  1. Watch the Carlton final and the first quarter against Collingwood. If that's not wetting the bed then I don't know what is. Even the coach and match committee were damp after the Carlton loss.
  2. Personally I'd play a half fit Oliver in the goal square, JVR and Fritsch as marking targets , with ANB, Spargo and Schache the others. Chandler as sub to replace Schache if he fails to impact.
  3. Teams with as much talent as ours don't bow out of finals in straight sets 2 years running. I think we can be rattled by clubs who really bring the heat.
  4. Last years finals, the preseason from hell, an ever so soft underbelly, TMac, Brown and Schache being discussed as answers, Surely that’s enough to worry any Demon tragic Ang?
  5. Not my type of music but my understanding is that she’s a really sound person so as long as she takes the Dee’s to be her team I’m happy for her to borrow our ground.
  6. Jefferson is miles away from AFL footy, Adams needs 10 really good games for Casey at least......Turner is the only one and I believe he's injured. I'll be shocked if Schache doesn't get a guernsey. I really hope he can clunk a few, bring the rest to ground and maybe kick 1 or 2.......
  7. I don’t think any realistic guide to Melbourne’s chances this year involve Brown, TMac or Schache. Schache May surprise as he still has a body that can handle an AFL season but Jeepers it’s a long bow. Smith is done you would think. So in effect bar Fritsch and JVR we’re all hoping Petty can get fit and stay fit. How many players have great seasons after missing large chunks of a pre season with a serious foot injury? Add to this the fact he’s not a key forward yet. He’s a back who’s showed some promise as a forward. Then there’s McAdam who from all reports has done a power of work to get to the standard our game demands, he’s now injured his calf. For a 29 year old with a long history of injuries what chance is he to play 20 plus games and be ready at the business end? On top of this Oliver hasn’t even begun full training yet. Look I want us to win but this has been an ordinary off season for the club. I love all the happy clappers around here, you guys rock with your training reports, enthusiasm and positivity, I’ve been there the last 4 years, I know how good it feels. This year doesn’t have that same feeling for me. I really hope I’m proven wrong.
  8. I can’t see us beating Sydney, reckon we’ll be comfortably beaten in both games in Adelaide. That’s before we try and get over the Dogs, Lions, Tigers and Blues in the first 10 rounds. It’s a hard start for a side carrying multiple injuries to key players.
  9. I yearn for the day when the gravy train of poorly educated ex footballers with too many head knocks is stopped. I don’t think we’re far off much better football analysis and commentary becoming mainstream. It’s there with some great podcasts and articles written. Problem is you then turn the TV on and you have gorillas on serious money commentating. Then you have FOX and it’s myriad football shows either attempting comedy or telling you the plainly obvious. It’s no wonder I come here. 😂🤓
  10. I’d take Schache over TMac. At least there’s an outside chance he’ll do something
  11. I’ll add that as a club we should be filthy on last year and wanting to absolutely prove our mettle. I just don’t have the proof that this is the club atm. We’ve been shown to ever so slightly weaken when we’ve really needed to galvanise and push ahead. Injuries have been a factor but they’re not the reason…….
  12. I don’t fully trust this team. I watched us fold when Gawn went down in Rd 2 last year. I’ve watched last years finals again and reckon we’re just that little bit fragile. Unless our A Graders are on the park and our mid range go another level there’s every chance Adelaide, GWS, Sydney, Brisbane, Collingwood, Carlton are all above us at years end. More than happy to be proved wrong but that’s how I see it. Believe you me this is the first time in many years I haven’t been very bullish on our prospects.
  13. We get a charmed run with injuries we’ll be hard to beat. If we get injuries to some key players and need to find cover for the likes of Gawn, May, etc we could easily finish 12th. You still haven’t had that walk in the sun we talked about have you? The fact Petty, McAdam and Oliver are all doubtful starters is not making us look all that charmed. Looking at the first 8 rounds and my guess is we’ll be coming from outside the top 4 at the midway mark if we are to win it.
  14. So know we’re agreeing with Cornes because he kind of said we were the best. The guy doesn’t do any detail, he’s a shock jock. You know this yet the minute he says something almost positive about the Dee’s you quote him as a believer.
  15. I’ve been on the pessimistic side of the ledger since last years finals. I think clubs have worked us out to an extent. We have a great list but unless Petty can get himself 100% right we have the same issue as last year and to me that’s a freakin big if! McAdam appears to be not fully fit so a full season from him appears a pipe dream. Then there’s Billing’s, if we’re expecting much from a Saints discard we’re kidding ourselves albeit he’s good depth when fit. I worry about Gawn and May at 32 a piece. So it’s over to Howes, Woewodin and perhaps Windsor to be the youth coming through. Improved years from Bowey, Spargo, Salem, Langdon and Chandler are a must. We need to get Oliver back to his prime at some stage prior to about Round 15. Personally I think Rivers and Neal Bullen could be the players that lift us, maybe Sparrow will go a level? We know Petracca, Viney, Brayshaw, Lever, Fritsch will get us close. Then there’s the coach and as the saying goes, you’re only as good as your last game, and folks I’ll say it again, it was a howler. We’ll finish somewhere from top to eleventh. 🤓
  16. The other night I had pizza and then dreamt I was thirsty and nothing could quench it. I woke up and I was really thirsty. So dreams do come true!
  17. May is our defence, he’s not playing forward. If he does go forward it’s because we’re already cooked.
  18. Your training reports are getting more over the top by the session! At this rate we’ll win the flag and a first year player will own the members wing, Schache will win the Norm Smith and Nibbler will become the most loved Demon! Keep it coming!
  19. That’s the 3 year superannuation tour you mean 22-24
  20. Take it easy, he's actually spot on with his summary, yes he leans to glass half empty but those inside 50's were very ordinary
