St Kilda has told clubs it is open to splitting one of its top-10 selections in this year’s draft as part of a strategy to capitalise on the depth in this year’s talent pool. I'd be surprised if we didn't take at least one 'proper' midfielder. With that being said, I have a lot of faith in Rivers being a big part of our 2025 midfield group and beyond. I thought what he showed in the middle in the last 6-8 or so weeks of the season, when our team as a whole was pretty much cooked, was very encouraging.

He's the style of player we seem to like, plus with Rivers moving into the midfield it may make sense.

I guess what teams will weigh up with Langford is if he's a liability in centre bounces, you're pretty much paying up for an expensive medium sized forward

One of the more intriguing players on the list, has the athleticism and talent, but never looked totally settled at the level, at least to the point where he did much with ball in hand A big watch for 2025

Looks like he's happy to crash packs, good speed too. I think he's looks decent, whether he's worth bypassing the more highly rated mids at pick 5 is another question.

If Norf swapped with Richmond, and we do love Armstrong, wanting to get in before the Saints have the chance to pick him, there's a world where both Smillie & Langford are available for the Saints. Question is would they double up on big bodied mids? Worst case scenario if we went early on Armstrong is we miss all of the more highly touted midfield options, even Smillie. 1. Rich - Lalor 2.
