To the ‘we will/must win this by 6-7 goals, minimum’ crew - is that still the projected margin? We’re being embarrassed here. Should be down by more. Every single team thinks they can beat us, and there’s a reason for that. Here it is. We have our moments, no doubt, and our best can beat anybody, but we don’t do it often enough anymore, and there are far too many threatening teams on the up. Really sad actually.
-
Because we’re such an inconsistent team, we’re always open to the idea that we can be beaten with pressure. And this is how we keep getting these bottom teams being plucky against us. Same as Richmond, who have been creamed since. Talking about being creamed, absolutely single handedly creamed by Harley just then. Pretty embarrassing, will want to assert dominance pretty soon. Other teams are watching this.

Hmmmm Early days yet, but seriously, a lot of people here talking about a 6-7 goal minimum win. Nah. This is a danger game, I’ll be happy with an honourable win, where we respect our opponents and play 4 quarters. Also , Trac was held there.

Tigers are getting smoked. Not even Q1 finished yet. Feel bad for Ooze 😔
-
Carlton getting a solid reality check here We should have iced those dorks last wk 😔 Looking back, aside from the tigers’ win against the swans, we have been the closest to them - with a 22 point loss - and we played like TRASH - and were in it at 3Q (2 points down) before they ran away with it in the conditions. Gives some comfort I guess. Anyway, good to see the blues getting smoked. Just wish we did it!

Agree. It's a good game for him to find some form and confidence! If he doesn't stand up against the Eagles, there will be added pressure to question whether his spot is safe. I like him. Has good hands and is a good kick. But clearly not match fit, underdone and is obviously frustrated himself. Looking for a strong game from him.
-
That's really unfortunate if it happens (likely) - he was good last week, and really needs/deserves a consistent crack for his development and confidence.
-
Yeah I reckon. Not ideal, but they should be able to hold their own sufficiently at either end. Maybe wrap Petty's foot in something, though!
-
There you go, INS - McAdam, Salem and BBB Pretty happy with that.
-
We're running out of vowels (which included the sneaky hybrid 'y') and I'm not going into Demon Meths - but maybe it could mean the method by which we do our good things. The way we strangle our opponents. #Demon Meth(od)s

I prefer not to remember. Hint: not good.

I know he came on fresh, but I really liked Woey's attack on the ball last week. Really hope (for his continuing progress as well) that he's not left out this week.

Hey, that is something indeed! ❤️

Completely agree. There are no easy games. Taking oppo for granted is a recipe for disaster. We play them at their home, in front of their crowd - I am not expecting anything other than us treating them with respect and trusting that 4 quarters of our brand of footy will prevail. If we win, based on our system, I will be happy. If we win by 50, great. But I won't expect it. We snoozed against the Blues last week, and it cost us a win. That's the stuff I am more interested in.

It's not great that we're down two forwards - but tbh it's the best time to have these issues. We're looking pretty good, it's vs the Eagles (who should not be underestimated of course, especially as it's there) - but I would far rather these issues now than against teams in the 8 right now. We have recruited Fullo for a reason, so it really isn't a bad time to use him! Yeah he may not set the world on fire, but he kind of doesn't need to. Just chop out ruck relief, hopefully snag a few marks and if he scores, even better. He would be replacing JVR who, while being handy with the ruck relief and is developing well for a 21 yo, has not been in red hot form, so we just need someone who competes well. I think Fullo should be able to do this.

Poor guy can't catch a break. Has been solid since joining. Looking forward to him having a good run after Freo. Seems like a good kid, and knows where the footy is. Can kick. Much to work with. Just needs some luck!
-
Yeah it's just so strange. Can't be fatigue relative to the Blues, because we ran over them in the end, and they played 3 games in 13 days (like we did against the Lions - but they held up, whereas we didn't). We need to upgrade whatever psychologists we have on the payroll. We are a better team every day of the week. All between the ears.

I did refer to the miss as Petty and the Heartbreakers, which I thought was a decent call. At the end of it, aside from a dud umpiring call here and there (which I thought were wrong calls, but won't blame for the loss), we lost in in Q1 for numerous reasons - aside from the fact that we gave up a 5-0 start (and then 6-0 at the start of Q2) (which you just can't do against sides, let alone dangerous sides like the Blues), which was partly because of their midfield dominance, but also because our i50 entries were so poor and we could not land a mark in there (they did, several times) - AND they were as you say, unusually accurate - an anomaly - any other day, they kick 4.1 or 3.2, and if so, we win. A very strange game. Won the i50 entries again, more scores, and x score - another moral victory, but no points. Just gutted we gave them another close one. I truly dislike their fans and am bummed we don't play them again this year. We can only hope we both make finals, and if we face them - we actually beat them. They are claiming us as their bunnies now. And while we know this is not true. The proof is in the results. They knocked us out of the finals, and now claimed another close one. We have to beat them on the scoreboard and not fluff it. Again. Long wait until then. But overall I think we're in good health. Really positive signs. But they will need to examine what happened in Q1.

Agree. Proud of the boys for not giving up. I hope we see these [censored] again and finally collect the debt.
-
That’s how I felt. I thought we started well. They took their chances, had some lucky bounces, and we didn’t. Mind you we didn’t mark anything in our 50 and they did and that was a big difference. But not a 5-0 difference. Agree. I’d rather write this off as an unlucky night with some costly misses and a particularly bad dangerous tackle call.
-
The better team, again, scored more shots but fluffed it (easy misses, a complete.no-show in q1) and was done by the umps (that dangerous tackle was simply fraudulent), but yet we walk away with nothing. Again. Proud of the boys for not giving up, but I really hate seeing the blues after these games.
-
Left it too late. More scoring shots. And ultimately lost by a cheat dangerous tackle call. Really gutted this could have been ours.
-
Oh my god. please can we steal this I won’t ask for anything for Christmas in July
-
I’ll say one thing for us that we already lnew obviously. We’re never out of games. No matter what happens tonight there’s that. But we’re still here 2 goals to go
-
MY MAN JACK VINEY ❤️ Still mad about that dangerous tackle. We would have one less goal to get. Ah well guess we will need to kick 3 goals
