I agree. Not stating it as fact, just what I've heard. It's the harsh reality of a basket case club who finished 17th trying to attract a good player from a big club.

I always find it interesting as far as the difference in what a player will accept at different clubs. ie - Let's say Elliot stays at the Pies for 500K when we've offered 750k. Says a lot about how the industry perceives us as a destination in my opinion.

Mate of a mate who knows some Collingwood people, so not posting it as solid undisputed fact, just what I heard.

Adem Yze - Assistant Coach?
Read the previous posts for context mate, talking about senior experience as in as a senior assistant.

Dees offered 750k from what I heard.

Adem Yze - Assistant Coach?
Yze was a part time coach until 2015 though. Backline coach for a couple of years, then strategy coach for 1 year. Goodwin was an assistant coach for a few years, then senior assistant, then coach in waiting under Roos. Obviously not rating them as the same potential, but Goodwin had far more senior experience when appointed head coach.

Adem Yze - Assistant Coach?
Seems a big jump to go for a head coach position this year. VERY highly rated of course, but was only what you would consider a 'senior assistant' this year. Going to the Crows in their current state with his limited experience could be a disaster for his coaching career IMO.

Adem Yze - Assistant Coach?
Yze is now interviewing for the Crows head coach job...

Farewell Sam Frost
People are also forgetting that May is quite quick. They're all panicking about the loss of Frost's pace, but if May gets himself 100% this offseason they will forget all about him and start to witness an elite, quick, big defender who's also a great kick.

Josh Mahoney in the Media
Pretty clearly misquoting something to try and imply Lyon doesn't want to be considered a Melbourne person is an attempt to have a crack at him. I'll take your word for it that's what you thought you heard originally though.

Josh Mahoney in the Media
That's not what was said. Don't understand why Dees fans do whatever they can to try and attack Lyon.

Terry Wallace's Analysis of the Dees List
Meh. Don't really understand why people get so worked up about media people, let alone make personal comments about them. Only thing stranger to me is people getting upset that a media person says Melbourne have been no good, when clearly we've been no good, and those same people would have said Melbourne are no good right here most likely.

Terry Wallace's Analysis of the Dees List
Meanwhile, Wallace believes four teams are leading the race for the premiership. âThe sides that Iâm most confident of going into 2019 at the moment are Melbourne, Richmond, West Coast and Collingwood,â Wallace said. âThose four are in and good luck to the rest of the boys, youâre fighting for the other spots.â AFL legend Terry Wallace outlines teams that will improve, sink and swim in 2019

Do it. Has things we need, will likely get him for free and we need to take a few 'risks' to break the cycle.

2019 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem
Was a response to a poster who listed weaknesses that aren't backed up by stats. I thought he had a very good year up until the last 4-5 games, and I think some here are influenced by those more recent games rather than looking at the whole season, which is understandable. Let's remember he was surrounded by an ever-changing back 6 and had an extremely unaccountable and lowly-skilled mifield ahead of him.

2019 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem
Ranked number 1 at the Dees for metres gained this year. Ranked number 2 for effective disposals per game. Ranked number 2 for rebound 50s per game. Not sure the stats backup your assertions.

I'm still holding out hope as I think he'd be good for us, but everything I've heard is that he'll stay.

"I just went to have a chat with Walshy about a few changes happening ... I've got a few things happening in the next couple of days but hopefully (I'll stay at Collingwood)," Elliott said as he left the club on Thursday. Jamie Elliott leaves key meeting with Pies 'hopeful' of extension

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Not convinced they want them to give up this year's top 2 picks when the situation is so perfect for them. Getting Ablett didn't help their cause much, so I think this time it will be a different strategy rather than a big fish.

Our Indigenous Recruiting
Mate, I just don't think what you're saying has anything to do with players being Indigenous or not. You're giving examples that are more about cultural challenges and players seen to be a risk. I think you've missed the point in that it's more about we haven't had strong enough leadership or club culture to back ourselves in to handle or turn around a more of a 'rough around the edges' type of person. That has nothing to do with whether they're Indigenous or not.

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Yeah pretty stock standard answer I would have thought. Hard to see them giving up this year's draft opportunity.

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Gold Coastâs GM of List & Strategy Craig Cameron has declared picks No.1 and 2 arenât off the table, but it would take something âextraordinaryâ to move them on. The Suns will have the first two selections in this yearâs draft as part of the AFLâs rescue package to help the struggling club. Oakleigh Chargers pair Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson remain likely to join Gold Coast with the opening two picks, but Cameron is open to trading the prized selections for the right player. âThey (picks 1 and 2) arenât off the table,â Cameron told Telstra AFL Trade Radio. âThe players at the top of this yearâs draft I think are exceptional players, so it would take something extraordinary to move those selections. But it would be silly of us to say theyâre off the table." What it would take for Gold Coast to trade picks 1 and 2

Our Indigenous Recruiting
Whelan was drafted in 1999. Davey in 2004. Aussie 2007. Jurrah 2008. You've listed 4 players drafted over a 10 year span seemingly as an example of how 'often' we recruited Indigenous players. We had 5 Indigenous players on our list this year.

Gaff or Andrew Brayshaw Rumour
Why would we trade pick 3 for Gaff when he could very well be a free agent next year?
