It wad brilliant. Good on him. The second-proudest I've been of Gary Lyon since he couldn't help himself and gave our boys a subtle fist pump while holding the Premiership cup with Chris Grant during the 2021 grand final pre-game formalities. Also an interesting tidbit later re. Clarry exploring a possible overseas training camp in the off-season and being hell-bent on hitting 2025 in ripping fitness.

That seemed a little over the top by King there. Parker got 6 weeks running past the ball and wiping someone out. Houston's action looked more "in play". I'd imagine a 4 to 5 week suspension would be likely. Silly way to end his Port career. And kissing involvement in finals goodbye too when they're 2nd on the ladder! Hinkley must be spitting chips.

The Nibbler news was leaked before the club announced it. Where is the evidence it was a club-orchestrated leak? The McAdam trade is on the club, not Nibbler. Though if he can get a preseason under him, maybe his 2025 will be brighter.

But in this case that's effectively playing hard-ball with Nibbler, not Port/Crows. They haven't head-hunted him, he's asking to go home without demands on which club he ends up at.

Looking forward to this thread next week if Jeffo kicks a bag for Casey but BBB is selected for a swansong against the Pies.

A couple of Dees players are attending a footy clinic at 10.30am Sunday in Melbourne, so I'm assuming they're coming back on Sat afternoon.

Just think, he could have had it fixed properly at the time rather than endure 5 months of battering, and he'd have probably been back on the park months ago.

Gus's retirement announcement made me worried after the off-season from hell we'd just dealt with. Going down to the tigers in the preseason family day game was perturbing. When we completely stopped in the last quarter in opening round against the Swans, I had a sinking feeling, but was prepared to put that down to the humid conditions. When Brisbane completely outplayed us I should have known. But the nails in the coffin were the WCE loss and the 90-point Freo spanking. It was clear then that our new game plan had fallen apart. That was when I really noticed handballs going to empty space and frustrated players yelling at each other for not being where they should have been. The transition from a happy camp where players were smiling and celebrating small acts like desperate spoils as a unified team to what we've seen in the 2nd half of this season has been depressing.

It turns out having a child several hundred kilometres from family support can be difficult - and for new parents, in ways that simply cannot be understood beforehand. And WTF is wrong with Adelaide?
