Chandler had multiple open players in fwd 50 and kicks high to a contest leading to oppo mark.

Residual vegetable oil from his Tiktoks

Wasn't that largely theatrical, given they booed Hunter shortly before? Anyway, no booing from me for Harmesy. Huge soft spot for him, and hope he identifies as a dees fan after his career ends.

We've also been cruelled by our home ground being the game's major stadium. Little coincidence that the MCG becoming home to powerful tenant clubs from Richmond in '65ish coincided with our protracted drought. This means we have no home base, and the most negligible home ground advantage in the league.

I heard it was renamed the Triple-H: Harmes-Hunter-Hannon Cup. 🤷♂️

Oh [censored] that old [censored].

I'd laugh so hard if the Saints get over Geelong here

What is the point of goal umpires? That poster deflected at almost right angles mere feet from the unobstructed goal umpire.

And he's within half a season of Ooze.

No way they didn't see it. Oh that's right, it was to Collingwood's advantage that the kick into Sydney's fwd 50 was arrested. That makes sense now.

I'm going to throw up. What in gods name was that lump on top of Pendlebury's left shoulder!?!?!

I thought he had a shocker, but that being said I was also surprised to see harmsey out there getting a few tidy touches.

This is so infuriating! Why play him if he's not fit???

This may be a false memory, but I could swear I watched Nietz's first kick in AFL - a shot for goal that bounced off the top of the goal post.

"Fritsch" works beautifully as a verb in that sentence.

Jake Bowey to miss 8 weeks with broken collarbone
gs77 replied to DutchDemons's topic in Melbourne Demons
He was dropped for a while I think in 2022. A couple of minor injuries last year too mid-year. -
He must make his parents so proud.

Given the rugby-heavy market they are operating in, NSW-Vic rivalry, and the age demographic they'll be trying to reach, this is pretty funny trolling from them.

The TV coverage literally showed footage of Gawn's on field pre-game rev-up to the players, where he was saying (paraphrasing) "after everything we've had going on this pre-season, give me everything you've got for the first 5 minutes. The first 5 minutes. The other 115 minutes we can worry about when we get there." Seems he got the desired effect.

Do you really think Tim Lamb and co haven't been exploring the possibility of trading in a key forward since 2021? Hell, we brought BBB in that year to fill that precise need, which was a key part of our flag. We have drafted multiple tall forwards since (JVR, Jefferson), clearly conscious of BBB and TMac's injury situations. Dermott seems to think we've been sitting back in banana lounges oblivious to this need. It turns out, quality key forwards are [censored] hard to find, and teams that find one tend to pay them well, making it extremely hard to pry them loose.

It might surprise some on here, but it turns out that thermal comfort is not solely a function of air temperature, exhibiting an appreciable inverse correlation with humidity. Refer to the table below. The air temperatures of 23 to 24 deg C and humidity of 85-90% straddle the "uncomfortable" and "very uncomfortable" regimes.

Not if we don't play him.

...top 4 got a bit harder.

1) Billings was match fit, played well in the practice matches, and was promoted as one of our three debutants by our media team. Yet come game time he's warming the bench as sub and we see an ineffective and underdone Spargo take the field following an injury lay-off. This follows a litany of perplexing selection decisions going back to late last year (dropping energetic Turner on eve of 2023 finals, Schace as sub, etc.). Was this the right call? 2) do we have any insight into what alterations/initiatives McQualter might be bringing - what changes to our game play have you seen that might reflect his input? Could our generally atrocious kicking skills be counter-productive to changes we might be trying to implement?

Hoping just a stinger for Bowey. Fingers crossed.
