn't have tipped them to win the flag this year.
  21. Yep. Neale is the only one I'd want if I was a Brisbane fan. Maybe Marcus Adams if they're looking at someone from left field? Just a guess though, I really know SFA about his leadership qualities.
