  1. Dees wont want to pay anything, $650 for Grundy is a bargain. and they will see it that way. If as many clubs that are reported are interested in him there is no need to pay any of his contract. Id say they don't care too much of the pick as they will be looking to move it on anyway.
  2. oh yeh, just saying I am more than happy to give up that capital for pick 4
  3. AFL.com are reporting that we are offering GC our first rounder, 23 and 32 for pick 4 which CG need to trade for points. Id be happy to throw in our first round pick for next year too. Then we go into this draft with pick 4 and 5 in a very strong draft. Next years draft is apparently shallow so later picks won't be as profitable. all be it early days judging next years draft.
  4. I also think T-mac could be important this week in making sure we give Max a bit of an extra rest leading into finals. With T-Mac, JVR, Fritta and Melky in the forward line, i expect T-Mac and JVR will share the ruck load a bit!
  5. I don't see Melb paying a cent. they will keep him if that's the case. The interesting factor that may come up is if the bench goes to 5. Which i believe was the original reason for going after Grundy.
  6. I am going to have to correct you. JR to GL "have the Demons had a chat with Harley, possibly as we speak?" Like i said he was implying that it is happening and was trying to get the info out of Garry who wouldn't budge.
  7. Yeh I don't think we can ask too much for him. a second rounder is what he is worth. Honestly i think we go to the lower levels and sign the best SANFL/WAFL/VFL ruck, even if its an SSP. They are usually very solid ruckmen without being game changers. I'm a mad Norwood fan so a bit bias but I really like Harry Boyd in the SANFL. He is second in the league for Hit Outs, first for clearances, averages about 15 disposals a game and 4 inside 50s a game. He is only 25 and won the BOG in the 2022 SANFL GF and Norwood B&F that year too. He is an undersize ruckman at 198cm but we are seeing more and more these days that if you are athletic that doesn't matter.
  8. Oh i agree with those other players but they aren't on the table. If i Could choose one, Allen!! he is perfect, gun key forward and can to the ruck pinch hitting too. That's the only issue, if we do go for a young key fwd and Jefferson does come on we will lose one. In terms of Petty and Smith, yes! Much better than Smith and Petty had been great hole filler but i do think he will settle in defence, especially once May retires
  9. No, Ralph was hinting that Melbourne FC had a meeting with Reid on Monday, he tried to get it out of Gary but he just let it go through to the keeper.
  10. He has never been the second tall, has always played alongside 2 other talls and they all get in each others way. He would be a great second tall for us with Fritter being that versatile 3rd
  11. John Ralph hinting to Gary On The Couch that the Dees were meeting with Reid. With North getting pick one it seams unlikely now though

  13. I think this would be a great option. This kid has shown plenty in his restricted career. Port have not played him correctly either. Straight swap for Grundy would be a fair trade IMO.
  14. i hadn't seen the forecast, totally agree if that's the case
  15. In: T-Mac Out: Schache Laurie or Smith to sub. Would be tough to put smith sub as he played an ok game, but he is just so perfect as the sub. Liked what Laurie did, not outstanding but needs a chance not just straight out!
  16. Id probs go by the AFL Journo.
  17. Clarry was like that before chocco rocked up, he is only 22 has all the tools. The behavioral thing is a beat up, he just got caught. Don't tell me over 50% of the comp haven't "enjoyed" their time off in the off-season. (I'm being very conservative with 50%) Haha, i'm sure if he was one of "our boys" we would love the hair
  18. Has been cleared up, we would not be paying any part of his contract. unless it was on top of what Collingwood are paying. Nothing changes for Collingwood they have agreed to pay X amount over X years, they have to stick to that. John Ralph reported this weeks ago on "on the couch"
  19. I have long been an anti Melksham person, but i think he is crucial now and has to be part of our team going forward even with Fritta coming back, What's the panels thoughts?
  20. Those three are above that level, Smith is a 22yo that has hit elite numbers already. the 2021 final series he was outstanding. How many of our midfielders couldn't kick before Choco came along? This Kid would compliment our midfield perfectly with his speed and line breaking.
  21. SEN reporting that Bailey Smith at the dogs isn't happy with not getting midfield time. He is out of contract at the end of next year. If there is any truth to this we should pounce, this kid is a superstar and would be the perfect rotation for Petracca and the pace our midfield needs.
  22. Interesting game, hawks came with a plan that was working, but after half time we made a plan for their plan and strangled their ball movement. Good win with our stars having quiet games. I watched T-Mac in the VFL today and think we need to have him in. we cant have Petracca, Sparrow and Melksham taking ruck contests in our forward line. T-mac played very well, lead up and presented, kicked 3 and took a few marks. Played the exact game we need from him at AFL. Does he come in? The only issue we have is when Fritta comes back we can't have T-Mac, Fritta, Melksham and smith in the same team
  23. 6 - Rivers 5 - Lever 4 - Melksham 3 - Brayshaw 2 - Sparrow 1 - Gawn
  24. yet another slow start
  25. Tough loss, bit of polish let them down. Dan turner was outstanding and close to our best on ground. Spargo was creative and a good link up player with limited options forward. T-Mac was great, and had he not been playing we lose by 5 goals, he led up well created contests and took some important marks as well as 3 goals. Grundy, he is a ruckman, but unfortunately we have to play him forward because if he is to get into the AFL side that where he will need to play. Dunstan was his usual self just a great depth player Woey had some great moments and some skill errors, is leaning and developing well. Jefferson is developing well, he will get his marking and physical side of his game later but he is going to be a good mobile CHF i think AMW had a quieter game, but is an exciting 19yo Verrall is another one i like how he is developing, especially for a young Ruck. he was soundly beaten by Fort who is an AFL lever ruck. but that was body work, his tap work looks good, once he learns how to hold his ground and position with a few pre-seasons in the gym, i think he will be good.
