This goal is coming as a result of Tholstrup double grabbing at a ball again..that’s what my earlier post was referring to. As a high draft pick, I think I had high expectations for this kid. So far, he looks off the pace..not sure what those who think he should be in the seniors are seeing.

It’s 23 scoring shots to 10. It’s been a domination. There has been barely any clean play from Casey. The ball use off half back and lack of midfield presence is alarming

I’m actually not. Haven’t seen anything that impresses in either his brief pre season showings or this Casey game. Looks unsure with the ball and fumbly. I’d be very happy to be wrong, but not seeing signs that he was worth pick 13. It was a surprise that he bolted in the draft. As I said, very much hope he stars and he has plenty of time to improve.

Pick 13 for Tholstrup still remains a question mark for me. Does not seem to be impacting at this level at all

This is some of the worst disposal by foot I’ve ever seen from a Casey side. Absolutely atrocious. Laurie and Tomlinson big contributors.

Adam Tomlinson has done himself no favours today. His disposal is awful. Just turned it over twice by foot in the space of 15 seconds

Laurie really needs to be delisted at the end of the year. His disposal is putrid. Will never make it as an afl player

When a team knows they have the other side absolutely cooked, they get lethargic and have a lapse. It was a methodical picking apart from a very good side.

First Australian stadium to have a Pizza Hut. That was a real highlight for me

I think it was a soft kick, but it’s a terrible look. In soccer, if you kick out at an opponent like that, it’s usually a straight red card. Missing the following week. It looks like another loophole that the AFL will close next year

Any links to the media criticism of crowd figures? I initially thought it was poor yesterday, until about half time, when it had filled up. Of course it looks bad on TV, as no one sits on the southern stand side at Melbourne games. If the broadcaster shot from the other side it would look far fuller.

Having just watched the replay, does anyone else think the Foxtel cameras look weird and blurry ? I thought the quality of the cameras were awful. It only looks good when it’s close up. Whatever they’ve tried to implement looks shocking for AFL

My Melbourne FC app popped up with a notification this morning, telling me how to access barcodes and acknowledging an issue. What a balls up. I am fortunate to be an MCC member and never use my MFC barcode for game day at the MCG. As such, I have 3 barcodes going unused today. If anyone needs them, DM me. My tickets are viewable via the MFC app after logging into my ticketmaster account

Another Laurie apologist…go watch his practice match against Carlton. Made several basic skill errors in a pratice game in front of 3,000 ppl. He is lost on the big stage and executes horribly under pressure. He is not AFL standard. Lacks height and size and has little physically to make up for it, unlike a Caleb Daniel. He won’t make it. He deserves nothing. The fact he was subbed so early shows that the coaching staff knew he was a complete liability

Interesting listening to Footy Classified (I know, I know) and both Cornes and Lloyd encouraging other teams to physically target Gawn. If I were Melbourne, I’d be phoning the AFL Umpires Department and putting them on notice. Thankfully, Gawn was the recipient of a few free kicks against Sydney, but probably deserved a fair fee more. Had his jumper held by Grundy all night. It is absolutely imperative that Gawn has teammates fly the flag for him this week. Petracca needs to lose the nice guy attitude and get some mongrel into him. Goes around helping opposition players up off the ground and pats on the back. Stuff that. Nice guys finish last in this game. Stand up for your captain. We all know Viney will, but there needs to be several others willing to get angry and physical.

If that’s the only changes you are suggesting, then we are no chance this weekend, leaves Spargo, Chandler and/or Laurie still in the side. If that’s the case, we are cooked

Disagree that we fluked a flag. We dominated the finals series and the majority of the season. We went 10-0 to start ‘22. That’s not fluking a premiership. 2022 we were banged up in the finals and fell away in both games. 2023 was disappointing ..but finished top 4. Again, evidence that we are a good football side. I wholly agree with your assessment of Spargo and Chandler though. Their games were absolutely pathetic. That’s a harsh word to use, but it is absolute truth. You can also add Laurie to this list.
