Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I thought his body language after the match was generally consistent with his usual emotional-self, and didnât see anything âperformativeâ about it at all. Do we really have to analyse and try to âread inâ to why a guy whoâs worked like a mofo to get through a potentially career/life-ending incident, might be [censored] off to find himself in the middle of a rabble at the end of it all? And for what itâs worth, Jordan Lewis is getting absolutely roasted on social media (by non-MFC supporters, mind you) for his negative comments about Trac showing that kind of emotion.

Time to go Goody?
Heâs been in the box all season so far. Probably because he needs to be better across what Jonesy is doing up there. That aside, I refuse to indulge the rest of your argument, except to say that yes, Goodwin is trying his hardest. And thatâs the problem.

Thanks for the response Andy. Hmmm, I wonder if people who own a twatter account donât have the same issue. Anyway, donât go to any lengths to appease that company, if thatâs whatâs required.

Sorry, not suggesting you go away for our benefit. Iâm just saying that if I were of your mindset Iâd probably stay away from here for my own sanity.

Time to go Goody?
âBoringâ is one word for it, I guess. Macca, might I kindly suggest that if youâre so vehemently of the opinion that Goodwin is not the problem (or at least a significant part of it) then this thread might not be for you?

If you believe that history repeats, then going by our current trajectory it will be Langford and Lindsay as âco-captainsâ.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Gold Coast
The loss of Gus Brayshaw can never be understated. His on-field presence was enormous. Non-stop vocal encouragement and support, and crucially, he was very good at it. Bright guy and got his messages across eloquently and sharply. Would simply not have allowed as many hung heads during the game as we saw last Saturday. The club is sorely lacking in that kind of energy (dare I say, âvibeâ) now, and itâs no coincidence that it noticeably plummeted, and has yet to recover, since the poor guy was taken off the ground. Max, we know, has always possessed those same qualities but I canât help but think heâs feeling lonely out there without Gus.

Time to go Goody?
From where I sat, all I saw was an average team being allowed to live out their fantasies courtesy of another team who couldnât hit any targets and were constantly caught flat-footed. Very little about the Roos impressed me, quite a lot about the Demons depressed me.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs North Melbourne
Sluggish, uninspired and almost depressed-looking team out there today. Roos fans in the crowd were asking who Chandler was all game. He was the only player they noticed, as we were otherwise invisible. As much as weâd like to hope the Roos are some kind of surprise package this year, they arenât. Still plenty they need to fix and a lot of it was on display today. And yet they beat us by 59 points. So much to dislike about what happened. Set shots were a disaster. JVR, Langdon, Sharp, Fritsch all missing absolute gimmes. Players totally lacking spatial awareness and moving like treacle under the pump, constantly choosing the wrong option or butchering the right ones. This was definitely a game for Campbell. Gawn needs cover. That team looked genuinely uninspired out there, and I believe that a lot of that is down to an uninspiring coach. I donât question his commitment or intent. I do believe he takes the job with all the seriousness and dedication it requires. But I have thought for a long time now that he lacks the ability to inspire with his words, and the emotional/psychological nous to get the best out of his players, and to work with coaching staff/press etc. And at times like this, those kinds of skills are crucial. I fear that weâre really in for it this year, and it will be a new coach next year or sooner.

Melbourne FC App Issues
Mainframe is overloaded in response to the âDemons supporters are patheticâ thread.

Indeed, there is. And its decidedly average.

Melbourne FC App Issues
Anybody else having issues signing in to the Demons app to get their tickets? When I get to the Demons/Ticketmaster sign-in page, none of the tabs work and it just displays an âOops, something went wrongâ page. Have deleted and reinstalled the app. No joy.

Harley Reid
I have no idea how people post videos/photos/gifs to this site (the data-size allowance is ridiculously small). But Iâd like to post a three second clip of Reidâs antics yesterday. Any suggestions welcome.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
AJ really impressed. Wouldâve been a bundle of nerves today, as mature age recruits from the VFL donât have the luxury of time to prove their worth, and a poor game from him wouldnât have been as easy to overlook as one of the youngsters. Now that he knows he can well and truly handle himself out there, I expect him to have a bit of fun with it. Great get from our recruiters.
