AFL exec to umpires before the game: get Collingwood into finals at all cost, give them as many free kicks as it takes. honestly though this is hard to watch and say that this is a fair game.

Collingwood fans cheering that criminal makes me as angry as I’ve ever been. the world would be a better place without this supporter base.

Commentators not even commentating when Melbourne kicks a goal, this bias is genuinely sickening.

Our disposal is comedically bad.

Just had another very sad realisation while reading through the postgame thread, that as supporters we're back to trying to pull out positives out of what was really a drubbing to make ourselves feel better. Sad that we're back in this position after only being up the top for a short period of time.

The midfield really is the biggest concern. When you give up that much territory off centre bounce it makes sense that the oppo has however many more scoring shots. So the midfield, what is the issue? I don't think its purely a personnel problem, sure the addition of tracc to the midfield would help but before he got injured he was looking like playing a lot more time forward anyway so not sure we can attribute our problems to a lack of tracc. Therefore, imo I think its clearly a system/coaching issue. I don't think its a coincidence that we lose yze and we have our worst midfield year for a very long time. I questioned earlier in the year whether McQualter has had a damaging impact on our mids and i'm posing the question again because i can't see another obvious reason for how our midfield is performing at the moment. Maybe its a lack of effort by the players but I really don't think thats true, they may not have played well tonight but i still thought they tried hard. Interested in what others think has gone wrong with the midfield?? (Also acknowledge that tonight around half of their points were off the back of turnover but I still think it holds true that our midfield has been woeful this year and if we want any chance of being a competitive side again, that is what we need to fix asap.)

So proud of the group for tonight. Had to beat the umpires, the commentators on Essendon the whole night, the media writing us off the whole week, no max no tracc. (Aside from the last 7 minutes that definitely got the heart rate going) in tough conditions, the will to keep cracking in at the contest made me just so unbelievably proud.

Judd mcvee is a 200 gamer right? Right?? He is an absolute star and seeing that [censored] stringer getting absolutely towelled up was just so amazing to see.

Umpire 22 is such a cheat.

Such a clear duck of the head

Umpiring is disgraceful but hey what’s new I guess. It is concerning that Melbourne players can continued to get tackled for a lengthy period of time without even being close to the ball. Holding the man non-existent. the commentary is an Essendon love fest which is making my ears bleed. rivers is an absolute gun, the man is playing out of his skin and it’s awesome to see. the boys are having a red hot crack and I’m loving the intensity, just pray they keep it going into the second half.

Thats the most gutted and upset I've been after any loss this year and its the proudest i've been of the boys effort in a fair while. The intensity and the dare and the will to crack in at the contest i thought was excellent. So frustrating that the game was for the most part officiated out of hands and very frustrating to go goaless in the last quarter but overall the game actually gives me hope going forward.

Gotta beat the umpires and Brisbane, come on lads
