  1. Very much agreed. Green for captain.
  2. Oh Chris. You will be booed so much in future. Hope that money is worth it..... Guees he has to pay Twigley some how.
  3. 100% AGREE WITH YOU HARDS. Completely agree, finally some sense about Cousins. If this is true, I would be SHATTERED if we didn't try and get him. He is a superstar. I rate him over his career to be much better than Judd and im 100% on the thought if he could have played out Port game, the Eagles would have won. He is the player who on field I respect the most in the league, no one works harder, would love him in the red and blue.
  4. O well. Just so we are on the same page..... When we play Carlton, I want Boo's. When he gets the ball I want to hear a boo bigger than what Ben Johnson got for his hit on Bell (MUCH BIGGER) I want signs that read Sell Out, I want Signs that read Judd=Money Hungry. As great as it was when the big Finals over thing happened to Collingwood. I want more on Judd. I will not forget this slap in the face.
  5. Said he wants facilities....... Theres is as bad as ours..... Said he wants to win games....... When was the last time Carlton won anything..... Said he wants to be part of a winning culture...... Or was it a culture of fans who boo opposition goals...... ENJOY ENOUGH TANKING TO WIN A PREMIERSHIP RIGHT IN TIME FOR YOUR RETIREMENT.
  6. Your joking? Give some details.....
  7. Unfortunately deleted it as soon as I got it. However I will share the finer points in my memory. He first explained his reasoning to copy Bailey, Cameron and Connolly which was just so they can be in on what im saying. He then went into how it is not smart to bag out anybody with trade week coming. Sounded like he didn't want to [censored] off any other clubs, or Paul Connors, manager of some of the Demons boys. Then he seemed to get a bit defensive saying that how people feel about us is not how we conduct ourselves now, it was a precise and sensible answer that I respected quite strongly. We are hopeful supporters will not clutch to failures of the past and get behind the team 100%. Because yes, the Melbourne Football Club is one that needs everyone giving 100%. As much the staff, players and coaches can, we also need our fans being 100% behind the club and getting to the games. I tried to remember, there was more but thats all that really stood out, he seemed to get a bit defensive with me but it was more so he could show his point of view. His tone suggested the club had received a few complaints about it. Overall it was a good response that gave me confidence about the Melbourne football club going forward.
  8. Please don't make this about Cousins. One of Mainwarrings best mates spoke on radio today and said this was definately not the case. Mainwarring was Ben Cousins' biggest shoulder to lean on during his tough time and wouldn't have kicked the drugs without him. He said alot of good friends (including Cousins) new he was going through a tough patch so Cousins decided to take him out for a quite drink at a local bar. They were said to have sat and talked about all the issues for a while. Cousins, not drinking. Then when Cousins took him home something else happened..... Please don't jump on Cousins.... anyone who thinks he is stupid enough to jump on drugs the first chance he gets will never understand what type of addiction he went through..... not assuming there are some people on here who have been through or know someone who was been through drug addiction.
  9. AND THIS RIGHT HERE!! Is the reason we can never ever afford to "re-build".
  10. I e-mailed Steve Harris to voice the opinions of a few people I know. He seemed somewhat offended. However he did copy Dean Bailey, Craig Cameron and Chris Connolly on the e-mail thread. I expressed my opinions, he expressed his, in the end he made the valid point that trade week is still on and we need to make sure we don't tread on anyones shoes in this delicate time, further hindering other negotiations. Made sense. However...... I DO THINK IT WAS A [censored] WEAK REPLY. Give a [censored] about treading on shoes........ ITS ABOUT TIME WE STOOD UP FOR OURSELVES.
  11. The only player I would give up pick 4 for is Fevola. But I would also want their late teens pick.
  12. I completely agree with Yze_Magic I do think we can go all the way. I want to win next year, win, win, win. Meeson will go a long way to helping our side in the future. Im hoping he is perminant back up ruck all next season. Try and get another top 10 pick this year. With 4 take Lachie Henderson (before dogs do at 5) and with the other pick take Rance. We then have a key forward and key back. Spine suddenly looks stronger.
  13. Sylvia, Sylvia, Sylvia..... Will be our best player. Get him fit, finally put him in midfield, he will bust through packs untouched. Kick long. Run forward and kick goal, he is going to be something very very special.
  14. That was the deal, even tho no one else could probably stomach it, I would be happy with Jolly and Meesan as our ruck combination for the future. Shattered if we loose travis, he's my fav player, but the juice is worth the squeeze.
  15. Im going to end up getting fired because I can't be bothered working..... NOTHING gets done, to engulfed with Judd talk.
  16. 1116
  17. Its because he isn't cool
  18. They were two different examples. The Essendon game where he got caught in their 50 (COMMA) Got caught by Dale Thomas like 4 times (this was in Neitas 300th) Comma, full stop usually means something new or adding something.... In this case, adding.
  19. Well this is all nice to hear..... Definately will be listening for the good oil sports update around 10 past 2.
  20. I would be very upset if Mclean ever captains the Demons. Really don't rate him, the worst awareness ive seen on a talented player in a long time. Always always always gets caught, lets remember, Danihers last game in Essendon 50, caught for holding the ball like 4 times by Dale Thomas. Also he has got in TWO punch ups in the past few weeks. He is no captain and is no star of the club, I really rated him in his first years but this year, no matter how "unfit" was deplorable. Jones, Rivers are the only untouchables. I would keep Sylvia over Mclean anyday. All being said, happy for him to stay because I know the talent is there, but captain, my god I would be [censored].
  21. Why get excited, if fox sports news said collingwood are red hot favs we would all be saying, journos just guess work so I guess it should still count here.
  22. Don't [censored] with me Yze, don't be messing with my emotions, this better not be 100% false...
  23. Doesn't matter how lateral any club thinks. He is going to the filthy, disgusting, god darn rotten pies. And I will HATE him for it, however, it is so going to happen.
  24. I see where you are coming from but footy has changed. Me being the age I am I know of a few AFL prospects, new VFL players and current AFL players who have been family friends, friends of my brother, class mates, team mates. And the reality is, most of these guys do not have football as a dream. More so something that they have realised they are good at and could make a career out of it. Footy has become a career, and to a lesser extent a life full of women, partys and being what is Australias biggest celebrities. It may not be a pretty way going forward but it is how it is. Sadly you will find 1 in 100 young fans who are as passionate about there club as I am and im sure all Demonland posters are. Young players do not hold that love for their team any longer, as they concentrate on their own careers they forget about the club they barracked for and move to live for the club they play for and that is it. Also upsetting is the inevitable prospect of Free Agency where a player can go to any club when there contract expires as a free agent, not a trade. Which means whoever can throw the money at the player, he will 8 times out of 10 go there. Over time the AFL will become more and more similar to the NFL and NBA. As much as I want Chris Judd, the fact that he is interviewing other clubs is the very first step in this overall direction. A direction that will see more players moving from team to team in search for the big bucks. Therefore making passion from fans slowly deteriate to a point where you don't care about the players emotionally, just a guy on your team.
