I got a call to say my mother was taken to hospital and most likely would not be allowed to fly as planned from Sunshine Coast to Sydney. So change of plans we would fly to her. Needing a Covid test to get into Qld we went to get a Covid test yesterday. Was in a queue from 6pm till 10pm closing time and didn’t make the end of the queue. Lined up again from 7am this morning and eventually got my test done at 9.30am. Got home to receive a message that the hospital was going to release her and allow her to fly after all. So 6.5 hours of queuing time I’ll never get back.

That's correct. It makes them really unhoppy.

Greatly appreciated Picket. In fact so good that Andy said to send him your petrol receipt for reimbursement. -
Haha well if it is Rankine or his manager posting, then they got their answer pretty quickly from us!

Reece Conca Appointed Player Development Manager
Neil Crompton replied to Timothy Reddan-A'Blew's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just an aside about Shannon Byrnes. This is a quote from him on his LinkedIn page: "While the Club did have an extension for me on offer, the timing for me and my little family to move back to the regional area and coast was right. I have absolutely loved my time in the Red & Blue, but also am very excited for the opportunity to be going back to where it all started for me and reconnect with old friends, as well as introduce myself to the new faces at Geelong FC".- 33 replies

BBO, I can see you in a polo with the logo “All Manor of Hell”.

I find it hard to believe that players peak around age 26. What takes them so long? I was able to peak at about 11 years of age - but unfortunately, very quickly lost it from there.

I see a report that Lever fainted at training. Hope he is ok. New conditioning man making his mark. -
Will the event be streamed for us unfortunate interstaters?

How obscene (and utterly ugly) is this proposal. There is no respect for the urban design of the city nor the historic MCG precinct that it links to. Its a really big no from me.

The one thing remaining to improve
Neil Crompton replied to FlashInThePan's topic in Melbourne Demons
There might be kicking improvements and strategy tweaks, but I see the greatest improvement overall resulting from the sheer competition for and desire to obtain senior spots next year. There is no way players like Hunt, Tomlinson, Weideman, Jordon and Smith will not do all and more to get back in that side. And no premiership player will want to lose his spot for Dunstan. Should be a fun pre-season! -
Haha This topic seems to have gone on longer than "Neighbours". I've even forgotten what happens when (if) you get to the end of the selection stage.

Haha It never hurts to broaden your horizons Jaded No More. After landing this years cup, and while awaiting the landing of next years cup, a little dabble on the aptly named Melbourne Cup doesn't hurt. And backing the winner and the trifecta today only reinforced that view.

I know, Allus, it’s terrifying. My grandson has now gone 3 weeks without ever seeing a premiership.i worry about his mental development and really hope he doesn’t grow up as traumatised as most of us on here. -

So sorry to hear of your plight Deeoldfart. As far as I am concerned you are not derailing this thread - we are both making community announcements. -

Thanks ET. Both are doing good. Membership will be a Christmas present, definitely. -
Winning the premiership last Saturday was a magnificent feeling - which will last me a lifetime.. However, just when I thought things couldn't get any better, our daughter today has had a baby boy, giving us our first grandchild. The only downside is that due to Covid restrictions, we cannot yet meet this future Demon mid. (but may be able to come Monday, as some of our restrictions are about to be lifted). Life really is good

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Neil Crompton replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just wanted to make mention of a team - first act that I have only just noticed on a replay. As we know, Kossie hardly touched the ball all game, but he did have a few great defensive moments. The one I want to highlight involves the Petracca dribbling goal, where Kossie does a powerful front on shepherd/bump on Dunkley to prevent him from possibly tackling Petracca. Dunkley ends up on his back and Petracca gets the 6 points. Just luv this kid. -

There certainly is a lot of luv being spread on here tonight. I just went to bed to try and spread a bit more love, but apparently I smell like a brewery, and I have ignored her to the last 26 weeks. So here i am back amongst those who know how to appreciate and celebrate a win for the ages. . -

During the first and second quarters, I really wanted someone to clean up Libba - and shut that gob of his. But I don't think anyone of our team could have hurt him more than the our performance in the last 2 quarters. Hope that really hurt Libba. -
