Not sure tbh, it was in an article rather than on a stats site so don't have last year's numbers in front of me. Anecdotally, it felt like last year we did go down the line a lot, probably to more success, but did also feel like we played on more often and switched more often.

Will be interesting. This year we are 1st for kicking down the line and 18th for switching. You're 100% correct Max is a big reason for this, but do we change that for a few weeks and then go back to it? Do we change it for good? Do we leave it and just try to do it better? It's also been noticeable how we've been avoiding Langdon's wing since his injury, would hope he's all good now after the break and it might resume more often? Really is a fascinating week tactically for us.

Offering him less than what the media has rumoured, and has already been rubbished, is not the same as 'offering him unders', which is what you originally stated. You make everyone fair offers, sell them on your culture and chances of success along with that. Tough talking, under offering and 'hard ball' will only see you lose players and get a bad reputation. Start running a club with a 'take it or leave it' approach and your list falls apart real quick.

This is a 10 out of 10 for how you don't want to run a professional football club. Disrespect one of your employees by offering them "unders" and then turn around and say they 'left for money'. Completely ridiculous.

Disagree on that part mate. He's not going to play better in the midfield than he currently is at half back, and on top of that; all it takes is one head knock and his market value dissipates.

Season averages: Brown - 8.1 disposals, 3.3 marks, 0.8 contested marks, 1.6 marks inside 50, 1.7 goals, 0.6 tackles Weid - 8.2 disposals, 3.2 marks, 1.3 contested marks, 1.5 marks inside 50, 1.5 goals, 1.2 tackles For clarity, I'm not saying Weid has been good by any stretch, but comparatively there has been very little talk about Brown's extremely poor 2022. Would also be interested if there was a stat about contests lost, as he seems to have been especially bad at that this year. Rated as 'below average' for 7 out of his 10 games this year, including the last 5 in a row. Brown is also miles behind his averages for 2021 in key areas like marks, contested marks, marks inside 50, tackles, inside 50s, and massively behind on metres gained - and some of those stats tell me he's not covering as much ground and applying anywhere near the same amount of pressure, yet he's averaging slightly more time on ground. The pressure should well and truly be on this senior player who absolutely is letting us down this year, instead of the ridiculous amount of focus on a depth forward on a short and minimal contract.

Come on mate, you're better than that. The players aren't executing, there's a mountain of discussion about why, but the problem isn't the game plan. If you believe that the coaches got together and said 'next year we're not going to pressure, we're going to clump our forwards, and we're going to turn it over as much as possible' then I think you need to reconsider your "I can only go on what I am seeing" philosophy.
