  1. Not in a SF.
  2. Had a good look at Duursma in tonight’s game. Just no. I remember him being the best out of the lot of the youngsters they picked up in the 2019 draft. What happened to him.
  3. A bit? I’d be having nightmares for the rest of my life if I was the recruitment team. Having Trac, Oliver, Gawn, Curnow, May in the same team… would be a thing of beauty.
  4. It’ll be the sole reason we don’t win another flag. Forward connection and turnover transition is what they need to work on preseason drill after drill after drill. No more excuses. Lions are ordinary bar a few decent players but they play their system and use their advantages so well.
  5. I wonder if Kingy says we should get 75% of tickets against the Blues as the home team.
  6. This is almost game over. Port will not beat GWS either with this footy.
  7. Chance of a free to Jones there? Cameron goes up for a screamer doesn’t even touch it.
  8. Hearing that a certain AFL tribunal member who will unlikely participate in the hearing itself saying it’s a straight forward 3+ weeker.
  9. It’s very premature (I know) but what would losing Gus to retirement do to our list - I cannot even begin to fathom. Would we get some form of compensation if this did happen? Is there any avenue for such a thing? Losing a player in his prime years, through a cowardly act of thuggery is not bad luck.
  10. Carlton will be battered and bruised. No McKay, Martin Crippa Ribs - looks sore Acres - shoulder.
  11. It’s a complete mind-boggling out-of-this-world load of [censored]. Default is a goal, overrule by evidence. It’s the simplest rule tweak possible and yet nothing.
  12. Having Wayne Carey wouldn’t solve our problem. It’s ball movement and forward connection that is the issue., Isolate the forward line and they kick bags. Need better ball users plain and simple.
  13. Doesn’t his old man work for Melbourne? Maybe skip work today.
  14. Is it possible that the smother was an unrealistic attempt? - it looked very late and the follow through was completely unnecessary - it looks very accentuated - almost searching for contact. A smother in desperation is usually a dive at the players feet, not into the players head, which makes this IMO a non football action. It was unorthodox, executed carelessly (or intentionally but we’ll never be able to prove that) so he has to be rubbed out. Double demerit points (for finals) too.
  15. Dirty dirty player. He will cop a fine for that - should be more.
  16. That smother attempt looked very unusual to me and it looked like he was trying to make contact with Brayshaw. The media have rolled out the football incident pretty quick so I expect this doesn’t even get cited. Was such a bloody let down tonight. Fair to say we outplayed them for most of the night but just couldn’t make it work. Im not in the mood to pot players atm but it’s fair to say we really lack composure with the ball and that is really killing us. I can’t see us beating Carlton either so a straight sets exit is looming once again.
  17. Watch us start with absolutely no gusto or desire to get this game back on our terms. So many people off the pace of this game.
  18. Watch us start with absolutely no gusto or desire to get this game back on our terms. So many people off the pace of this game.
  19. It’ll all pass before the game starts I think. Think rain bands moving quickly W->E and N->S.
  20. I’d have to change my handle to Gawnstein . It has potential.
  21. He is a medium forward and equaled NicNats running vertical leap record. Not a bad recruit.
  22. He was pretty quick from memory? Half back role maybe?
  23. i look at it another way. It is a statistical inevitability that someone will eventually win from 4th. This year will be that year!
  24. If the game plays out as we all expect, we will be scoring mainly through turnover. This is ideal for Tommy as he'll often be isolated with his key defender, without having others ready to zone off and intercept as they will likely be caught out of position. If we move it quick enough he will make it count.
  25. The forecast has definitely changed. The cold front they were expecting on Thursday night is coming in Friday now. There will still be a weaker front coming in the late afternoon, which will make the ground wet. However the wind is predicted to be up, which 1) could help dry the deck out more quickly 2) would add a different challenge to the game in goal kicking and general kicking accuracy.
