  1. So, in this apparent role of 'defensive winger' where he's rated so far as below average for pressure acts, tackles and one percenters, he's 'playing it well'? Can't say I agree mate. But at least he's going at 50% by foot hey.
  2. Yeah it's a tricky one. I guess it will come down to if the coaches are happy with him doing a minimal role or if they think they can make him the player he seemed like he could be a few years ago.
  3. Jake Melksham was impressive for Casey, certainly knocking on the door for selection at Melbourne after imposing himself on the game and kicking two goals. โ€œMelky was strong in the contest,โ€ Corrigan said. โ€œHis craft around the ball was really good and he was able to hit the scoreboard with a couple of goals - he certainly put his hand up (for selection).โ€ VFL: Casey wins a close one over the Kangaroos
  4. Pathetic. Here you go: https://www.magshop.com.au/Products/NIW/new-idea-magazine-subscription?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIz7HM6YLU7wIVCZ1LBR02SgpzEAAYASAAEgJ17fD_BwE
  5. Yeah. None of your business. Googling gossip articles by trashy news sources doesn't exactly help your point here. Billy doesn't own Nicky. No one has to keep him 'in the loop' about what his ex is up to. You're allowed to do whatever you like, but if you choose to spend your time speculating on the personal relationships of public people then it says more about you than them though.
  6. Rubbish post. Not that it should be your business, but they were well and truly separated before anything developed between Garry and Nicky. Might be hard for you to understand, but she is not "me missus", she is a person in her own right with her own free will. Garry has gone through his own mental health battles and been pretty open about it all, especially given he's a pretty private person generally. He's also lost one of his best mates to this fight. Who are you to jump on the internet and start making personal judgments about people, none of whom you know, while trying to talk up the mental health cause.
  7. Hey AF, we chatted about it during the week (and disagreed a little but that's footy), but thought Oliver's pressure and intensity was up a notch to my eyes this week. Doubled his tackle count from the previous week, which you'd be happy about! Also had more clearances and contested possessions. Maybe I'm giving credit where it's not due, but felt like Viney really lifted the centre mids with his intent in the opening minutes and Clarry went with him. Whatever it was, he lifted in that area IMO and deserves the credit.
  8. Yeah that's a fair point mate I can see how that's the impression you would have. The club did put out info though via the website and sounds like a few emails to specific databases. I guess what I'm saying is; post-COVID, staff reductions, ever changing restrictions etc it's a bit of a new world for footy-going and we might have to all be more proactive than we have in the past just to get to games.
  9. Was posted on the website, the link was in my reply to you. Given the amount of groundwork you put in with booking accommodation, servicing your car etc, it doesn't seem too crazy to perhaps jump on the club website or google info about tickets while doing all that, bit unfair to put it all on the club for not doing everything for you. By the sounds of it, they've sent an EDM to the NSW/ACT member database rather than everyone. Potentially this is due to lack of available tickets as well as maybe not encouraging people to travel interstate given the unpredictable situation around borders right now (just ask the Lions). Everyone seems pretty quick to jump on the club about anything and everything in this area when often there's info already available online. With the cuts to club staff maybe we need to change our expectaions around how much we need to organize ourselves.
  10. The club posted info about this on 11th March. Round 3 - GWS Giants v Melbourne - Manuka Oval Away member pre-sale opens 9am on Thursday 25 March via Ticketek. Tickets will then open to the public at 12:00pm the same day. Member Ticketing Info
  11. Sure, the wing can be a spot where you don't get as many tackles or put on as much pressure, but that should also mean you're involved more in receiving the ball and linking the play, so 13 touches, 9 of which were effective, is nowhere near enough of a contribution. Why is he automatically the best option? He's clearly not playing well or that suited to being a winger. I believe you're saying that because of his potential rather than his actual output. Again, I believe we have too low a bar set for Gus.
  12. Hopefully someone like Choco can work out the secret to unlocking Gus' full potentital, just hasn't been fully working for him for a long time now. He can be so much better than what he's shown the last 2 years.
  13. I didn't say he has. I said probably no change, but Melksham could potentially come in. That 'potentially' would be based on what the coaches have seen from him at training and in the VFL praccy games.
  14. Look, I agree mate, Melksham has been disappointing for a while, but Gus isn't clicking and dropping him has worked in the past, and I'm just trying to think of whom the most likely candidate for his role would be.
  15. 75% kicking efficiency this year. The knocks on his kicking are over the top.
  16. Yeah I think it's most likely no change, but he absolutely should be on notice. You can't be an outside player who doesn't pressure but also has poor disposal.
  17. 50% kicking efficiency so far this year. Also rated as below average for pressure acts.
  18. Jones had 14 touches, 3 tackles and a goal. I'd have him ahead of Gus as it stands. Not by a lot, but pretty surprised with the low bar people have set for Gus these days.
  19. I'm not a massive rap for Melksham's form over the last year or so, but I would be open to the idea of dropping Gus to help him find form. Worked a treat in 2018 after all. Disagree he played well last week. For mine, his chasing and pressure was poor, but it went under the radar because he got a couple of 'lucky' tackles where players ran straight into him. Disposal was poor last week also. 5 clangers and 4 turnovers last week. I like Gus, but he's not in form by any stretch and from a culture point of view we have to back up the talk from the offseason about egos and not carry the popular blokes for game after game when they're not playing well.
  20. Happy to hear your argument for Gus staying in. Was borderline last week, poor this week IMO. 13 touches, 0 tackles tonight.
  21. Rapt with the win, but just as happy that there was some innovation from Goody. The defensive flooding wasn't helping us in the second quarter and previously Goody would have stuck with it, but he moved things around, got more guys forward and put Jacko in the ruck and it totally shifted the momentum. Credit to him.
  22. No thank you.
  23. Probably no change, but could be tempted to take Gus out for Melksham potentially.
