  1. Usually we get a better result when plan A doesn't go our way Going to the draft is a win even if our hand was forced from the Houston stuff Part of me did understand Richardson's logic at the time though, we lost Jordon, Harmes, Brayshaw, Grundy and replaced them with kids for the most part Or in Gus' case, didn't replace him with anyone given the timing of his retirement
  2. Juicy
  3. Hope its 40 + F1, rather than 28 + F1 5, 13, 28 would be mint

Hearing from an excellent source that Clarry has requested a trade from Geelong to Melbourne
  5. You'd have to think either the Dons have told us to bugger off and/or they have a better offer elsewhere, so we've turned our attention to 13
  6. Hawks putting P14 on the table

via The Age Clayton Oliver has started his own pre-season early, as the 27-year-old clings on to hope that Melbourne will trade him to Geelong before next Wednesday’s deadline. The four-time Melbourne best and fairest has been spotted several times in his home town of Shepparton this week, training weights and running. A source at Geelong, who wasn’t willing to speak publicly given that Oliver still has six years of his contract still to run at Melbourne, said the star midfielder was willing to take a pay cut if it helped get a deal across the line. ....But Melbourne’s strong stance has not dampened the appetite of Oliver, who remains in contact with the Cats. A pay cut may help the Demons reconsider a trade, but two club sources remained staunch when contacted by this masthead on Thursday. They said a deal to move Oliver to the Cats would not be entertained. Oliver is contracted until the end of 2030 at an average of $1.3 million per season. While all three parties – Melbourne, Geelong and Oliver’s management – have privately confirmed that the Cats’ future first-round pick in next year’s national draft had been initially raised, they say there is yet to be a meaningful trade offer beyond that.

  13. Clubs, including Melbourne, are expected to come hard at the Bombers for the No.9 pick using future first and second-round selections, which would open the door for Essendon to slide out and match Kako with later picks. – Callum Twomey
  14. Perryman is a nothing player If the Pies want to sell the farm for Dan they should, they have little young talent, Daicos x2 aside If no Houston means we hit the draft harder than expected, he's saved us from ourselves

  17. I'd have no hesitation giving 10 + 18 if I'm the Dokkahs 10 and 11 is too rich however
  18. Budget LDU sort of vibe, has something
  19. I'd be hoping we retain #28, too good a pick to throw away
  20. Kako has already been the name floated, Essendon would match the bid though
  21. MELBOURNE has interest in trading its future first-round pick for one of the Fremantle's first-round selections this year as the Demons look to double-up on talent in the upcoming draft. Fremantle list boss David Walls on Monday confirmed the Dockers have interest in flipping one of their three 2024 first-round picks into a 2025 first-round selection, depending on how their quest to land trade target Shai Bolton fares. "That's definitely a chance. There's a lot of clubs keen to get back in so we'll see what happens at the end of trade period and see how many of the first-rounders we're still holding and if we've traded or not," Walls told Gettable Trade Radio on Monday. "If we're still holding three, we'd definitely look to roll one forward because we think there's a strong market for it and we could get overs."
