  1. Genuine question, why does it matter where our 'support base' is statistically geographically located or where the 'population' centre is? There's only ever a handful of people who go to training, it's not exactly a big attraction. You don't all of a sudden start getting fans because of where your home base is, just ask GWS and GC. Winning does that. We have the family day at Yarra Park, a social club is a terrible idea, I don't really understand the preoccupation with making our training base a good location for supporters? Way more important that it's a good location for attracting players and staff I would think.
  2. Yeah, I personally wouldn't think Melksham would come out, but if Fritsch pulls up then you never know I guess?
  3. If Fritsch is right (doubtful) I have a feeling he might come in for Melksham. Fox Footy's 'selection whispers' is saying his spot is under some heat. Weid for Brown a lock, May for Petty all but locked in, IMO.
  4. I do hope you're pronouncing that correctly DZ.... ;)
  5. Opinion or got the good word mate?
  6. Goody gave a special mention to ANB tonight on 360. Was talking about the leaders in the club, he brought up the core group around Gawn being Viney, Lever, May and ANB.
  7. 'Dropped' due to injury. Didn't train today, clearly named as emergency in case he's right in time and is needed.
  8. I hear ya mate, and I was a big critic of him last year. Just think, in form, he's a weapon for us and this is his best chance to find that form. A role where he can be a bit selfish and focus on kicking goals. Wouldn't be against Chandler getting a shot, just think that totally changes our forward setup though.
  9. Fair enough, respect your views mate, just disagree on the roles. Fritsch isn't a key forward for mine, and I don't think bringing in a big lumbering type helps our forward line continue to be flexible, unpredictable and high on pressure. FWIW, Fritsch leads our marks inside 50 (by a fair way), then Trac, Jackson, and all of TMac, Gawn and Melksham are equal after that. I just think replacing a nimble leading forward with a big non-agile type will muck up our mix.
  10. Yeah I hear ya, I guess for mine we can cover that with a mix of TMac, Jacko and Gawn.
  11. I'd probably just keep Sparrow in, rather than as sub. He's better at the grunt and pressure up the ground than Melksham. I reckon Melksham's best shot is as a leading forward/half forward type rather than a mid now. Petty comes in for May, probably Hibberd as sub.
  12. Bit surprised people are suggesting players like Mitch Brown and Daw. IMO Fritsch is a more rangey type, good on the wide leads and flexible enough to kick a few opportunistic goals. I wouldn't be replacing him with a big lumbering forward. Put Melksham into Fritsch's role. He's better as a finisher anyway, doesn't do enough higher up the ground.
  13. Or it could be that there was an obstacle during that time and now that obstacle has been removed...
  14. Like this a lot. Melbourne and Richmond will pay tribute to Australian Football Hall of Famer Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes on Anzac Day Eve. Foxfooty.com.au can reveal an annual best on ground medal will be awarded in his honour, starting with this year’s game on April 24 at the MCG. Hughes was a dual premiership player and one-time premiership coach for the Tigers before leading Melbourne to the 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1948 flags. Exclusive: New Anzac Eve medal to honour Hall of Famer Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes
  15. So they should be too, pretty much running the place atm.
  16. Not totally sure, sorry mate. My gut feel is it's about the money, but that's my own personal feeling, not based on anything else.
  17. They're working on it apparently. not sure how close it is to getting done etc, but the club is already onto it with Trac, they're not waiting until next year.
  18. It's not Connors, but it is his agency. I believe he is managed by Robbie D'Orazio.
  19. Don't be surprised if we see Petracca being re-signed before Oliver.
  20. As far as the AFL ratings go, this year he's rated as 'elite' for one percenters, tackles, pressure acts, intercept possessions and spoils. He has a crack and is in it for the team for sure.
  21. Ok, so you're saying then that Melbourne are a bigger club than Collingwood? I mean, we've won more flags than them in the past 63 years right? Come on mate. Silly comment. Collingwood are a massive club with a lot of money and power. Taylor Adams is their reigning BnF winner and an All-Australian. He's be an ok recruit wouldn't you say? The reality is, like it or not, Collingwood are a big club with a lot of pull and power. If you're trying to write them off or label them as a dumb club then I think you're not being 'realistic' at all.
  22. No, I love stats, I just don't think "sixth most defensive half pressure acts" is particularly meaningful. The kicking efficiency I listed was his year to date. TBH I think we're wanting the same thing, for Gus to become the player he can be, but we're just perceiving his current performance differently. Let's move on hey. Happy with the win, hoping Gus continues to improve and starts to perform to the level he's capable of. Cheers.
