What's needed in 2024
Langdon’s form dropped off a cliff, I really hope Howes and Woewodin are given the opportunity to take his spot. Chandler’s a spud let’s be honest. AMW needs to take his spot. Petty and JVR need to own the forward. Turner must build his tank and his strength to keep Tomlinson out. Recruit May’s replacement. Recruit at least 2 good users of the ball to run through the middle. Were well and truly in it but must add polish. Bring the youth in and drive them all hard in the preseason.

Cool light of day
They absolutely deserved to have strips torn of them. We lost to a vastly inferior side by being undisciplined, burning team mates (Viney burning Petracca at the death summed it up) not going when it was our turn. ANB the only player who turned it up a dial when it mattered. I’m not convinced this group has that edge that drives you beyond your best. I hope we recruit that this year because we need some quality youth. Howes, Woewodin, Turner, AMW need to rip this preseason a new one.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
There’s got to be more to the story…no one in their right mind picks Schache ahead of Grundy. For mine we should have used Gawn forward and doing all the forward ruckwork with Grundy rucking around the ground. Then sub Grundy off for some run in the third and let Max roam. Surely that’s how we should have played it? We would have won both those games.

The Neal-Bullen non goal
I think that was Fritsch? All goals are reviewed although I’m sceptical about the review system. It was deemed touched although I thought it was inconclusive.

PODCAST: SF vs Carlton
It was the most undisciplined game I’ve seen from us since the bad days. We burnt teammates, gave away 50’s, didn’t go when it was our turn and failed to shut the game down with minutes left. On top of that we again missed goals that would have had the game done. What leads to this on such an important night? Also Whats happened to Ed Langdon and Christian Salem? Their output has plummeted.

You’ve been trying to prove some point since I made mention of your continued posts to Rollinson65. I’ve put you on ignore now so you can move on.

Neither Turner or Adams are big enough to cover May, Tomlinson is.

2023 Positives
Had to make body contact, absolutely had to. A free to Docherty wouldn't of mattered.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Key needs May replacement, this is an absolute key. I'm worried about losing Tomlinson. Brayshaw replacement if it's a second rounder. Outside/Inside class in the vein of Horne-Francis x 2. New winger/s (maybe Howes and/or Woewodin) I'd be transitioning our game away from relying on a dominant ruckman. We just need a beast who competes and can take the odd mark. Funnily enough I think a forward half of Petty, JVR, Fritsch, McAdam, Pickett and Petracca is fantastic. I really hope we're training this all preseason.

It’s insurance, ideally you never use it but you pay it every year.

Cool light of day
I’be been thinking who we can shop around for draft picks and pkayers The list in my mind is Salem, Langdon, Grundy and Sparrow. I love Tom but if we could get a really clean user for him, with some outside pace I’d be interested.

Is it the players or dysfunction at the management level?
Because we have forwards with little or no forward craft, mids who can’t kick and a use a plan to suit/minimise those weaknesses

I’d be stoked if the club had the chutzpah to trade out Salem and Langdon, just can’t see it.

Cool light of day
I just watched players torch each other, give away undisciplined 50’s, slip over and miss goals I’d kick, hell, our skipper gets blamed for touching a goal line kick from Oliver while Smith and Fritsch gaze at their opponents competing. If that’s the best they’ve got then my question has been answered. These losses are squarely on the players.
