  1. Had 8 tackles last night, 3 inside 50. Reckon this is an overly harsh assessment.
  2. Which is exactly the same as written questions submitted to a 'real life' meeting. There's no difference. An open mic is an open mic whether it's on zoom or in person. Chat function questions = written questions.
  3. I don't know a lot about junior leagues and catchments, but I would have thought Moorabbin was in the Saints zone, not ours? (Especially given it seems the office is at RSEA Park) And that seems to be where the SMJFL is based? Not sure if I'm looking at the right info, but the league I'm looking at has no teams in our catchment zone. https://smjfl.com.au/league/clubs/
  4. Nah I don't follow the junior leagues mate, and nowhere did I mention anything about them. What are the two that we've apparently missed out on? Do you have the data on them as far as how many kids, what areas they're from etc? In what way have they been 'lured' to Dingley? It's not super close to Casey so seems interesting kids would be signing up to play somewhere half an hour away. Perhaps we just don't have the finances and resources to do what a huge club like Hawthorn does? Was only a couple of years ago MFC expanded their junior programs (South East Juniors development program), small clubs can only move so quickly and do so much. There's also all the work the Red & Blue Foundation does including Indigenous and Mulitcultural squads, girls academy, school open days at Casey, and the boys and girls U13s, 14s & 15s program I mentioned above. Just think the narrative that we don't do anything is incorrect and you need to judge it against our position financially as a club.
  5. Alright mate, it's just one preseason game. Put away the chalkboard, log out of footywire and have a cuppa.
  6. We had a similar hitout this time last year against the Dogs. Lots of injury outs, sloppy and a bit lazy at times. Wonder if Selwyn is tapering us towards round 1?
  7. Preseason last year...
  8. Cripps didn't even want to take that 50.
  9. Maxy on yet another poster. Lol.
  10. High on Petracca who came in second.
  11. We look very casual so far, reckon we'll play 1-2 hard quarters for the night and that will do it.
  12. No, that's not the case. Was merely using logic. Apologies for bringing that here.
  13. Yeah, if only we were improving our connection to Casey by say improving facilities, having some kind of family activities out there, maybe even getting the colours and name aligned... Would be amazing hey? And then, imagine having some kind of, say, 'Future Fund', directly in place for planning and investment... Again, amazing right? I guess the only thing holding us back is some kind of publicly announced plan. Something strategic perhaps for the next few years. That would be even better. If only...

  15. Maybe his brother doesn't want to move to Melbourne?
  16. That's no different to on zoom. Either way they don't know what the person is going to ask.
  17. They could do the same with a 'real life' presentation too. Fact is, if they call for open questions it's no different on zoom.

  19. Should have just left it at this really.
  20. They all have contact though. Pretty easy for example for someone to pass to Pert, who then has a meeting with Goody, who then goes and hugs the players...
  21. I didn't tune in, so can't answer, but I wonder if someone else who sat in on it can let us know if they had a question time?
  22. Definitely with you that an in-person AGM would have been much preferable. I wonder if the proximity to the season had an impact on the decision to not having a crowd? Would be pretty easy to have COVID passed on to the playing group only a short time before round 1, so I can only guess that may have played a part. The Bluey was back in December, so while not ideal, if there had been an infection there would have been plenty of time to have it pass as well as plenty of opportunity to isolate players and/or staff. At this stage of the preparations it's far more complex and damaging. In a COVID numbers context, 17 December was pre-Omicron and there were only 1,500 new cases that day as opposed to 7,100 yesterday. I think it's probably all just an abundance of caution.
  23. What transparency is lacking in your opinion H? Personally, I haven't found this election much different to the majority of past ones (excluding times of extreme turmoil), but maybe I'm not recalling properly. IMO, I believe some are confusing 'transparency' for 'negative interest' given all of our experiences of AGMs have generally been wanting to ask tough questions due to under performance.
  24. How do you 'edit out' questions in a live zoom OD? MFC web & digi team don't work 24 hours a day you may be surprised to hear. Given the AGM was last night, maybe give them at least until COB today to throw something together. Bit of MFCSS coming out in all this I reckon. Just won a flag, financials are great, board is stable, let's not create conspiracies that are not based in fact, we already have certain threads for that.
