  1. Grundy - best ruckman in the league Jackson - best 2nd ruckman/forward Jordon - one of the best taggers And Bedford, Hunt and Harmes are all better than Billings, Hunter and McAdam
  2. No Tommo? He was pretty stiff to be dropped
  3. Unfortunately our midfield consists of guys that just can't kick and hit targets. Yesterday, our core midfielders had a combined total of 13 effective kicks (Oliver 4, Viney 4, Windsor 3, Langdon 2). Compare that to the Swans (against arguably better opposition on Sunday) whose core midfielders had a combined total of 47 effective kicks (Heeney 8, Warner 13, Gulden 18, McInerney 8). But the Swans are on another level this year (in particular, fitness) thanks to a $40m handout in government funding that helped pay for an altitude training room with 45 watt bikes not to mention having exclusive access to the finest talent in their area via their academy (e.g. Heeney from Maitland, Gulden from Maroubra, Mills from Mosman, etc.). And yet we are still looking for a home training base since 1965 ☹️
  4. Agree. Disgraceful. Hope the thug gets his comeuppance one day
  5. May was booed louder and more often today than Maynard. Asked the filth next to me why and the reply: "Because May is dirty"
  6. i hope you've got a dictionary
  7. Not to mention the McRae directive to Maynard to take out Brayshaw. That was the turning point of the finals last year. We must reset next Monday and make the finals this year. Then anything is possible with a bit of a luck
  8. Not just premeditated. I have always wondered if it was a direct order from the coach. Has anyone ever asked the holier-than-thou McRae what his instructions to Maynard were before that fateful match? We had a birds eye view of the incident from Level 4 and it sure looked like to us that Maynard lined up Gus from 30m out. Still livid (and extremely sad and upset for Gus) over the whole incident. It was written in the stars that a Dees player would then get suspended under the new rule. The irony
  9. Petracca - laser like bullets van Rooyen - our 2nd ruckman Petty - versatility is gold Howes - most improved player Windsor - pace to burn
  10. FYI, just spoke to the SCG and all MCC members (any category) can purchase reciprocal members tickets (1 member and 1 guest) to this opening round match BUT only from the members ticket booth on the actual day, in person, from 5pm (half an hour before the member gates open). Seems a bit risky booking flights and accom if the members is a sell out on the day. Would be interested to know if any MCC members on this forum have purchased reciprocal members tickets to the footy up there recently and if there were any problems? I last used my MCC membership at the SCG almost 30 years ago and the members then was only busy on cricket days, not footy.
  11. This seriously can't be our medical report? Adelaide buried Jack Trengove in 2011 with their medical report
  12. 3 weeks. Straight to Appeals Board, where the lawyers hopefully re-enact the incident in person
  13. Mad Carlton supporter trying to be funny
  14. No doubt will soon find out....
  15. Lower centre of gravity - more like a bulldozer than a flying cannonball lol
  16. The only journo worth listening to is one of the most experienced - Mark Duffield in WA. He says Maynard "plays like a human cannonball":
  17. Father played for us in 1979 and brother in 2016
  18. Exactly what Trac said today: "I feel like the last three or four weeks we probably had a similar forward line and it’s worked really well so us mids need to get better at actually delivering the ball inside 50 better rather than blazing away and putting it on their heads.” One can only hope they all look up before they kick it into the forward line. And pray the subsequent shot on goal is straight and true!
  19. Why is Barrett on nickname terms with Maynard anyway?
  20. Says "toey" at 6.30 in that vid. It's all jovial talk but we all knew he was going to beeline someone. Such a wannabee enforcer - shame he never played on someone like Andy Goodwin
  21. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1026507/match-review-blues-forward-learns-fate-for-high-hit Challenging the ban. Surprise, surprise. Same lawyer for Cripps, Cerra, McKay, etc. no doubt?
  22. 9am
  23. Robbie had a broken collarbone (thanks to that other thug Dipper) so would never have played in the GF and the only brain fade was from the field umpire David Howlett who didn't hear the siren, you tw*t
