You kind of answered your own question. He isn’t a leader. He is a glory hunter. Enjoyed the glory period and now it’s all too hard and he doesn’t want to contribute to fixing it. His best mates ANB and Brayshaw are gone, the relationship with Clarry is strained, and Salem is almost done.

His family would love him to go to the Pies..before Demonland deletes my comment, the source is his father who fessed up at Crown Casino at about 2am after the Bluey Truscott about 5 years ago. Petracca is close with Moore, Daicos and Quaynor at the Pies. I think they’ll offer future picks (1sts and some junk they have on their list) and we will be forced to do the trade.

Christian Petracca
Having thought about this endlessly since the story broke, I have completely flipped my opinion. I reckon we need to trade him. There is no coming back from this. He has had days to make a statement and commit his allegiance to the club and he hasn’t said a thing. If he stays , it’s clearly against his will and will divide the playing group. The best course of action is to cash in for a 29 year old and build our future. It has to be a huge haul. Under no circumstances would I trade him to another rival Melbourne club, particularly Collingwood, who have nothing to give anyway. Trac has fractured the club’s image when it was at its most fragile. It’s really unforgivable. Allowed the circus to roll into our town and tear us apart in the media. What on earth led him to this, I’ll never know. Media running stories that Collingwood players cared more for him than our own. Gawn joking on radio tht he told him to “man up”. The Doctor sending him back on? The club’s 6-8 week post after the injury ? An inglorious way to exit your club Christian.

Finally someone mentions it! It’s all well and good to be frustrated, but we as supporters have been incredibly frustrated by Tracc’s inability to execute when kicking at goal. Has been his Achilles heal since day 1 and has only marginally improved.
-
Christian Petracca
Let’s say Tracc does indeed wish to leave..what gets the deal done? It’s have to be massive for the club to entertain it. No one is willing to give us much. We’d want picks and players.

Nonsense chat based on Morris’ info, which appears to be half-truths. No doubt Melbourne has work to do to get him back in the fold, but this is a drastic take

Tracc has broken his social media hiatus, posting a message about Nibbler

Christian Petracca
If Pert has put that letter out without sitting down and having a conversation with Tracc about the fact he is staying and committed to working it all out, and he does leave, Pert’s job is done.. he’d be out the door…no way he could come back from it. So, let’s hope he is a smart operator and we can all relax

Christian Petracca
And he is right: a full review needed. Keep Tracc and Oliver (if he fully commits to football and a massive preseason) and clear whoever else wants out. If the coaches need to go, the review will reveal it.
-
Christian Petracca
Well the statement is in. It says he isn’t leaving, but also says tht he has expressed frustrations. Tracc needs to talk
-
Christian Petracca
We don’t want the Club to confirm he won’t be traded, we hold the cards, that’s obvious. We want to know what the hell is going on that has made him unhappy, why this was leaked and what we are doing to right the ship. I’ll hold fire until I see what comes out, but it sounds like more tone deaf responses

What was your excuse?
Wouldn’t matter if we were winning. Even in our good seasons, the style of play and the ugly nature of our wins doesn’t appeal to anyone. Compare it to Hawthotn, who play completely free and attacking football, which has started to make them a side that is very watchable. No neutral would want to go to a Melbourne game. A boring system based game that is no longer relevant in 2024
-
What was your excuse?
Because our supporters don’t care for Saturday night games … it’s pretty obvious. We have an aging supporter base, yet to establish a new breed, and quite frankly Saturday nights are for TV. If you play a vidtorian team it’s a stock standard 40k

NON-MFC: Round 22
No chance. Michael Christian probably down in the rooms telling him what to say. Corrupt club and a corrupt league.

NON-MFC: Round 22
This is a boring game. The SCG dishes up terrible football matches and Sydney play a boring style.
