Let’s hope our Jed strikes oil as well.

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Yes, now there is clear air. The Ray lamp is solely on the players now. Let’s see who wants to/ should be on the List next year. This has now turned out to be a very big positive.

How you doing?
Too right, I agree with everything you say, with one exception, I’m not Sad. I’m not Sad that a paid employee has been dismissed. If they we’re a relative or personal friend I would feel differently. If it was unfair I would feel differently. People lose their jobs every day. Simon has been well compensated by all accounts. If he is re-employed soon it will be considered a financial windfall. With any sacking, if it was unjust I would feel aggrieved. However this was not the case, IMO there is an argument that it could have happened even much sooner, even as early as early 2024. Simon will always hold a special place in MFC history. I do not personally dislike him nor wish him any ill will. If people choose to feel Sad that is their right. As it is my right not to feel sad. No one should be ostracised for feeling this way. I barrack for the Melbourne Football Club, I do not barrack Simon Goodwin.

How you doing?
Respect For sometime now I’ve been somewhat bewildered how one poster on here seems to be given a free pass for questionable behaviour when everyone else is not granted that same latitude. When someone questions said behaviour a few select allies regularly come to his/her defence. However generally it’s all quiet, waved through to the keeper, as if people are too scared to say anything. The irony is the poster is consistently criticising others for their behaviour or sometimes it’s just their stated opinions yet he/her seem oblivious to stop and reflect on their own actions. Whilst it is a complex situation with many issues to consider ie. feelings, personalities, general life difficulties, mental health and the malaise of social media etc We all could be suffering in some way. Who would know on a forum like this? To grant one person immunity alone is improper, in my opinion.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
Maybe, but has Trust, Respect, Unity & Excellence been prevalent since 2021?

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Personally I would like to see the role split :- Strategy, tactics, game plan etc, List Management Player relationships, Motivation, Media Both on equal footing.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
Does this include continue coaching next year if he wanted?

Simon Goodwin Sacked
Stark difference between the two. Norm Smith was sacked 12 games into the 1965 season, after winning the flag the year before and with the team sitting third on the ladder - 9 wins, 3 losses. Goodwin was “sacked” ( let’s wait for the ALL the details to come out, maybe it was by mutual arrangement, who knows at this stage) 3 seasons less 3 matches having not won a final since winning a premiership in such a dominant fashion, whole season included. It’s been all downhill since then.

Judd McVee contract
Yes unfortunately. Was thinking he was a Star in the making before this year, now he plays like his heart isn’t in it. As if he believes there’s greener pastures elsewhere. Hope I’m wrong.

Time to go Goody?
Yes it is, and so it should be. Goodwin has been ‘in charge’ for 9 years. He is at the very top of the blame list, for good reason. Add to that list many of the senior players together with coaching assistants and some personnel in List Management and Fitness.

Yeah, goes back to the Off season after the Flag.

May to Tribunal
Yes, players easing in the run to the ball with an intention of tackling is a highly likely ramification of this ludicrous decision. The problem with this is the tackler is then placing he’s own welfare at risk ie player pulls out to the point of being stationary, opponent who wins the ball then runs straight through the tackler square on. As a result the tackler thens sustains injury similar, or worse, to Evans Carl. What do the fools at AFL HQ say then.

Trade Targets
I didn’t say trade out ALL OF THEM. And I disagree with you Re Van Rooyen. If we can get reasonable trade for a player with his limitations, where the hype has clearly exceeded the reality, why not trade him?
-
Time to go Goody?
Goodwin “ we’re trying to build something”. Oh come on Goodwin, just more Spin. Been there 9 years, gone backwards despite having most of the premiership team still on the list. Why is he TRYING to build something now? He just needed to steer the ship straight after 2021 but appears he’s been asleep at the wheel. The blame for our demise starts with him.

Trade Targets
Don’t mind this approach and no problems with the names mentioned. IMO the list needs a radical overhaul to hopefully stimulate a rejuvenation. Swapping some/all of Salem, Lever, Langdon, Sparrow, maybe even Viney. Test the worth of Rivers, Van Rooyen and maybe even McVee with WCE and Freo, Petty with Adelaide clubs and Fritsch, even Howes and Woewodin might attract some interest. With the normal delistings of others who haven’t made the grade and are unlikely to do so, those being replaced by young players from the draft, the radical overhaul can be achieved without the need to “bottom out” IMO.

Can we talk about Kolt?
On what we’ve seen so far, would he get a game at any other Club? If you think Not, it shows you how bad we are actually going. * And our Injury list this year hasn’t been as bad as a lot of other Clubs.

POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
So are you saying Goodwin has had No part to play at all in where we currently sit? If so, do you think we should Re-contract him beyond 2026?
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Serious question, why are you so invested in Jefferson? What do you see that many others don’t?
-
Time to go Goody?
Why do you feel need to “appeal to certain posters”?

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
4:45 Q2 Petracca hanging back off Curtain, Curtain wins the loose ball and runs away from a stationary Petracca.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
When it’s appears the overriding importance in Goodwin’s time has been on effort based contested ball and not skills, it’s a bit too late for goal kicking practice.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
Feeble effort, zero inspiration. Please stamp his papers.

PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
May Adams/McDonald Lever McVee Turner Chandler May can still win the ball but is too loose in a lock down on a good key forward. Free him up.

GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Perhaps the overwhelming emphasis over the last 10 years has been a blinkered attitude towards crash and bang efforts to win the Contested ball and then jam it into F50 to get a stoppage.
