  1. I think everyone knows this one was a bit of a punt. High risk, high reward sort of a thing. Given our dual straight sets exits, I can see we were trying to become more dynamic/dangerous i50. He certainly has the potential. Sometimes these things land and sometimes they don't. We'd be praising Lamb if it worked. Anyway, still a year left, you never know. I hope Shane has some luck with his body and tears it up in 2026.
  2. This is such a nice, wholesome, thread. A delightful departure from some of the other content lol I also didn't get to see Robbie play (live), but from what I have seen and heard, he was one-of-a-kind. The good ones always go far too young, and leave us with the monsters who live to a million years old.
  3. Tough, but correct decision. Pleasing to see it looks like we're starting to make some big decisions regarding our list. There may (ha!) and should be more to follow, I'd say. Will miss May, agree with posters above that our flag does not happen without him. Probably won't miss the fist fights, occasional on-field melt downs (I love his passion, but the Gawn dress-down etc, no) and the soundbites he gave other teams (shoulda smoked them, etc. - even though I, too, believe we should have smoked them) but I will miss his immense presence down back. This year wasn't his best, marred by injury, inconsistence, lack of speed (odd how quick this happened), but I hope he sees some more good footy, but not against us, of course. Big opportunity for Disco/Petty/Lever and others to step up and form a new brick wall.

  5. Geez the bombers really have gotten off quite lightly (compared to us) with the actual exodus of players (not just the rumoured, baseless drivel we had to face from the media for a few years, without any notable departures). Imagine if we had their level of departures? Caro et al would implode.
  6. Ah man just realised thatโ€™s ANBโ€™s third straight, straight sets exit from finals. Poor guy, thatโ€™s rough ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  7. The only horror I want to see now is that inflicted on our opponents.
  8. Yep! Not only did he play there towards the early part of their 20+ year ridiculous run, but he has also coached there. Would, and should, certainly know a thing or two about standards and culture.
  9. King has an impressive playing and coaching record. He may or may not have the 'clout' of Buckley, but that does not really matter. If he can bring all of that experience, footy knowledge, together with the standards clearly evident (yes, with some exceptions, as with any club) at the Cats, we are gonna be just fine. I think this is a solid appointment. We could very easily have just appointed Buckley as the 'obvious' remaining established coach on the list, but we didn't. Let's do this. Hoping the Cats go no further than the prelim (because yuck) but also so he can get to work!!!

  11. Perfect sentiments across the board. All the best SparGOAT. Integral part of our premiership success.
  12. Maybe he's a better funny man than a coach?
  13. I can't wait to see him out there. I reckon 2026 will be his year, and he deserves it.
  14. Ah well there go the doggies ๐Ÿคฃ
  15. haha if it gives you any comfort at all... I used 'lawyerly' as I don't hold a practising certificate. So, legal qualifications only, although I do work with legislation.
  16. As a lawyerly person (and there are many on here), the bit I am most interested in is: "...now i am going to log out of demonland". Now, words are pretty powerful (topical in this case, with what is said to another human being during a game of footy, as part of one's employment, at the workplace...). Anyway, yeah words are powerful, even if the English language is pretty clumsy. But in this case, and I will carve out the important bits that I think (should) reflect precise, unambiguous statements of intended action: "...now...log out" Not later. And not just close the browser. Log OUT. Admittedly he didn't say forever (one can dream), but still, I never log out of here lol Let's see if Farnsy takes the hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s for another spin!
  17. Looks like there is an opportunity for a 'straight, law abiding [hard-working] white anglo m[e]n' support group/crowdfund?
  18. I didn't think TMac would re-sign for 2026 (although I was hoping he would, because he has been good, often v good). Maybe there is something to the May talk, and that has motivated TMac to hang around another year. I doubt we would give up Lever AND May - but if May were to leave, and knowing that Lever has not been able to stay on the park (fit) for sustained periods of late, we would need experience in the backline. Petty, Disco, Jed (?? - wish we had seen him) etc are good, but will benefit from guys like Tmac.
  19. I think there was definitely a good opportunity to see Jed out there. May and Lever both looked cooked for good portions of the year. Once the year was gone, we could easily have gotten Jed in for a game or two. Would also like to have seen Luker (although at the different end of the ground).
  20. Yeah we lost and yeah it was in our usual predictable way fizzing out and missing shots and yeah it was against this team that we just canโ€™t beat and yeah we had our chancesโ€ฆ But there were brief glimpses of the team I want to see more of. 2025 can, and will, get right in the bin, but as a diehard Dee, Iโ€™m conditioned to look to next year. And I will. We have a lot of things to fix and some holes to plug. Big holes. But if we start making some good decisions, and work on our basics, we can be right in it again. I hate those mugs. Must work on knowing how to win and taking chances. Go dees, bring on 2026
  21. 1.5 Inaccuracy and wasted opportunities against the pies. Getting oldโ€ฆ
  22. Have we got what it takes to end the year with a message to the fans for 2026? And a parting gift for the filth??
  23. Letโ€™s bury these dorks. Wish it was to knock them out and the last laugh really is with them as theyโ€™ll play finals but itโ€™s a nice little gift to knock them out of the 4, and end the year with some hope.
