2020 Contracts and List Details
i think we should take the chance this year to completely rejig the setup of our list. Football is won by the 22 blokes playing each week your clubs "best 22" and each year you are required to draft 3 players. so if after 3 years on the list a player hasnt broken through as a best 22 player i think you move them on. a guns&rookies strategy where your best 22 is seriously good ie geelong and your rookies look to fight their way in and if they cant u recycle them for another draft pick and try again like gws. keeping a player at 22+yo who is fringe as backup doesn't progress your list Hannan, Hunt, JWagner, CWagner, OMcDonald, Smith are fringe players at best and offer nothing a new draftee with upside wouldn't offer. Times run out for Jones. Jetta and Kolodjashnij whilst contracted probably know what conversations are coming given list sizes, TMcDonald gets a trade with wage contribution Chandler and Dunkley haven't come on and would be 50:50 at best. 1 year deals for Bedford, Spargo, Hore, Hibberd, Bennell (up), Brown (A), Jordon, Neitschke (A), Bradtke (B) 2-3yrs Fritsch, Petty, Lockhart (up), Sparrow 4yrs Viney

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Essendon
ive actually been paying alot of attention to other coaches this week and simpson (WC), cameron (GWS), shaw (NM) were all blunt bullish when need be and informative and honest and open when need be too. goody is possibly the only coach in the comp with no media presence and emotion. we know what clarko, longmire, dimma do as well and goody is just regurgitated crap and non comments with no weight to them and leave fans knowing less than they did before he sat down

The 2020 Trade Period
could be a number 1 ruck there he looked good in that role, obvioulsy something very difference for him you just know if we ever come up against either of them thats when they play their only good game and just do nothing wrong all day

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Essendon
so SAY we qualify and play away to Weagles Smith stays in due to their height unless we role the ball on Hore? vandenberg makes way for Harmes who trains the house down? ANB makes way for the Jones fairytail? Melky did not do enough to keep out Jackson to match their aerial power? theyre the calls we have to make

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Essendon
hibbo had 3 kicked on him by walters and everyone was saying hes not small enough for the slippery little blokes then nev had 3 kicked on him by daniel last week who basically hadnt kicked a goal all season until then and now tippa is gonna run riot pretty much unopposed. u should be more worried

North Axes 11
the only player i'd consider is lachie hosie at 22 in that HF goalkicking lead up role that none of hannan, hunt, nibbler, melky have played well this year but realistically theres a reason hes been given the chop so we steer clear of them all, and hopefully follow suit with our own cull

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Essendon
Smith: 191 May:193 Lever:195 Hibbo:186 Rivers:188 Tomlinson: 194 Avg: 191.2 Essendon have 3 forwards under 185cm all they have to do is let the ball bounce in their forward 50 and we're royally f'ed in the a**

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Essendon
and this is why he wont

Trade Targets
realistically i want 4 from this DEF: Witherden, Saad, Cumming MID: Narkle, Polec, ISmith KF: Wright, Ratugolea
-
Two Metre Peter
he's exactly what we need. jackson and weid both arent that number one hawkins, dixon, kennedy type we need a bail out option down the line who can really clunk one and take the big defender to let weid and jacko loose to roam and lead

Time to have a talk about Jayden
i think a few people have got it spot on in here so far, yes hes rapid and breaks lines however he often runs himself into trouble or dump handballs to someone else whos in more trouble than him the "lumumba-toumpas handpass" as i know it as they were serial offenders and if he does get the kick it is just a hack with no accuracy and no direction which led to turnovers and quick transitions out of our forward line by oppo HBs. he's had plenty of chances and clearly hasnt quite found a place. I've heard @LekdogSC and @JG2325 do carlton and essendon respectively list analysis on twitter recently and both believe he can fit in there as a dashing defender and would be available. he's a player i'd allow to leave cheaply with blessing and would like to see flourish elsewhere with no hard feelings. the other club i can see him fitting in at would be the doggies as a mitch wallis foil as a lead up. they've had lots of instability in that second small position and he could fit their style in that way. however he's had his chances here and ultimately dissapointed a lot of us fans and obviously the coaches too hence the 5 game season

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Essendon
fritsch's defensive game on haynes last week was awesome and very underrated especially on here. hes going straight to ridley first bounce. Hooker & hurley i think will be back in heppells had surgery. Lockhart for jetta i think is a lock it is true we shouldnt mess with a winning formula however matchups are important and therefore smith falls out for hibbo if fit vanders misses out for harmes in a midfield role without brayshaw and jones in the side thats definitely a huge upgrade there hopefully they leave it at that brown has really performed and weid has had it tough with the big blokes he's had clamping and sitting on him for the last few weeks but it would be irresponsible to push LJ in if he's underdone in such an important game and with such a young prospect. anb lucky that we won so he gets another game bennell has clearly been put on ice for the year and hannan isnt an upgrade so he plays
-
CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Essendon
vandenBerg --> harmes - obvious like for like ugrade jetta --> lockhart - injured smith --> hibberd - matchups firstly + possessions (his general defensive form has been decent) anb --> bennell - didnt do enough, never does and its do or die
-
POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs GWS
he plays a much deeper role these days lockdown type on the mitch wallis' of the world viney needs to learn to not go back into traffic and dispose of the ball sooner instead of trying to do it all himself. the only difference between him and the brad crouches of the world are the ability to give the ball off at the right time. we can blame this on the ability of his teammates as a youngster... had no choice but to do it all himself. i really dont want him to leave but if he doesnt tidy this up (which he absolutely can do) he could be expendable as a player definitely not as the most melbourne through and through person we have on our list. CHANGES: vdb --> harmes jetta (inj) --> lockhart smith (matchups) --> hibbo anb --> bedford/hannan (probably safe coz we won tho)
