That’s so good of you WCW, thanks Now just hurry the f up.

Finally someone has given a plausible explanation for Grundy not being selected. Not selecting him for any other reason doesn’t/ didn’t make sense. It’s probably what WCW has been hinting at all along.

Hey Ethan, do you know what’s happened to the originator of this thread - Mr Steve McQueen?
-
Great news. Now who are you trading out to catch such big fish? Oliver and May? (I’d do that if we could get those two).

I am so bored by the negativity on this site and general lack of respect shown to fellow DL’s that I find I am no longer enjoying reading the posts on here. Used to luv it, but now find it hard to get enthused to read them. I now resort to looking for favoured posters, but even these are often in battle with others. There are posters on here that I swear only come out of the woodwork when things ain’t so hot, just to sink their boots in. Never hear from them when things are good. I just don’t understand that. [censored] me, it’s just a game.

Chandler Bing Turner Over -
Realistic hope? If we are able to get our act together we can still make the finals. And if we do, we will do some damage in September. Realistic? I hope so.

Dees Runner Reece Conca Sent Please Explain

You know he’s not. -
Old Dee I hope you change your mind. We have too many optimists on this site at present and we need every pessimist we can get. If not, then I look forward to hearing from you in ‘25.

Time for a Change….Don’t wait another 2 years…
Neil Crompton replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have thoughts but I would only be speculating. It might be the game plan, it might be a coach or a particular player. But I do know that you don’t go from being a top side to a poor one, when you basically have the same personnel, without some other influence disrupting the system. The change in attitude by the players is simply a reflection of this. -

While I agree with that Moonie, I also think it likely that there is a “rotten apple” within the club that is “infecting” everyone. The attitude change in the players (for the worse) is the key for me. Whoever or whatever that “apple” is has to be weeded out. -
A 5 point win today guys after a great contested pack mark by Petty (over the top of Maynard) and a 45m goal kicked after the siren. Happy days!

Welcome to Demonland: Luker Kentfield
Neil Crompton replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Haha, who helped you post that Timothy? -
Maybe we could resort to standing and clapping at the 10 minute mark of each quarter. Don’t need Pies or AFL’s approval for that.

I think you’ve made your point about a dozen times now. We get it. Time to let it rest because you are annoying the F out of everyone. If that’s your aim then you’ve achieved that too. Well done. -
They may not be match fit but each of these gents has, at some stage, proven themselves at AFL level.

Thanks Ernie, but if he is not showing AFL standard traits, as a number of the regular Casey watches have stated, would you still pick him this week? And who would he replace? If someone from Casey is deemed “ready” by all means bring him in. But I feel a big part of our problem is that there is so little pressure for spots on our AFL team from the Casey players. Anyway, I’m sure the FD know better than me what is best for AMW.

SOLUTIONS NEEDED. 2 JUNE 2024. Memo to Goody
Neil Crompton replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Has Clarry now been handed a different centre bounce role than in previous years? He was always first to pounce on the tap out and, if he couldn’t extract the ball, he was usually at the bottom of the pack. That now seems to be Viney’s role, unfortunately. If so, it ain’t doing him, or us, any good. I say give him last years brief, and let him go, as only Clarry can. It may just help him to get his mojo back. -
Why? If you haven’t seen Casey games, nor training, on what basis, pray tell, are you saying “let’s play him”? Except for one very passionate AMW supporter, most of the Casey watches have stated he is not ready for AFL football. I haven’t seen him so I cannot comment, but I’d like to know your reasoning please.

But is she good in a contest, Ms Jaded?

SOLUTIONS NEEDED. 2 JUNE 2024. Memo to Goody
Neil Crompton replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Unlike some on here, I’m not smart enough to know how to fix our problem - I don’t even know what the real problem is. But I do know one thing: we are sadly missing Gus, not just on the field, but off it as well. He was definitely the heart and soul of the Club. No one appears to have stepped up to replace his leadership and immense encouragement he would heap on his teammates on the field. When your heart and soul is gone, without a replacement, you are left with an empty vessel. And that’s the way we are playing. I also believe - and perhaps the players do too - that the Club let Gus down by not appealing that shameful tribunal outcome. I’m sure Gus felt let down by that. And even more so well after the verdict when he received the medical advice to retire. im sure there are a myriad of reasons as to why we are playing so poorly, but I’m also pretty sure sure that the Gus factor is one of them.- 303 replies
