  1. Yes. I also made mention of the moment he gave up on a kick inside fifty from Oliver, which was over his head (not hard), and was busy shaking his head whilst Blakey bumbled the mark, but was able to take it on the second bite because there was no pressure. That is pathetic! Poor body language too. Enough to be dropped for mine
  2. I like to dissect the game. I’m still of the belief that it wasn’t as doomsday as people suggest. We had control in the 3rd. Failed to capitalise in the 1st. Some poor moments led to Sydney goals. Viney taking on three tackles and being pinged a prime example. We leaked goals for 6 minutes and the game was gone. It was the wrong time to allow it. There are major issues with the forwardline, but we are regaining soldiers in coming weeks. I think we have to keep that in mind. Schache should never play again though. That has to be the weakest game from a ‘big man’ as I’ve ever seen. Kozzie will play a role in the midfield and inside 50. The mosquito fleet of Laurie, Spargo and Chandler should never be seen in the same side again
  3. Just watched the replay of our game…well the 3rd quarter…how costly was Sparrow’s dropped mark inside 50 with 2 mins to 3/4 time. Would have tied the game or given us a shot to take the lead. It was a reasonably difficult mark to take, but he took his eyes off the ball. Likewise, how [censored] poor was Spargo when he gave up against the Lizard after Clarry banged in the first clearance of the 4th. Blakey actually juggled the mark, but Spargo had already given up.. had he not have, there was a spoil on and plenty of pressure coming. Little moments that prove costly
  4. Ben Brown would be 100 times more effective than Schache. The bloke had four touches. At least Brown’s height and reach troubles defenders and he has leading patterns. Doesn’t just stand still inside 50
  5. Agree with that. Definitely need some changes
  6. Can someone post a link to Goody presser? Can’t find it on the MFC or AFL app
  7. Great take. Very reminiscent of the Lions game. Our ins next week make us stronger. It’s 1 bloody game. There were 2 points in it at 3/4 time and we were a man down and heaps of rotations short after subbing early. Laurie will never play another senior game for the MFC.
  8. I’ve had numerous contrary reports from others there and the moisture was evident on players jumpers
  9. Pretty sure Alan Richardson said he was available for selection
  10. People need to relax! it’s round 1. This side is far from settled. The NQRs showed why they belong in the VFL - Schache, Laurie, Chandler and Spargo off the pace. secondly, the humid conditions did not suit our game style at all. We fumbled all night. We should adjust in the conditions, but we never do. Over handball. It doesn’t work in wet slippery conditions. Felt like the Essendon game last year. Oliver was literally drenched at the end of the game. Ben Brown, if fit, must come in for Schache.
  11. You won’t win a game with all of Laurie, Spargo, Chandler and a Schache in the side
  12. I’m still not sure the source of the love fest here for Laurie. He panics under any sort of pressure and makes poor decisions, often directly leading to turnover. Many examples in the practice match vs Carlton. It’s a real hot potato attitude. Must show something tomorrow if he is to feature in ‘24 regularly. I’m not convinced he is up to it, but the very best of luck to him
  13. Harmes having an impact in junk time
  14. Same old Bruzzy, always the victim. anyone going to post or read the vile stuff about Brayshaw online? Or Collingwood supporters cheering Maynard on for taking him out of the game. You are NOT innocent Maynard. The fact it was paid downfield as a free should end the debate. It was a late hit. Outside the rules.
  15. Tom Morris reported not until the mid season draft. We could elevate a roomie we already have on the list, but believe that is Melksham..so not much use..
  16. Thought a lot about what to post about this today. I could vent my lingering anger about Collingwood and Maynard..but it’s all very futile. This bloke will forever be remembered for his Grand Final heroics, his podcasts, his helmet, his guts, his sportsmanship, his head tilt, that [censored] goal! We love him dearly and this is an untimely end, but one we always knew we might have to deal with. You know what though, he climbed the highest mountain. He took us to the promise land. No thug act disguised as an accident, nor a corrupt league can take that away. I sincerely hope he stays involved at the club and would love to see him as a runner this year, and he should wear the bloody helmet!!
  17. That’s exactly what i was going to type after reading the OP. If Kozzie wishes to play on ball, he has to seriously stop the selfish Hollywood stuff and execute the basics. He wins the ball without any trouble, what comes next actually disadvantages the side and causes turnover. He needs to be composed in that part of the ground and develop spatial awareness. So often he gets himself in the clear but still rushes the disposal.
  18. Kozzie was playing Hollywood football. Twisting, turning, ducking and weaving, and then completely butchering his kicks. He actually became a liability and was extremely selfish. He needs to execute the basics
  19. I am and so I am not going to jump the gun, but the lack of elite foot skills in our group is a major concern. Huge in fact. We can dominate the play, as we did, and other sides just pressure us knowing that we will make mistakes and they can kick easy goals on turnovers. That’s the tale of today.
  20. How do we watch the next three 1/4s? Looks like fox is done
  21. Big prediction, but we look bottom 8. You can focus on who is not out there, but the foot skills are as bad as any side in the league
