That is about the level of this comment Stormy. Give Jake your support you have obviously forgotten his ability and team ethos in defence and will be back bigger and better than ever ASAP.

Hit the nail on the head DV8 Reckon we are getting only 80% of the real Trac. (Contrast with Clarry 100%) He is/has such talent he has been able to be good without that extra 20% that is needed to star consistently (or be a superstar) in the AFL. He needs to build his tank (to be an elite midfielder ) and change his ball drop when kicking set shots for (to make the most of forward chances). Get those things right and his confidence is sky high and he will lose his nervous occasional dropping of mark/s and fumbling. Ie not so much pressure on him as he is more relaxed. Melnourne coach/Ed need to demand and expedite this get Trac on board via another player with fitness and the other faults with the forward coach ( who needs changing BTW). Happy Trac days and he will be the star we all can see but don't get the value of watching and performing. He also does not handle criticism well and is hard on himself but AFL is the hardest of gigs so he needs every little advantage to get that 20% extra to take us to the next level and be the best version of ourselves!
-
Bit tough naming the Casey boys when it was Jeffy Tommy and Trac who didn't nail the GOALS. Yes out field kicking needs work also I admit but a bit unfair.
-
I think he is older played with Aspley in Qld and I suspect from memory Oskar was a older recruit. Potential though and good to work on for future!

Thanks TGR sorry I missed your post (quoted just know that U hadn't seen any examples) Stephen May came back after half time vs Cats at Geelong not when the game was dusted ie late 3rd Quarter. And (only my opinion ) Jack bullied the Coach and selectors and prob doctors and was allowed like last week to make his mind up how his body (foot) was.I agree this was a debacle and was surprised when it seemed to reoccur again last Sat so far with a good result. JV was great in the last 49 secs !! I believe Joel is the only recent case but maybe Jack Trengove could have "slipped" through the net in the last 5 years. Agree I think new medicos and a review of this at end no matter what eventuates in 2019 is necessary. Aldo U believe the line coaches should also be nervous about 2020on!
-
I'd be very happy if Jon Patton could do the same for us ie 60 games 50 goals and BOG in the Granny. Actually let's use Pruessy as the equivalent on about 4/10 of the money!!!
-
Agreed Smokey I asked TGR and haven't seen any and I volunteered Joel Smith. I was looking for from say Goody era not 2013 on. Agree we weren't on the money with Jack Trengove but I have no doubt at all ( my own opinion only) that Jack Viney declared himself available for us in late 2017 vs Port and it was not Club Officials who forced him. Yes it was like last week and I reckon Goody took his word (Prob too scared to argue ) Are we looking at Gawny R1 this year or when ? Other than that I can't recall any others. in 1998 we were the same going to Perth plenty injured and Robbo came up trumps and other DLanders and myself have referred to This game that got us going again to a Prelim. a great challenge but hero's are born in these circs. TMac May need to kick 4/5!
-
DV that may be so but it seems to have taken a long time fir the OP to be diagnosed and now is the injury Joel is fighting. I think we may have to wait fir the book by Misso or Todd or Maxie to find out. Surely a Medici in Oz somewhere can enlighten us with some knowledge of the risk of deteriorating or worsening an injury with exertion or no rest afterwards. To be fair our medicos have done well in the Roos early Goody era but think they have suffered this year and are under extreme pressure now due to some suspect times of recovery and a couple of shockers that gave string out indeterminedly plus the programs for all the surgical 15 and limited pre season training sessions due to late 2018 and extra leave under AFL tules around Christmas. I reckon we are about up with all other teams fitness now and our last 2 fourth quarters has enabled to get the points. Dont forget we had a handful of more scoring shots and plenty I50 entries to assist. I still await TGR's response! Thanks for your comment DV maybe the jury can sto brig out on this matter.

My Goodness The Stats are so damning. We should not be surprised as sadly the mid field are chocking up good stats but the real efficiency of their efforts is wasted. Time for Plapp Chaplain and the defence coach to save their collective jobs. Get those figures to say 33/34 and the results will take care of themselves EVEN with a truckload if injuries. Maybe this week will see this "don't care approach" of slamming the ball on our boots and flaying a handpass in the general direction of a teammate to cease. we will be surprised if our connection improves and wrapped with the results! Coaches start coaching a real plan with detail care and skill and 2018 will no longer be a memory.

Seeing Jake running and about to play at long last around would surely add a spring and extra heart beats to all the Group. Just the thought of him, Mitch Hannan and JKH ready (rven allowing for the dreadfully unlucky Hibbo and Milkshake ) should out real purpose in the minds of the group, Of course that has to be followed up by a steely resolve and positive outlook to take on the game and combine effectively in scoring. Remember Robbo's game in 1998 when we started long odds off about a 100 pt thrashing from the Cats and he kicked 7 Goals I think we need Tommy Mac to do the same as he did in 2017 to get us over the line. Go Dees and good luck Jake L plus Mitch and JKH in their comebacks. Guys we need you !
-
TGR you have some credence in your argument but please list at least "6/8 overt examples" otherwise you are grossly exaggerating. l will start off and name Joel Smith JLT 2 now it's over to you....... PS No and spate of injuries and sending back on the field threatening an existing one are 2 different issues! And of course the elephant/s in the room are the 15 players who had pre-season surgeries!
-
PS We also have a 9 day break which should be in our favour after this Friday!
-
Sorry RL can't agree. That is tantamount to "tanking" and we know what that will do to our brand. Most players in that group are in good form and have put in the hard yards after any surgery or pre-season blip. Just imagine also the potential effect on confidence to the "Casey players" for their season. We are not that far away if we can cobble together 15 goals something we could fight this game out heroically. Imsgine the atmosphere and lift this would give our whole list. (the Casey Demons won an unwinnable game on the weekend based on ladder form and player availability. Why can't our AFL team do the same the same? GWS are ripe for picking on the MCG so let's hope we can win both and surprise the footy world again at Optus Stadium.

Really DJ there is always a sceptic in any crowd that can deflate a mood or celebration. And I am afraid you win this title by a handsome margin. To dredge up something from a quarter of a century ago when the Club was under completely different structure and management upon recording our greatest membership total EVER you pour oil on still waters! You have no proof from your post (nor have others) but the increase of 9,000 new or first time members no doubt relates to our 2018 heroics!!! Also 1,000 new Juniors is fantastic. Also by association you create doubt by your mischievous post on the noble and hard work largely by PJ and his Office over the last 6 /7 years plus any MFC player, staffer and volunteer. Some things are often left unsaid and this one opinion that would come into that category. Unless you have any proof at all I suggest that that thread be discontinued from 70,000 Members thread and allow Perty to pursue with our reaching our targets. Congratulations are in order to all the old faithful the new members and any others about to begin on this journey. Additionally the Club staff and Board and Executives are all to be commended richly on this result. I am positive that after witnessing ONE minute of genius from our players on Saturday this season is still much alive and will be a ride that PJ has said and all that we can be pleased to be on. Go Dees
-
Yes I back that up Dr Gonzo someone said that 6,000 Demons fans turned up!! Didnt look much more That is ONE in EIGHT of our members to a REPLACEMENT HOME GAME!!!!!!! And those who chose to miss the game think about it next year when it's our turn to host! We need marquee games vs the big Clubs and fans to support us not just when all is going well. And please no members complain they can't sit in their regular seats and have to go to General Admission seats! There really isn't a bad seat in the house!! Record Membership yes but RECORD MEMzbERSHIP not attending !!! Hope 42,000 think about it and wonder why the Skiers down hill joke is shoved down our throat. We are better than that Dees but PJ didn't say there wouldn't be a road crash or three on the journey! Get your RACV Dees clothes on and get the guys back in form and winning!
-
You make a point L36 but please get some rationale and sense in your post. Only Hogan and possibly Watts were in any position to influence our fortunes in any major way when leaving. To say Bugg Pedo Tyson and Kent are the reason for our fall in form is ridiculous. Also Bernie is allowed to retire! Clubs have to turn depth players over and look fir youngsters to develop. we haven't made any real progress yet other than Fritsch and that is hurting with injuries to About 6 players who normally would be in our best 22. Also our coaches and players seem to be on different paths at present and I don't know how we solve these problems,
-
Agree there seems to be disconnect in all three forward defense and mids. Assistants need to go and other Clubs need to be raided especially the successful Clubs Coaches. And while we are at it let's get a replacement AFLW coach to teach the girls a game plan that stands up at Casey Fields!

Who's Rooke?
-
The faith and persistence of a picket in the fence! Serious ly please don't try and make out you area dedicated fan. What crocodile tears!! Msny supporters here have followed us for decades and attended 300/400 matches continuously and you have FIVE this year and it's too much for you. Through the tough years 13 to 16 this century We don't need fair weather fans please play your self indulging golf game and then choose when to return when we win 3 in a row games. Cheers and goodbye PF

It's a replacement home game !!
-
Sorry Hore had goals kicked on him by Membrey but still got some kicks. Ie was loose Agree with Hibbo he started on Membrey I reckon but he is too slow now and kicking not as good as before. Spargo Corey And Josh plus Tommy we're terrible Weid had chances but poor disposal let himself down and Milkshake played his worst game for 2 years. Coaches all had a bad day and no No moves were tried when the game was in the balance ie 6/7 mins into 3rd quarter. Modt disappointing loss as Saints were well drilled we weren't. 2018 Game Plan needs complete update and what have the coaches done all summer ? Nothing it looks like it !
-
It's time for every supporter to now get behind Oscar and help build his confidence. We will need either he or Frost as 3rd tall at some stage and the better the form the stronger the backline and team. Lets move on positively please.
-
Yes but speed is only good if you have the ball or get it 30 occasions in a match and unfortunately (much as I would like Billy to) he just keeps coming up short. as also he stops play and doesn't have he footy smarts to switch or a short kick Could someone please do s check on his handball/kick ratio. Very low I imagine .

Same here from Bris Vegas after seeing the 10 goal mauling of the Lions by the off the leash Pies. They would have only had 5/10 mins in the first quarter of any doubt and they were in total control of the situation throughout really. Nearly every line had skill and pace and the belief looks so real it is going to carry them to mountain top or very very near again. i will be at the G on Sat (taking the road of nearly 30 years ago and done over the preceding 28 mostly cold and unsuccessful winters of the well worn Punt Rd and parking in Yarra Park) due to the South and Eastern train hiatus. And of course the highlight of the brilliant combination of sport and national history on Anzac Eve for the third successive time looms large as season shaping as we strive to claw back our tardy 2019 start. i suspect we have not given the Club, coaches and players (minus the dozen potential injured stars and soldiers albeit) the faith or benefit of doubt many manically resorting to the Same Old Melbourne tag. How dare we do this hopefully at our eternal peril as Peter Jackson has said many times our journey will have road blocks and we will have to learn to negotiate these. i believe we are still a work in progress young with too many VFL soldiers doing their Level best and we will be much better near seasons end than now as about a dozen stars and valuable B graders get us back to the potential shown in 2018. GO Dees (61 years on!)
