the problem is we have this reluctance to try new things. Every time we lose a game we drop a forward, hannan, ANB, hunt and spargo and when we do, it is another of this same group that replaces them. Same deal began to happen across the park this year (although somewhat down to injuries) When a mid went down it was vanders who came in when jordon and dunkley r there and we dont know if they're at the level but we wont find out when hibbo missed a week it was harmes in the backline or ??jwagner?? playing what about chandler (believe he was training there over summer) when a forward had 4 touches they bring in another of these guys that we know what they offer at the level and theres a reason they aren't in the side consistently. i think its time (and look at how port transformed their list) - baker, sparrow, jordon, bedford, petty, chandler, dunkley need to be next in next season so we can see if they're up to it and the next 3-4 guys we recruit + the say two who fall out of the 22 and those already contracted can fill their role in the twos alongside a couple of others. otherwise we are stagnating development and we end up with 10 players with no experience on the list just being passengers and ineffective players repeatedly offering us nil in the seniors but staying on the list as "good cover" i feel like i havent really phrased my argument too well but hopefully yall understand kinda what im aiming for here
  3. not seeing enough love for narkle as a high HF rolling through the guts

rookie upgrades count as draft picks so lockhart presumably takes up one and if the list setup changes and we have to upgrade more then it counts as draft picks
  5. cerra, andybray, serong, fyfe, walters. im not believing this

why would u put 2-3 years developing both these boys to ship them off for a mid range draft pick in a compromised draft... these two have shown the most promise and most chance to break into the 22 consistently

if you look at it every single club has roughly 8 list changes every season on average from premiers right through to spooners. + an extra 2 for the shrinking of list sizes its pretty realistic, and u cant say theres not 10 players on our list that shouldn't leave
  9. u cant say you'd consider him at 28 ahead of witherden, cumming, saad? witherden - out of favour 3rd rounder gets it done cumming OOC - 3rd rounder gets it done saad OOC early second rounder and swap some late ones probably gets it done
  10. obvious is a stretch...
  11. smith 2.0 different end each season. plz dont ruin a promising career @simon

ladhams could leave port, they drafted a bloke called hayes in the first round of the draft two years ago they really rate. ladhams is a relatively natural forward too. pete wright another one sav ratugolea? contracted but daniher and cameron linked there and fell out of favour but does clunk them schache - idk what the dogs r doing there but probably a 2nd/3rd tall type so not ideal next to weid and LJ

dunkley essentially a first year player this year you'd think he gets one more to develop bradtke is developing ruck and paid outside the salary so no way he goes. hes a long term prospect ANB is way too old for what the crows are doing u wont get pick 19 for sparrow idk what you see in hannan at 26yo we wouldnt get from a kid or the other similar types on our lsit

  17. Narkle at HF? daicos wont leave collingwood especially coz his little bro is joining him in a years time hurley? do we ask the question in case petty doesnt come on -1yr deal polec? wouldnt touch markov or webster

  19. hore for smith i beg
  20. i think we should take the chance this year to completely rejig the setup of our list. Football is won by the 22 blokes playing each week your clubs "best 22" and each year you are required to draft 3 players. so if after 3 years on the list a player hasnt broken through as a best 22 player i think you move them on. a guns&rookies strategy where your best 22 is seriously good ie geelong and your rookies look to fight their way in and if they cant u recycle them for another draft pick and try again like gws. keeping a player at 22+yo who is fringe as backup doesn't progress your list Hannan, Hunt, JWagner, CWagner, OMcDonald, Smith are fringe players at best and offer nothing a new draftee with upside wouldn't offer. Times run out for Jones. Jetta and Kolodjashnij whilst contracted probably know what conversations are coming given list sizes, TMcDonald gets a trade with wage contribution Chandler and Dunkley haven't come on and would be 50:50 at best. 1 year deals for Bedford, Spargo, Hore, Hibberd, Bennell (up), Brown (A), Jordon, Neitschke (A), Bradtke (B) 2-3yrs Fritsch, Petty, Lockhart (up), Sparrow 4yrs Viney
  21. ive actually been paying alot of attention to other coaches this week and simpson (WC), cameron (GWS), shaw (NM) were all blunt bullish when need be and informative and honest and open when need be too. goody is possibly the only coach in the comp with no media presence and emotion. we know what clarko, longmire, dimma do as well and goody is just regurgitated crap and non comments with no weight to them and leave fans knowing less than they did before he sat down
  22. could be a number 1 ruck there he looked good in that role, obvioulsy something very difference for him you just know if we ever come up against either of them thats when they play their only good game and just do nothing wrong all day
  23. good balance of talented players and non talented ones, dont wanna lose that
  24. still here, only 7 touches agaisnt any normal side thats trying he wouldnt get a sniff of the sherrin.
