I was there with my Dad as an 11 year old, as well as the following week against Sydney. I've never experienced an atmosphere at a Melbourne game like either of those games since. The groundswell of support for us was unforgettable. The Melbourne chant around the G was spine tingling.

The club admin staff must've absolutely ropeable at the situation. 1. They are copping an absolute barrage this week from the supporter base through no fault of theirs. 2. They are now going to have to absolutely work their asses off again next year, to pull in similar membership numbers to this year.

I made that statement before Lord Travis said he saw footage that shows Jack wasn't drinking. The part I saw looked like he was in a nightclub surrounded by friends who were all drinking. Seeing this at 10pm on a Thursday night (before a main training session)...well you know...

As stated I was possibly drawing a long bow...but the fact is, he is at a club or pub with "shiny disco balls and flashy lights" as you put it. As Lord Travis said he believes he's not drinking, I was just pointing out what I saw with my own two eyes, unlike you.

Ah fair enough, I must have only caught the tail end then and not seen that footage. thanks for clearing that up.

I'm curious how you were able to decipher that there was a band playing because I couldn't hear or see a band, just people drinking and talking. I also dont know of many pubs that have disco balls attached to the ceilings...but maybe that's just the pubs I go to.. Personally doesn't worry me what players do in their spare time provided they're at their best on game day, but think it was a pretty unnecessary thing to do from Jack. Like you said, it opens him up to getting "slammed", right or wrong.
