Roo needs to kick off a step if within 20 metres. All in his head at the moment. Let’s hope he can add a couple in the last. Costing us % that we desperately need

@WalkingCivilWar getting some great air time on the TV coverage.

Can already tell you Buckley’s line: “It’s an extremely sensitive part of the chest. It just takes the wind right out of you. He wasn’t expecting contact. So, I’m happy with that…there’s nothing in that for mine”
-
Just a little postscript - the Club needs to call out BT and Hodge after they suggested Tholstrup should be cited for staging. An absolutely disgraceful and bias call from two morons in the media. Absolutely pathetic. 7News running it as a story on their main page. It was clearly a late hit. Taken by surprise. Had disposed of the ball. Zorko is a complete f..wit. If anything comes of it, challenge it. That goes on in every game, every weekend. [censored] me right off

Surprised by the negativity. Sure, we should have won, and we made some poor errors in the last. But, geez, up against it. A team of mostly kids. Inexperienced. Hostile environment. Insipid umpires all night. We can to a halt. Simple. the moment we really lost it was when AMW had the ball at half back, and didn’t know what to do. Had Viney screaming at it on the inside..but blasted it down the line. That’s just a kid in his first game. He’d done plenty of good things. Sadly, the inability to retain possession in that moment hurt and the tide turned. ANB should be disappointed in himself. He panicked under pressure. He should have handballed up the line along the deck. He had two men standing there. At worst it was going to go out of play, at best we actually would have taken possession and kicked it fifty metres back up the line. Hindsight is wonderful. we saw Oliver back to his almost best. Viney was in full beast mode. JVR was great at times. Kozzy lit it up. The game-style was back. Now f..king build on it Dees and smash West Coast at the G. We need to roll on and win a few and see where the season may land for us. We have been up against it since preseason. We aren’t done yet. We showed that tonight.

Which is ironic, because he is king of the unnecessary underground handball..this was the one time we needed it

Just play with that intensity, every week, no excuses. Wins will come.

Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
Kick_It_To_Pickett replied to pitmaster's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutely, I do. A decision driven by family and not himself entirely. It was a “there’s more to life than football” sentiment. Would not be surprised if he hangs them up. The nonsense of him going to Collingwood is complete [censored] though. Who makes that stuff up. What evidence? What would they have to give up to even satisfy that trade? -

Spot on. Demonland rules at their finest. You can’t post rumours if they risk litigation, even when true, but here’s this nonsense getting through the gate -
Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries

Listening to Tracc on 360, I doubt we will see him for quite some time. It’s very apparent, and understandable, that his fiancé was deeply traumatised by what happened. There is the whole ‘life after football’ tone to the way he spoke tonight. I think he has some big decisions ahead of him and a lot will be decided by his experiences during recovery. whilst he denied that family were upset at the club, he kind of said that they were in fact angry. I have heard this from other sources that aren’t in the media, but connected to football. He had the company line prepared, but when emotions took over, the narrative he delivered was slightly different. It’ll be an interesting watch. I wish him all the best in his recovery -
The video shows part of the problem. The commentary team dictate the narrative. They were very generous in the assessment of the Daicos. Far less so of the May incident. The same way it’s been all season, and for years. The commentators all leapt to Maynard’s defence. And so the narrative begins. It’s horrendous. Kozzy pickett this year the same. Called as a thug and a sniper I. The media. Then another player does it and it’s clumsy. Different MRO outcome. Edit. I’d also like to add that I hate Nathan Jones commentating Dees games. He has fallen for the old ‘I need to barrack for the other team so I don’t appear bias’ mentality. Absolutely hate hearing him commentate our matches. He thought the Caleb Windsor sling was fine. It was over the boundary and unnecessary and would have been paid in any season before this one, but particularly this one.
-
If true..i want her head. We, as a club, are under attack. You have Buckley slamming May this morning and also pot shottinv Brayshaw on the way through. Last week it’s the medicos. More stories on Oliver. It’s a barrage, and this weak President has been nowhere for months. I’m done. Spineless
-
May put a heap of mayo on it, deserves the fine. However, it was not holding the ball. He had no prior and was making an attempt. The umpire should have blown a ball-up quicker, but the incessant whinging from North fans had spooked him. secondly, where was Daicos’ fine for this incident? I haven’t read the outraged media reports: Was he fined?

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne
Kick_It_To_Pickett replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
While it was disappointing that we fell away in the last, we need to talk about the state of umpiring…fans whinging about the May free will drive the narrative all week, but let’s highlight a few ‘inconsistencies’: - 1st quarter. North given a 50 metre at Melbourne’s half forward line and it goes inside 50 for a shot on goal. That’s 80 metres - Sheezel drops the ball in a tackle. Play on - Scot lt caught it one tackle. Breaks the tackle. Gets nailed in a 2nd tackle. Ball up. - North bloke fakes a handball. Windsor moves off the mark, 50m. - TMac takes a mark, bloke stands…then moves off the mark.nothing to see here - the ball is bounced in the centre and goes a long way out of the circle..ends up a north advantage and is called play on - same thing happens at next bounce, we win it, play on - Petty mark not paid - TMac eyes on the ball and gets blocked in his jump, paid the other way to a guy blocking him. Crazy stuff If I were a conspiracy theorist, I’d say the AFL felt guilty about last week and were looking to square up with North. Laura Kane is an ex-Roo and made a clown of herself this week trying to justify the decisions in the match against Collingwood -

Typical Wilson story..trying to drum a story off the back of Tom Morris dribble…Morris used to get the scoop on Melbourne stories but no longer really does. The family doesn’t want to make a statement..this is just bulls..t but it requires a statement from the Club immediately. The philosophy to not entertain these stories has not worked well for us lately. Earn ya keep Roffey -
