  1. Yes I agree- that’s why I’m i would rather rather 7, 15 and a F1st than 7&8
  2. Emmm, because the Suns won’t agree to it?! If we can’t force their hand to do a deal for BH our chances of getting them to do a deal where they won’t have enough points for their academy picks are very slim. Also if they go into deficit then their F1 will get pushed back. Makes far more sense for everyone to go 7,15 and a F1
  3. Yeah Suns wouldn’t have nearly enough draft points for this draft with the top suggestion.
  4. Think we’d need something in next years draft as well.
  5. With two 2nd rounders coming back the other way.
  6. If we can’t get BH then its far better to get good picks in now for a player that’s 30 years old going into next season and clearly doesn’t want to play for us. We may bottom out but should have enough quality young players on the list to bounce back. If we wait until Tassie come in we could be on the bottom for years.
  7. Even if we get completely bent over by GWS in the Oliver trade, we should be able to swap their future 2nd for our third next year. With the above trade it would give us two first and two second next year to load up before Tassie comes in.
  8. Would be a massive result for us. We don’t get the players we want but enough first rounders to set us up for the future.
  9. I don’t mind it at all Ted- from our point of view I’d rather hold onto pick 24 as we could pick up a slider or trade for a decent pick in next years draft. Throw them picks 28&41 instead.
  10. Clarry came out( through his manager) after his exit meeting and said he was happy and not going anywhere. He wanted to be here until we changed our minds. This is the problem I have with it all- not the decision I can understand that but how we have handled it. We made a balls of it last year and an even bigger balls of it this year.
  11. If we end up paying the reported $700k of his wages for the next 5 years this thread may end up being the biggest in DL history.
  12. Clearly not but he showed that he was getting back to form in the tail end of this season. Which is what GWS will be looking at. Averaging 28 disposals.
  13. Yup everything you’re saying seems to be how it is. I just can’t get my head around it- why didn’t we just give him the same speech at his exit interview that we have to Steven May? Or quietly shop him around like we did last year? Or have our starting position that if we get a decent pick we are willing to pay a big chunk of his wages. Bailey Smith had off field/mental health issues yet Geelong still paid his full wage and gave up a late first rounder. Still hoping what’s been reported is 100% and we get some sort of return for him. Preferably a decent pick next year.
  14. Sure it’s about that but it also has to be about a rebuild and we need draft picks or new players to do that. Surely we can’t pay $700k of his wages and get a future third round pick for a player that has been in our best 22 every week even when not fit and if he gets back to his best will be a top 10 player in the comp.
  15. What’s the weather doing in Melbourne today? Doesn’t look like bbq weather going of the forecast.
  16. I think I might have had a hand in that. I posted that WC are interested in trading for pick 7/8 and it got legs from there. I should have been clearer though, what I heard Cal say was WC were interested in trading up for either pick 7 or 8.
  17. At least this doesn’t mention pick 24 going back the other way. Too good a pick to give to GC for points.
  18. I’m going to have to rearrange how Wednesday looks work wise.
  19. Scrolling through the name of the 205 members currently on DL I don’t notice @demons forever however I did notice @Chook in Perth. Any updates ? I’m like a strung out junkie at this stage.
  20. I do it for 12 and their future second.
  21. WC apparently interested in pick 7/8.
  22. I post after his last game against the Pies that I thought he was getting back to his former self( 30 disposals at 86%) and that I would be gutted to lose him. I am gutted, but we move on. I can understand the decision though- but the way we have handled it is a [censored] joke and if we get a future 3rd rounder for him and still pay half his wages then somebody else needs to get there marching orders.
  23. I’m with you adonski. Even in today’s interview he wouldn’t rule out trading into this draft with our future picks.
  24. I’ve been in the trade Trac camp all season. For a few reason the main one is that we will get a good return for him to speed up our rebuild/renovate or whatever you want to call it. Picks 7&8 sounds like a fair trade to me(hold onto 24) although I would like us to improve our 2026 draft hand.
  25. Would be a massive get for us. Been hoping we bring in a former quality key forward to mentor and coach our emerging key forwards. Fingers crossed.
