  1. yes, he came across....
  2. We were but the scuttlebutt is No Way.
  3. MRC dont own the land. It is Crown land. And use of the ovals will not be rent free.
  4. The CRCT will not be donating anything to anybody. The Trust will lease some disused land (currently the SE corner) to the MFC for our Admin and indoor facilities. This should provide the Trust an annual income of $250,000 (guesstimate) which I think the State Govt would consider a good thing. The Trust will also redevelop the inside of the race course for sports ovals/squares etc for community use with the MFC having right of use for a set number of hours a week.
  5. AMW is still running with non contact group but is looking really good. No obvious sign that his injury is a hinderance.
  6. In a sense yeah, dancing with your daughter, but some of the tackles I have seen have been bone crunching. With some big heads leaving there are more spots up for grabs so why not take out a competitor for your spot.
  7. Dont you love it when they change the Title or possibly move the thread and your jump to unread pages goes to page 1, post 1.
  8. Love it. I have been doing injury prevention for the last 30 years.
  9. So thats who that is. Lots of random unknowns (to me) hanging out at training.
  10. Another glorious day at Goschs. Is TMc ever late for anthing. Guerra and Richo watching on. Guerra always looks like he is enjoying his job. Tom matthews had a bandage on his leg last friday but it hasnt been seen since. Always under the eye of a trainer and spends much time jogging, not sprinting, the line. The rehabbers, Langford, langdon, gawn, melksham, disco look ready to go. Langford had the 'paint' across the bridge of the nose, a la Adam Ant. The non runners were Viney, Miohcek, henderson and Lindsay. Brodie suffering from that military complaint of General Soreness. Would you believe that Viney and Lindsay carried over a 'ski' machine from AAMI. Unbelievable. Windsor is an absolutely standout. XT has some really smarts and reads the ball well. At times though he reminds me of the kid down the back of the class who couldnt sit still. Had 2 senior umps for the match sim. Onley is nearly as big as Jamar. It doesnt help when players are in the wrong jumpers. Campbell beating Heath in the grappling contestants. Lever and Salem are masters of holding their oppoent in the tackle a second or 2 longer. Maysie looked uncomfortable, some part of his body aint right. (like duh). Jogging, running the line. I assume the players loaded up with the fluids as there was much 'watering of the eucalypt trees'. CJ, can i say poetry in motion, beautiful running.
  11. Reginald is his middle name apparently. It was his nickname before joining the MFC.
  12. I would be surprised if the MFC got any government money. Rather the govt money will go to the CRCT/ Glen Eira to provide the sporting facilities etc within the interior of the racecourse. Even the tunnel could be funded this way as it is supposed to be public access. MFC will have to raise funds to build a new Admin block and indoor training facilities outside of the track, currntly proposed for the SE corner.
  13. When i arrived at 9.30 the regular rehabers plus May and TMc were out doing their special drills. No sign of Viney, Henderson, Lindsay and Tom Mathews though they did turn up late. Langford and Langdon wearing concussion caps and must be very close to joining in regular drills. Max and J Rivers wearing bucket hats. I got to thinking Have i watched too much footy? as I could identify Scarlett by the way he walked. Chin was in good voice. And yes they do call XT Reg. (Only the third Xavier to play for the MFC). Running the line was not as intensive as previous sessions but Shane and Reece gave it a go. May came off to change from boots to runners. Some of the younger players seemed very competitive in the drills as they know spots are up for grabs. And yes, most of the drills seem to be fast movement of the ball by hand or foot. TMcs family and others were in attendance which is always nice to see.
  14. I reckon there might be a requirement to keep the trees....
  15. Arrived at 9.30 to find nearly all the players out having a kick to kick with a partner. Melkys partner was his young son. The rehabers havent changed since last time. And i know this is impossible but Langford looks even taller. And Max G must be sick of the sight of the back of Disco head as thy run the boundary. Shane McA was running with Reece Conca but perhaps not at the same intensity as Wednesday. Tom Matthews had a bandage on his left leg and was jogging the line. Also did some time on the bike. And the baggy training shorts seems like a tent at times. TC did some time running the line. I dont think that is his favourite drill... Hendo and Vines on the bikes. The match sims were good fun. Trelly move very well but tried to take on Fritta and Culley. Trelly off to catch his breath.. Culley and Windsor looking good. And if you are a young add on from Casey and Windsor is chasing you dont run in a straight line. Salems tackles always keeps his opponents on the ground for an extra couple of seconds. Onleys disposal may be an issue. Kalani did some competitive work with Jamar, with Conca kicking the ball in . Bump now, ...and again ...and again. And just between you and me, I think we are going to handball more next season. (Just kick the thing I can hear us yelling now). At any one time there are about 30+ 'track watchers' looking on.
  16. I think he = Hendo?. Anyway henderson spent all his time on the bike and looked as skinny as. And apparently his current injury was caused by over doing it in the gym. Some can't win.
  17. Was quite relaxed coaching the ammos, which the players liked, as many of them had full time jobs.
  18. When I arrived Langdon was on the ground by himself, drifting up and down the ground, kicking the ball to himself, and having shots on goal, whilst the staff set up. TMc next to arrive, then Max G, wearing a bucket hat. Last out were Viney and Hendo who spent most of their time on the bikes. Viney was man on the mark for Trelly and was yelling 'Its your first game, and your having a shot.... Ghosty was in fine form Berry looks a footballer but his lack of AFL fitness does show. If the game is in the balance and Max H is kicking for goal look the other way. Disco and Max G running the boundary, with disco looking over his shoulder as if to say Where are you? The gap widened. Btw those running the (boundary) line have right of way so players coming off for a drink have to make way. First time I have seen Trelly and he moves very well in traffic. Was impressed. XT obviously has 'it' and is very energetic. May is a good kick for goal. Lever was yelling encouragement to Tom Matthews as he rehabed. Tom spent most of his time running, under the watchful eye of a trainer. Knee still an issue. Onley led from the front in his groups running. Langford looks colosal. Ran the line then kick to kick with trainer/Jones from 10, 20 then 30m etc. Did a drill where he ran in a straight line, turned left then about turn to the right. Repeat. As I left 4 galahs were watching on from the top of the netting behind the goals.
  19. Reece ran with Shane all through training; never looked tired, until they stopped...
  20. I use our goals from the GF as a sleeping aid. And if I get it wrong I have to do it again. 😁
  21. Glen Eira has the least green space as it has no coast or waterways within its boundaries. Govt funding will be given to the CRCT or Glen Eira to redevelop and maintain the community facilities in the middle. The MFC will have to raise money for the Admin and Training building. The last hold up I heard was the tunnel as it requires the MRC to cease racing for a period
  22. Dan Taylor elected to the board unopposed.
