Can't see them adding Walker to a forward line with Cameron and Hawkins.

0 chance it's us. Would be out of Freo and Saints IMO.
  3. See above mate, already been addressed.
  4. Yep, you're right, fair call. 1 game he actually played - 15 touches, 4 turnovers, 2 clangers. That 1 game was against the Kangaroos...
  5. Is Gus 'super quick'? Is Jordon? Perhaps it's not just speed that makes a 'specialist winger'. He played 3 games last year. Averaged 5 disposals, 1 tackle and 1 mark. You seem to not know your history. Both were dropped numerous times before improving and earning their spots. Spargo played 8 games in each of 2019 and 2020. Neal Bullen spent a ton of time at Casey working on his competitiveness playing as an inside mid and was nearly traded end of 2020. Give it up mate.
  6. Ridiculous comment. Chances are earned, not given. All of those players have had times where they've had to earn another chance. Sparrow's first couple of years were very similar to Baker's, with almost the exact same number of games ('chances'). Do you honestly think their different trajectories since then is due to purely being given opportunities? Rubbish. Jordon's were even tougher due to injury but he earned chances and took them. Spargo's 2nd and 3rd years he had to do the hard yards, Harmes struggled early too. 'Given games'... Please.

Just a slight correction - He re-signed DURING that season, in July. And even thought he finished 3rd in the Brownlow, he was 6th in the Bluey that year.
  8. I'm just stating what the rules say.
  9. The rules aren't based on outcome though, they're about 'potential to cause injury'. Genuinely surprised anyone can try and conjure up way to defend that action.
  10. Sounds like Vines is likely in.
  11. TBF to you, I remember you posting a similar sentiment before and it was the first time I'd thought of it from that angle and won me over to that argument.
  12. I mean, the post said the exact opposite of what your comment implies?

    It's a curse isn't it?
  14. I mean, they could probably do with some change in their recruiting and list management department tbh...

And if either Jackson or Gawn miss game, who rucks? Daw? Weid is depth, he'd be being paid as such, no reason to force him out the door given it won't give us much cap space and we can't use 'Ham Sandwich' as a backup ruck or key forward depth.

Its not his 'official' nickname, it's just one kicking around supporters on social media. The players call him "Big Sexy". (Not kidding)
  17. They've just coined it for this article,, it's not the new 'quarterback'. Spargs is the number 1 player in the league for percentage of kicks inside 50 that result in a mark. This may help too:
  18. "No one in the AFL has a better percentage of marks taken inside 50 off his kicks than the 22-year-old small forward"

Disagree mate. TBH I've just come to the conclusion that AFL supporter culture has just become a whinge fest. There's issues, sure, but really think it's not as big and drastic as the engagement driven media would have you believe. Anyways, I'm contributing to it by posting more so I'll leave you guys to chat about it.

Maybe if you go back to he 70s or 80s, but as long as I can remember they haven't been too worried about making marks around the ground 'centimetre perfect'. And again, to clarify, my comment wasn't directed at your post as such, just really sick of how much AFL supporters talk about the umps. The vast majority of articles and news seem to be about them every week now. Can't think of any other sport in the world where it's as much of a focus and discussion point as it is with footy. Just wish everyone would focus back on the actual game and the players.

Umpires have always been pretty loose with exact marks around the ground. Also think we as supporters need to focus less on the umps. It's absurd how much of the weekly chat about footy is focused on them now. Not a dig at you sue, but a general comment. Really over it.
  22. Gus isn't going back into the middle.
