The Run Home
For me, itâs because of our form since defeating the Cats back in RD 8. Since then weâve had a total of four wins - three of which were against lowly teams - Saints, Roos (which we nearly lost) and Weagles. And if Essendon are indeed the pretenders so many label them as, then basically not one âscalpâ since the beginning of May. The tightness of the AFL ladder this year flatters many, including us. We may Bradbury our way into the eight this year, but if Iâm honest, I think Iâd rather see a bunch of early surgeries and an extra few weeks of pre-season than weâve been afforded in recent years.

binmanâs rant (Goody defence)
You pretty much named it already. Reductive reasoning.

NON-MFC: Round 19
Keays was immense. Youâd love to have him in your team. Did anyone notice him coming off the ground with a minute to go and just start walking down into the rooms? He wasnât injured. It was more like âOk you guys just finish it off, Iâm gonna try and beat the crowds.â Stone cold.

Crows getting stiffed by the umps. Thilthorpe moves like a mule in a vat of molasses.

NON-MFC: Round 19
Thank you AFL for creating a âdiscussionâ around every single hard tackle in a game. âWow Richo do you think heâll get pinged for that?â âNah geez, I mean, dunno Brianâ. X 20, each round.

Loved our game last weekend but this Essendon team is not a âscalpâ.

My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
Sparrow - Twenty Pressure Acts The highest were ANB and Chandler with 22 (not exactly âlimited involvementâ), but Sparrow is consistently high in this stat. I think Goodwin has him playing a pretty unglamorous role this year, and Iâm sure the coaches arenât as down on him as a few posters have been lately. Oh and also worth mentioning, the other player in the top four for pressure acts was Harrison Petty, also with 20.

NON-MFC: Round 18
Itâs heartening to see Geelong finally have some success after their tragic downfall and gruelling three-week rebuild. But maybe that does tell you something. Do I dare keep hope alive?
