  1. I'd bet my house that if a tally was done of last-minute-of-quarter goals against over the last few years, we would be miles ahead of the rest of the competition.
  2. I may be recalling incorrectly, but he seemed to perform better alongside Jackson.
  3. You can ink an opposition goal in the last minute of each quarter against Melbourne.
  4. Can you be more specific, please?
  5. Saad's job interview today?
  6. Early signs suggest we should tear them apart today.
  7. True, that would be very Melbourne. Followed by an 8-goal Hogan haul tomorrow night to bring Freo the win that would have gotten us in.
  8. If he kicks 5 of anything it'll be 5 behinds.
  9. If he does nothing else, please, Weid, crash the [censored] out of some packs.

Nailed by the Bulldogs back in 2016 Preliminary Final.
  11. Some classic truths there, e.g. "Melbourne choke or Melbourne by 100 equally as likely." My favourite might just be "If Saintz win tonight can we just mutually agree with Dees to call this game off?" Tomorrow night could be anything.

    Over to you, Longmuir.

I find it a little distasteful that this is thrown back on supporters, as though it would somehow be antithetical to the club's culture to suggest a loyal club servant's time might be up. At the end of 2019, Jones was given a 1 year contract, acknowledging his experience and proximity to a significant individual milestone. It must be desperately disappointing for him that a COVID-reduced season and injuries have pushed his 300 milestone out of reach, but we can't perpetually hold a list spot open to facilitate personal milestones unless it's mutually beneficial to the team and club.

This is a relief. I was worried that he'd miss a chunk of it given the duration.

That'll be mighty stressful, we'd need the Giants to pull saints pctge down by several % so we can leapfrog them, while not themselves lifting their own pctge by the 6% to overtake us. Imagine beating dons by a point, our % would fall fractionally - we really need a big win to maximise our chances. Perilous stuff! Come on Weid, time for your break-out 7-goal haul.

Our %ge 106.2, theirs was 100.3 before this game, but is now up to 104.4 on live ladder. If they keep this up we'll need a solid margin next week to get over them.

Yes, even if we win next week and they lose, they could still end up ahead of us on % with us both on 9 wins.

I'm sure we won't. We'll play WCE, Lions, Freo and Port twice, with our home games against Freo and Port in NT.

    This is getting ugly.

Jeez the Crows are really doing a number on Carlton right now.

@Demonland This is a wonderful site, forum and community. The Gameday threads provide a lot of added entertainment and outlet during our games, and I've learned a lot about the tactical and operational sides of the game from the many discussions herein and on the Podcast. Thanks for your ongoing work.

Didn't seem to be anything specific. Looked to me like he wasn't entertaining leading questions setting any kind of press narrative. E.g towards the end was asked about Rivers' game and if we had "a find" as though it was luck, which he shot down as being due to the good work of our recruitment team. He seemed short and to the point, less meandering cliches, perhaps reflecting the team's focus on next week and the job not yet being done.
