  1. I want them to start the chant, all of them, and then watch as we kick 9 goals in 6 minutes to win by 20. Van Rooyen kicking the goal that puts us in front after riding Moore outside 50 and then calmly slotting it from 60.
  2. Grundy basically sat out all of last year, his pre season running showed he is miles of his team mates in terms of fitness. If he can stay healthy and build his fitness through the year I'll have expectations of him. For now, just compete and don't get injured!
  3. The eternal optimist in me hopes Schache becomes a key forward for us if Brown and TMac both can't play
  4. Doggies absolutely deserve the points. Fantastic win and great to see UH stick it to the racist fool from last week. Winmar would be proud.
  5. I particularly like the high five with a Swans supporter sitting between you and your high fiving Demon mate but that's just me.
  6. [censored] that, I want 22 disposals, 8 marks and 3 goals and Monday's headlines to read "Dee's smash hoodoo as the second coming lights up the G" good key defender in a few years, pfffft
  7. Now that it's confirmed the second coming is playing I'd likely leave TMac in so he can ruck with Grundy. I want JVR settling in as a key forward, leading, marking, busting packs and then collecting the spillage and slotting it through around his body from 40metres on the Members HFF, Punt Rd end. Now that's a high five your mate moment right there!
  8. I'm the opposite on Gawn. I think we're at risk of going into our shell and not attacking through the corridor because we don't have Gawn a kick behind play. This is doubly so because Salem and Kossie are out. If the Swans keep the ball away from Bowey then who's kicking it out of the back half to the corridor knowing if they miss there's also no Gawn backup. I'm thinking the Swans clamp down on Bowey for this very reason. If the Swans go 3-4 goals up early do you think we have the dare to roll through the corridor? I'm still thinking we win this but......
  9. Having not watched him play more than a hand full of times I’ll take your word for it. Clearly the club sees value in him. I’m with the poster who sees this as a crunch game for us. I’m prone to hyperbole though! If we win I’ll be back to predicting us the Premiers but if we lose I’ll be calling for Goodwins head. The truth lies in the middle 🤓
  10. Does Joel Smith really get a run this week?
  11. Not Bowey, he needs to spend his time kicking the ball to targets in the corridor
  12. Great, the more of his type the better. Seems ready to go
  13. Salem, Kossie and Max are so important to what is seen as faster, more direct, corridor footy. Salem to make the kick to the corridor, Kossie for obvious reasons and Max to mop up down back if it comes unstuck. Having all 3 out really hurts us. We need to get the ball in Bowey's hands this week and I reckon Sydney know that. Big game coming up.
  14. I've got no idea what's going to happen. I thought the Doggies might get us and that we'd thrash Brisbane. Gawn went off and the players thought he'd done his ACL and it totally rattled them. (Well that's my take) My mate still thinks Goodwin is an ordinary coach with no plan B. I'll be watching this week for a serious response and some clever coaching. If not, I'll be joining him. Also if we don't play JVR, a player who loves a contest and can take a mark, then I really hope the others respond.
  15. If JVR doesn’t play this week then I’d like an explanation as to why not
  16. May, JVR, Jordan and Hibberd must all be a chance this weekend. This is a roll up your sleeves and get dirty weekend more so than most. The 4 above will all give you that level of effort, it's just how they roll. The outs for mine are Gawn, Melksham, McVee and Harmes. Can't see Goodwin making 4 changes though.
  17. If we get picks 9-11, 13 and 28ish in this years draft for a player who helped us win a Premiership in his second year I for one will be stoked. We can trade those picks up the order and pick one of the best young talents in the land. Player movements are part of the game now and our club has proven really good at maximising the benefits of this. I liked LJ and would have loved him to stay but his bed has $7 million in it and it's near all his mates and family, good luck to the kid.
  18. Jackson's 2 games in, give the kid a chance. What is he, 21? It'll be 3 -4 years before he reaches his potential. I hope at that point he tears the competition apart in a side that struggles to play beyond the first week of finals.
  19. Just not a spud by the sounds of it
