  1. For me, it’s because of our form since defeating the Cats back in RD 8. Since then we’ve had a total of four wins - three of which were against lowly teams - Saints, Roos (which we nearly lost) and Weagles. And if Essendon are indeed the pretenders so many label them as, then basically not one “scalp” since the beginning of May. The tightness of the AFL ladder this year flatters many, including us. We may Bradbury our way into the eight this year, but if I’m honest, I think I’d rather see a bunch of early surgeries and an extra few weeks of pre-season than we’ve been afforded in recent years.
  2. You pretty much named it already. Reductive reasoning.
  3. Kev, you mentioned you’re overseas. Are you in the mountains of Tibet by any chance?
  4. I’m mates with their Head of Operations. Trying to think of the perfect text message that will completely derail them. Any suggestions welcome.
  5. Poor Zag. Let’s face it, they were both tarnished by the same brush. I got home from a night out and decided to watch the ‘21 GF (it’s been a while). This guy (pictured) always cracks me up. Is he on DL?
  6. Keays was immense. You’d love to have him in your team. Did anyone notice him coming off the ground with a minute to go and just start walking down into the rooms? He wasn’t injured. It was more like “Ok you guys just finish it off, I’m gonna try and beat the crowds.” Stone cold.
  7. Sparrow’s not going to be the sub.
  8. Crows getting stiffed by the umps. Thilthorpe moves like a mule in a vat of molasses.
  9. Thank you AFL for creating a “discussion” around every single hard tackle in a game. “Wow Richo do you think he’ll get pinged for that?” ”Nah geez, I mean, dunno Brian”. X 20, each round.
  10. Loved our game last weekend but this Essendon team is not a “scalp”.
  11. I get a feeling Clarry is going to play a big one this Saturday. Can see an incline in his energy/fitness, but just as importantly, I think that gammy hand of his is healing. At the very least, I believe he’s put the worst behind him for a long time.
  12. Sparrow - Twenty Pressure Acts The highest were ANB and Chandler with 22 (not exactly “limited involvement”), but Sparrow is consistently high in this stat. I think Goodwin has him playing a pretty unglamorous role this year, and I’m sure the coaches aren’t as down on him as a few posters have been lately. Oh and also worth mentioning, the other player in the top four for pressure acts was Harrison Petty, also with 20.
  13. I’ve seen “capitulation” written a few times and don’t get it. Bombers threw all they could at us in those last minutes, as any decent team should.
  14. Srsly though, McVee, Turner, JvR, Windsor, Moniz-Wakefield and Kolt…. The future is bright.
  15. Moniz-Wakefield? [censored] yeah.
  16. Judd McVee was huge.
  17. Best win of the year for me. Our young players are guns. There is a future.
  18. I kept my mouth shut. Proof was in the pudding. And by [censored], was that a tasty pudding.
  19. Let’s do this Demons. Pressure has been immense tonight. Keep it up.
  20. Where was Bowey’s pressure then??
  21. Come on man. Footy’s no fun with that attitude.
  22. That “mark” that Kos got the 50m penalty for was from an 8m kick. Sorry I know that was ages ago but I’m still fuming.
  23. It’s heartening to see Geelong finally have some success after their tragic downfall and gruelling three-week rebuild. But maybe that does tell you something. Do I dare keep hope alive?
