  1. …and I have to rename myself! …ok, done. (nee Spargonicus)
  2. Langford is next multi levels
  3. Hey what’s happened to Hunt?
  4. Came here to say this: our fumbling is constant.
  5. My pick for comment of the year. Thanks. Droll, depressing but also, just plain funny.
  6. Is ‘how to fix my WiFi issue’ a metaphor?
  7. Is ‘my WiFi’ a metaphor?
  8. 100% agree that it’s mostly between the ears. As I’ve said, compare the Magpies to us on the field. Or between us now and during our ‘unbeatable’ patch a little while ago. We’ve got the talent. The first three quarters proved that. We looked a million dollars. While they may have been fatigued, that was a total mental capitulation. Culture and belief are a million tiny things. Collingwood have it. On a positive note, I haven’t given up that we can get it back, but will need strong and consistent leadership.
  9. Culture goes deep in organisations. Good culture is very hard to build and maintain, and it’s fragile. It’s a million tiny things. I still track the decline to the May/Melksham incident. That doesn’t happen in a team that cares about each other. As much as we all hate Collingwood, look how they rally around each other.
  10. Completely stopped. We are so unfit.
  11. Just no energy and awareness. So many games we just don’t show up at the beginning too. Some psych issues at the club for sure.
  12. Thanks mate. I might take mine with a handful of Maldon sea salt flakes, a couple of Salada biscuits (all four squares), some Himalayan rock salt - ground, a few anchovies straight from the tin, and 3 slices of Capricciosa - extra olives.
  13. Ahhh…coupla days! Booueatiful!
  14. Total gun. Such a good decision maker, great positions and game awareness.
  15. Totally agree re goal review. That was just amateur hour. Everyone could see McVee touched it and were screaming at the TV to go back a few frames from that other angle. Crazy how bad that is. It’s like 1980s tech, with someone with no common sense reviewing the footage.
  16. I agree. After a conversation, and that all checks out, I’d be up for Trac as captain next year. Could be very good if he’s all in.
  17. Have to agree here. Also what I’ve been saying for a while is the mental side of things. Very difficult to quantify culture into stats or other metrics - I mean, you can with some things, but mostly, you know it when you see it, or feel it. There are principles; there are good practices; there is intent and standards and leadership. Look at Collingwood vs the Dees. At the moment, I’m sad to say, they have good culture in spades over us. We definitely had it around the Premiership, but a few things broke shortly after, and they haven’t repaired fully yet.
  18. Agree - where the hell is TMac? He was one of our best players this season…
  19. Totally agree. he also looks like Ramsay Bolton from GoT.
  20. I admit that I didn’t watch or go to the Magpies game, by choice. First I’ve missed in ages. No regrets at all.
  21. Also, the psychology of it seems to be that because we have so many players who can’t kick set shots, in each game, early on, 3 or 4 easier shots are missed which brings in the trigger for the whole team re: ‘here we go again’, and the pressure builds on each set shot.
  22. goal kicking again Broken record. Should have easily, EASILY kicked 4 more goals in 2nd and 3rd quarter. That would have locked in the momentum, and given us confidence and belief to finish. Very frustrating to say the least.
  23. Welcome to Stage 5: Acceptance
  24. Yeah right. Seems to be a thing each year then. I’ve noticed similar each time. Aren’t WE the home team?
  25. I’d rather win the Saints game and get a huge mental boost going into the Pies game. What I’ve said for a while now is that loading drastically underestimates the effect of psychology. The latter is THE MOST important aspect of most/all sports. Fitness and loading etc. is definitely important. But it doesn’t matter if you’re not getting up a head of steam in confidence and belief. Win the games you can. Win them.
