  1. I mean, Luke Beveridge has had significant media training too...
  2. Ah bugger. I did worry about that when I heard Goody talking about the replacement defenders having to hold up for 4 or 5 weeks. Thanks mate.
  3. What makes you say that?
  4. Absolutely sensational moment with Buddy's goal and the crowd running on. Felt like we needed that to remind us that footy belongs to the fans, and an 'old school' footy moment like that did just that. The huge smiles from everyone involved, including Buddy, were unreal. I absolutely loved how it played out and that all the fans seemed to understand the moment. Let's not panic over things that didn't happen and just celebrate how it actually went. As for the Tuohy 'incident'... Are you guys for real? Tuohy had people running all around him, you can see him trying to weave through the crowd and then someone just runs straight into him. Calling it a 'shirtfront' is totally ridiculous. Tuohy was just about standing still when it happened, and he immediately pointed to the blokes wallet after he got up, not exactly the actions of someone who just assaulted someone hey? In both cases, let's not create things that weren't there or freak out over things that didn't happen, was an amazing moment all round and the fans needed it after the last couple of years..
  5. That's a lot of recognition...
  6. I got a separate email for each member of the family even though we manage them all together. Is it possibly that? And yeah, more off field goals for the club with this, really nailing it.
  7. Genuinely not sure what you're trying to say here? I'm suggesting: 1) It's totally ok for players to miss games if their mental health requires it. 2) If a journo gets the 'scoop' on a player missing selection due to mental health reasons then they should generally let the club handle the release of information the way they feel is best. AFL journos would generally be aware if a player is missing for any other reason than listed by the club and that's where the boundaries come in. I think you might find mental health is more complex than 'hurt feelings'.
  8. @Dante tried to PM you but says you can't receive messages, so leaving his here for you after our little silly battle we've been having. Wanna call a truce? Feels like two stubborn buggars just being stubborn buggars now. Too much of a good time for us long suffering types to be having cracks at each other.
  9. Would be very surprised if Bevo knew about it beforehand. It surely would have been more public if it had been leaked previously, and IMO was only leaked as 'revenge' for the wack bevo was coping in the media after the round 1 presser. There have been whispers about discipline issues with his players leading into the season, we've seen an earlier public example already, so IMO it was Bevo going into (over the top) defensive mode about someone digging into selection matters at the Dogs. Not saying Hunter was one of the players with discipline issues, don't know any names, but can imagine Bevo going the offensive knowing there's information leaking if there's a story lingering there.
  10. This attitude is so ridiculous. Someone doing something wrong isn't cancelled out by the fact someone else did something wrong. It's not really hard to understand if you're not looking to make excuses for behaviour you're seeking to condone. Can see the legal system now... "Look, I know he killed 17 people, but I got a parking ticket once so he's gonna have to be free of consequences..."
  11. Yeah, it's a little bit like the old chestnut with Brownlow votes: 3 votes - winning team, 2 votes - losing team, 1 vote - winning team. Few rumours going around Bevo has a bit to deal with behind the scenes, so might be an interesting few weeks for them with team selection, coaches votes and the like.
  12. I know this will sound full nuff, but despite Macrae having the better disposal efficiency %, and Smith's clangers maybe standing out more, I thought Smith's useful disposals contributed a lot more than Macrae's. Haven't watched the game multiple times though.
  13. Haha I thought I imagined that!
  14. Not saying he had a better game than either of them, just saying it's not that crazy he was in the coaches votes. Had a pretty fair game.
  15. You're dropping Jackson for Mitch Brown then? And he's also now behind Daw in the pecking order? That you Bevo?
  16. I mean, 33 disposals, 11 tackles, 7 marks and 8 clearances in just over 3/4s of a game is a decent hitout. Seems to be a heavier tint of red and blue on the glasses since the premiership.... ;)
  17. That Daniher bloke goes alright hey Demonlanders...
  18. Don't have a definitive answer, been trying to find out as well, but there's nothing on the Casey socials about practice games etc yet and round 1 is next Sunday for us, so I'm going to guess there might be a praccy or intraclub tomorrow. Anyone know for sure? Edit - Scratch that, looks like there was a praccy on Thursday night.
  19. You've got to actually try (or at least pretend) to keep the ball in play. He didn't do that. Just tucked the ball in and ran over the line. Too casual.
  20. 100% the coach IMO. Anyone else watch/remember the 'Making Their Mark' doco series? I think Dimma is a bit of a kn*b, but the difference between his team meetings and the Cameron ones were stark. Every Richmond player knew the answers to Dimma's questions, every hand up, positive and proactive, then cut to Cameron's ones and it was just him abusing a room full of young men all with their heads down and not talking.
  21. Perhaps, although as already mentioned, GWS may have been happy to snap up Dogga. I'm sure glad we did.
  22. I remember someone mentioning that here back around that draft I think, could have even been yourself. Taylor absolutely loved Green, I'm a fan of him now too, but he ended up leaning the right way hey!
