Half Baked Ideas
I expect the bowling pin costumes provide added protection via padding. Net net a safer outcome for 10x DAâers

Half Baked Ideas
One for the broader AFL; clearly weather is a risk for opening round at this time of year, wreaking havoc on a watertight fixturing process, so next year they should introduce a âRound -1â for contingency purposes

I mean this with the utmost respect but he doesnât strike me as the type that has âgoodâ pants

Half Baked Ideas
Instead of the swirl-target in the DA behind goal to encourage accuracy, 10 x DA members dress up in bowling pin costumes, arrange themselves behind the goal for set shots and then all fall over dramatically as the ball sails through the middle

Half Baked Ideas
Entire team + goal kicking coach has to run a lap of the oval (Indian file) at the end of each game for every behind kicked in the match.

Kudos Brad Green
I get what you mean but Brad was looking for impact, not a novel.

Hawks seek to add NGA prospect
It hurts because our club hasnât benefited greatly from the system but I think they are a necessary evil to keep the game growing at a grass roots level and to keep the best talent in the country away from other codes (particularly in northern states). And to keep them going there needs to be some benefit to the clubs who support them. I agree though that putting dibs on a player late in his junior career (with little involvement in his development to date) is an absolute farce.

AFL Betting
Haha what do you mean you canât avoid it?! Just donât click on it đ€Ł

AFL Betting
I donât disagree re. the advertising

AFL Betting
I respect that not everybody loves betting but it isnât illegal and is a pastime of many on Demonland. Hence why I thought a separate thread made sense. Perhaps just donât visit the thread?
-
AFL Betting
I donât think a dedicated thread exists (pls merge if so) but felt like a dedicated thread for ppl interested makes more sense than talking about betting in random threads where there are people who just donât want to talk about betting. Just decided to build a season multi anchored to Harvey Langford winning Rising Star only to realise he was crunched from $16 to $9 (now 2nd favourite) after the North sim. Ouch.

SSP contenders
Are SSP contracted as rookies? Do all rookie deals only last 1 year and when is the deadline for ending/ extending / upgrading that contract? The Kossie situation interesting with Narkle and Dudley as SSP at Freo. Youâd hope (but not holding my breath) that both are clear on their position with that club before Kossie needs to make a decision on requesting a trade or not.

Predicted Round 1 Team to play GWS Giants
Who was helping Campbell before AJ came on the other day? Therein probably lies the answer.

Predicted Round 1 Team to play GWS Giants
This feels about right to me. Itâs a very Goodwin side.

SSP contenders
Iâll give you the hot tip: the Sturt footy club, the Port Melbourne footy club even the Vermont footy club donât view themselves as âpathwaysâ. They have rich histories, sponsors and supporter bases. They concede some flex in the current SSP system to help give their players a chance at the top stuff. Any suggestion the AFL can just do what it wants with this SSP is just ignorant of the passion and the strength of clubs and supporters at the lower-league level (it isnât always just about the players).

WERRIDEEâS Rolling Squads
Theyâll use the ball well when they get it but that lineup would get terrorised by Daniels, Greene, Stringer (and Bedford and a mobile Hogan). Howes will be in a more accountable role in lieu of Judd. Probably Rivers back there too for the Giants.
-
SSP contenders
Many of these clubs are the heartbeat of their community, they donât just exist to service the âpremierâ competition.
-
SSP contenders
Helpful for AFL clubs, very disruptive to clubs in lower leagues who have players poached in the middle of their season.
