  1. Definitely. Sunday morning I was doing some weeding in the front yard, and was delighted to see a kid aged 8 or 9 clad in a Melbourne guernsey with number 13 on his back having a kick of the footy with his dad on the road. At school drop off this morning I saw a Mum draped in an enormous brand new looking MFC scarf. I've lost count if the Dees caps and beanies I've seen around the streets recently. Great to see.
  2. They've got 2/3rds of our colours already, they HATE Port more than many could imagine, and our coach was one of their all-time greats. Get around us Crows fans. 😀
  3. Thanks, that is a thing of beauty. Just sent to some cats-supporting rellies. 😀 I especially loved seeing Oliver fly over the top to get to maxy. The love and passion in this group is special.
  4. "Was a big bucks man" - I read that to mean he wanted big dollars, so was not thrilled, but if they mean he was close to his former coach, that puts a different light on it. If he wants success, surely he'd go for us over the Saints.
  5. Not sure about the Brownlow given the vagaries of its polling, but he HAS to have sewn up the AFLCA. Bont surely not polling this week. Clarry was a monster tonight.
  6. Better this week than next. 🤮
  7. Can that [censored] ping his hammy already.
  8. 3 mins into 2nd qtr and Clarry has 12 contested possessions! Freak.
  9. Oliver having a blinder!
  10. Carry a gun. Harmes dude you are killing me with kicks like that last one. Hoping cats tire - game could open up.
  11. Some seriously finals level intensity there
  12. They are. Consistently called against Melbourne.
  13. Great mark Brown. Sticky hands.
  14. Lever jeesus let's not get rubbed out.
  15. Apparently you're not allowed to drop a mark near the boundary now. Horsesh!t.
  16. So not the reqd distance
  17. "Melbourne have been genuinely pathetic any time the heat has been put on them and thats exactly whats going to happen come finals, isn't really a side to fear provided we play our best footy." This goose has no f-ing idea.
  18. If we're playing the cats they'd almost be better off catching a ferry across and driving up the peninsula.
  19. My gears are being ground savagely by the use of "quarterback" by some commentators in recent years.

According to the AFL site, a week's rest will be incorporated during the finals prior to the preliminary final. I'm a bit worried about this - for the top 4 sides that win in week 1, the preliminary final would be their next game, in 3 weeks' time with the bye! Potential for rustiness or degraded match fitness through the roof. Also helps aged or less fit sides such as the Govtfunded Cats.
  21. Interesting the vagaries of the draw there. We've played top 8 teams 9 times. Other top 4 candidates Cats, Dogs, Lions only 8 times, and Port only 7!
  22. Particularly in 2nd half when they were closing the gap. He took several crucial marks, spoils, and kicked reliably.
  23. All of that post-hoc world salad could equally be used to describe a sling tackle the likes of which would see an ANB or similar being handed a 4 week holiday. Hawkins laid his tackle from behind, driving the player forwards with his hands pinned to his sides so he could not protect impact of his head with the ground. Hawkins made ZERO attempt to lessen the impact. As is his modus operandi, he showed f-all duty of care to the opposition player.
  24. Would have called for a straighjacket if you'd suggested at quarter time that Fritsch would snag 7.
