  1. Agree, this kid looks good. Needs to work on his kicking but is a dangerous prospect. Plays alot taller than he is and would be a great addition to our fwd line. Reports are he has an offer on the table from Coll but isn't happy with it. Not sure if it's length or $$$
  2. Good to see Marty Hore have a good year, I really liked him and would have loved him to stay on at the Dees. Hopefully he gets another crack somewhere
  3. No, have to train for that and learn the running patterns and fwd set up. first week of finals isn't the time to try that, and whilst Bowie is a nice kick, Spargo is just as good and exceptionally good going inside 50. I know he has been a little down but id back him in to turn it around.
  4. Salem in, crazy talk about him not being B22. Bowie is unlucky but i think it is him that goes out. Think that's the only change, i still worry about Melksham as our second tall, but can't drop him ATM
  5. They can't play 3 talls and have Cameron go out of the square, the will but 1 maybe 2 of the tall on the bench and if that is the case don't be surprised if May plays on Cameron and lever looks to drop off in front. May has done this many a time, and it means if the ball into Cameron isn't perfect he will mop up. Cameron out of the goal square is a nightmare match up one on one, but if Bris set up that way the Dees wont let him have the leading lanes, and then Hipwood, McStay and Daniher have to become crummers
  6. IN: J. Smith, J. Harmes Out: ANB, T. Sparrow Can't see goody doing it, but i think we need another tall up fwd. Harmes will come in to play on Neale i think
  7. Alot of negativity in the media around melb still. Especially that lovely gentleman David King. I don't know why I tune in every week. But as he has done conveniently all year is draw stats to compliment his statements. Like go over our past 12 weeks for his stats. Where it should be in the past 3 games. Whi h we stack up rather well. But of course that doesn't suit his narrative. Our inside 50s show we should be in the top few teams, but 1 forward isn't working. Ben Brown is having to do too much. The reason he goes into contest with one hand is because he has one opponent trying to hold him out of the contest for an interceptor. He is doing a good job but is up against it. We need another big fwd, but who? JVR - looked ok on the weekend especially considering the conditions, he was also not too bad in the ruck. Presents well and attacks contests hard. Only issue is a young guy coming off a 5 day break after playing on a heavy 10 track, might be a bit hard on him. Smith - He is a unique proposition, I have a feeling he might be a good option which is big for me because I'm not usually a smith fan. I think he could be the aerial contest person we need to free up Brown and Fritta. He ran out the game well on the weekend and played ok without being outstanding. Only issue is he has a tendency to go for marks that others have better position. Weid - Very good game, presented well in the wet, linked well and ran out the game well. We have been here before do we go again? I think we have to play one of these three, but who? And who comes out? Maybe Sparrow? who has become a bit redundant since Brayshaw moving into the middle.
  8. 22 possies at 73% efficiency, il take that "liabilitie" most weeks not to mention 6 tackles and 7 intercept possessions
  9. 5 - Melksham 4 - Oliver 3 - Gawn 2 - Petty 1 - Brayshaw
  10. If we lose Uze for a senior position elsewhere. Should we look at Hinkley if sacked. Can't believe Port fans want him out, he has made 3 prelims and lost a couple by under a couple of kicks. Other one I think would be a great [censored] coach is Leon Cameron. Thoughts?
  11. oh yeh that as well, then roll out the JK300 merch in demons colors haha
  12. Yup 10 games, he doesn't travel, and it gives JVR good access to develop too. it's all a pipe dream but it could work if he wanted another medal. i think he is happily retired though
  13. Cane Cornes saying Melb should be trying to drag Kennedy out of retirement isn't crazy. 2 years, one with coaching involved. Tell him we will manage him throughout the year and aim for about 10 games. it's pretty crazy and wont happen, but I'm not against it. could be a handy coach to get in too.
  14. Like Hutchy said, sell it to him by saying you only play 10 games and finals. manage him. it wont happen but i would be all for it!
  15. @binman still getting behind ANB? i have been with you but his game on the weekend really annoyed me. So many times when we were surging forward and he would receive a handball and take on the tackler, stopping our momentum, he just needed to keep the ball going fwd. he wasn't alone but was a repeat offender. Which brings me to another point, our hand balling around our HF line! This is where we need to be kicking it to Ben Browns advantage, even if its a 2v1. which sounds silly but if we kick it to him in a manner that he can bring it to ground, if a player is sitting in front of brown put it high on his head so brown can run in and make a contest, don't try and spear it in. This will give us a chance to get a forward stoppage. to often we turn it over at our half forward line and its only 1 maybe 2 kicks for the opposition to get inside 50. This loss mirrors the dogs loss to me, annoying loss and puts pressure on our position this year, but not a bad loss! We played well, beat them in so many areas and just didn't handle the manic play in the last.
  16. they can trade it, but have to get a first rounder back in, can trade out their first round and get in a later first rd plus more.
  17. Ben Brown will still be our #1 but he needs help. BB And georgiades is a good set up and JVR developing too, which he will eventually take Brown's spot. or maybe JVR might play the jackson role next yr. but i really like the idea of getting Georgiades
  18. What do people think about Darling? sounds like he has made a few waves at WC and they may be open to trading him. has got a big contract which i wouldn't take on, but if they would pay part of it, maybe an option. just think we need a big marking/crashing forward. not a Gunston type. Waterman is another at WC who has a bit of potential but maybe not big enough. Think the Fwds work chasing and possible of getting are: Darling - WC McLean - Syd (can't get a game) Hogan - GWS ( would fit nicely i think) Ratugolea - Geel (can't get a game) Georgiades - Port (has been dropped 3 times this yr) Henry - Coll (Dropped, and pies heavily linked to McStay put him further out of favor) These are the ones id like us to look at, some will be wanted and contracted by their clubs but still worth a look, Lobb is the other one, but i really don't rate him and he doesn't want to ruck
  19. Gawn - 6 Oliver - 5 Lever - 4 Brayshaw - 3 Brown - 2 Viney - 1
  20. Out: ANB In: Harmes Hunt gets another go, just! and id like to see JVR in for Melksham but we wont
  21. Was a repeat of the Dogs game, we played well but defensively [censored] house. To much hand-balling across the HF line, when we should be getting it to Brown advantage and let our smalls go to work. ANB has been ave of recent times and I've been an advocate of his at times, but he took the tackle on way to many times today and in moments when we were surging fwd and he just needed to keep the ball moving fwd. He wasn't alone but he stood out the most. we just didn't have the match ups for their fwd line. De goey was given way to much space at stoppages fwd of center, where they look to tap it to him every time when they are in scoring areas Like the dogs loss, its one with a lot of positives in it. and maybe it is just a change in our game plan for Collingwood not necessarily a change all together. a lot of other teams we would have blown them away enough to cruise after 3/4 time
  22. Carn boys, get it done! Melksham play your role again and kep your spot. big watch on Gus, if he goes back to the backline and it looks to upset the balance he has to stay in the guts.
  23. Love to hear your thoughts on Melksham's role? I have always been anti Melksham but it looks like his role releases Fritsch up the ground. I can't believe I'm going to say this but if he can play like he did on the weekend I think he stays in the side. Fritsch up the ground is great, he has very good ball skills and also loses his opponents alot and gets out the back.
  24. Can't wait to tune into radio and TV tomoz and listen to the Clown King flip again and say we are premiership favourites. The week after he said our backline is real issue and Can't win the flag. I really dislike that guy!!!!
