  1. I’m not completely despondent. And have decided to go to the taxpayers stadium next Friday even, but I think the bigger picture here is how long we’ve been poor. And not just the gamestyle adjustment. It’s the body language, the deplorable skills, the fight. But what gives me hope is the excellent young talent coming through. But almost have given up on Goody as the right guy. Will give him 2-3 more games.
  2. We who are about to die, salute you.
  3. Confirmed, I’m going! 🤩 I reached out to the cousins who attended the 186 and we’re all up for another moment in history…as long as we have solidarity…
  4. Whether we win or lose is up to you. Don’t let us down. But seriously, god speed. Actually I’m down in Geeeelong for work that day. Hmm. Maybe I should go.
  5. I hear you re: patience and building trust and confidence in the system, but this mediocrity has been going on for quite a while now, so the time is rapidly running out. And the appalling skills is not helping. It shows a team completely bereft of confidence.
  6. Just so many basic things we’re botching. Fumbles, tackles don’t stick…just not switched on and holding ourselves to high standards. Or even middling standards.
  7. Sorry all, don’t mind my likes and laugh emojis / reactions to posts on this thread from back in 2022. They were funny! And seemingly still current…(I thought they were!)
  8. Notice how they’re sticking tackles. We’re not. Even the basics
  9. We might find out if we lose 4 or 5 of the next 6 games.
  10. Some good passages of play, but the inevitable horror skill error, or just bombing it into F50 or panicking. They’re just not playing with any confidence or joy.
  11. He’s on notice now. Need a rocket. Love him, but looks lazy. When he delivers it looks silky and classy, but if he’s struggling…
  12. We were spent by the last 5 or 10. They did well but GWS experience was just, just enough.
  13. We can play daring, surge football, but yes, our kicking tends to let us down (we can’t maintain the consistency to execute that kind of game plan). The difference in kicking skills between these sides and the Dees is stark.
  14. Has to be Fagan for me. Swans have the most insufferable supporters. Only Pies eclipse them for sheer arrogance and obnoxiousness.
  15. Until I was about 35, I was an MCC member. Yes, I'm one of the (rare) crazies who stopped renewing my MCC membership - no regrets. I got great value out of it for many years, but stopped going to cricket and found that the popular AFL games required getting there really early etc. I'd rather someone else had it. So I then switched to MFC membership, which I've had for about 15 years. Due to financial issues this year (and recently moving to the country) I cancelled our premium seats and got a KAYO Dees membership, does that count? I'll get back on the train for next season, but one of the lesser memberships, 3-game or whatever the next one is. Still living in country and a little heartbroken over what's happened after what happened and happened before that. But still have hope.
  16. I just don’t reckon the Dees would have fought that hard if we were in the Saints place. Very impressive given nothing but pride on the line. There was that last round game in 2020 was it? Where we put everything on the line and we were all super proud of the ‘new Dees’, but we so often capitulate in those kind of games…
  17. I’m calling it: Collingwood have missed finals.
  18. Yep I’d go one more year with Melky and TMac. Need the depth and experience / leadership anyway.
  19. Hawthorn, Carlton and Bulldogs win and they’re out. No way they can make up %
  20. Wow Kozzie nowhere near it today. Maybe sick
  21. Really weak from Billings. Could have got that into space in F50
  22. I’m happy to step in to replace Nibbler. I’m over 50, ex sub-district 1sts cricketer and played up to u13 footy (A grade, mind you). But I’ve got no tank - 100m jog really tests me. I have good hand to eye coordination. Good kicking technique (but max 35m and that would test the hammy).
  23. Definitely B Brown to retire. Personally, I’d give TMac and Melky one more year for depth / they’ve still got A game. Tommo I’d let go, even though I like him…
  24. Hi team, we’ve talked a lot about our lack of foot skills. When you see teams like Collingwood, Freo and Port nail those ambitious (often through the Centre) field kicks so well, along with their leg speed, how do you see the future of our game plan? Obviously it’s hard to change a game plan - it becomes so ingrained and habitual. Goody has been shifting the dial this year. But is there an interim style for us that will work to get back into top 4? The hybrid red and blueprint? Or are we transitioning to the full Monty as per those clubs as we refresh our list? or should we be looking at the next innovation?
