  1. Yeah, the selectors have a real pickle here. Two key forwards, currently in a race to the bottom. It’s going to be very difficult to give one the necessary game-time and instil the necessary confidence, without neglecting the other.
  2. I mean, he dropped five marks. It’s safe to say he was not instructed to do that. I really don’t think we need to start making such excuses for our under-performers. There’s no way Sam would have been satisfied with his game on Friday, so we just have to hope that both he and BBB are doing all the necessary soul-searching it takes to find their form.
  3. It’s a strange saying that one. If you were to ever witness a storm in a teacup it would actually be a big [censored] deal.
  4. He's been doing a lot of personal training with his own agility coach, off the clock.
  5. That was the precise moment my positive vibes for Weid took a major dip.
  6. Yeah I was probably a bit harsh on Weid earlier. Combination of being a bit cranky about this particular lockdown and perhaps enjoying a couple too many celebratory drinks last night. Agreed, he looks better on paper than Brown, but I guess overall I’m not comparing him to another under-performing player, but holding him to a higher standard. And what Brown will always have over Weid is that he’s a proven gun, and just needs to be reignited. But I’m now willing to stick with Weid for longer than just one round ?. That was last night’s seventh wine talking.
  7. For every one of those marks there was a dropped one. And since when has "6 disposals" been something worth typing out? Look, of course I want to see him succeed, but it's his lack of pressure-acts that get me fuming. He either doesn't have any leg-speed or cannot be bothered employing it at times when he has a genuine chance of running down or at the very least, being an obstacle to his opponent. Clangers happen, but applying pressure is something player has a choice in doing and he needs to choose to apply more.
  8. Weideman was rubbish for 90% of the match last night. He'll no doubt get offered another chance against the Lions, but another game like that and he's trade bait as far as I'm concerned. So tired of waiting for him to "break out". It's been years now FFS. As for Langdon (and my doesn't it hurt to have him out for even just one week), somebody has to match his work rate and the only player who really could is our best gut-runner, Nibbler.
  9. Been working in defence. He was BOG for Casey last week and a dead cert for selection soon, but I'm not sure he matches our needs right now. Edit: the suggestions that he takes the spot of either Rivers or Hunt so they can run the wing is one I could def get behind.

If Ed is feeling ok to play next weekend shave his head, cover him in tats and call him ā€œNathan Jonesā€.
  11. Yeah it’s hard to pick THE most in this current squad, but he’s easily in the mix.
  12. Concussion for Langdon? Damn!
  13. Shellacking the Tigers then thumping the Dogs! Does that make us giant-killers? No. IT MAKES US GIANTS!
  14. Weideman was extremely lucky not to give away that free kick. What is he doing out there?
  15. I think you’re being pretty generous suggesting that five dropped marks is a good thing.
  16. To his credit, he nearly got a goal with that handball.
  17. Hey, it turns out we can replace Sam Weideman with.....nobody. And we still go alright.
  18. Are we certain we won’t be getting the 70s-sitcom-style ā€œcrowdā€ tonight?

Will they be dusting off the old ā€œcrowd noiseā€ button for this one?

Agreed. There are many more legitimate criticisms that can be levelled at him than this.

What would have been an idea (months ago) was to put stranded citizens in ā€œhotā€ countries on a form of jobkeeper from a distance. The majority of people who needed to return were stuck for financial reasons. Keep them there, but keep them financially supported.

Oh no, didn’t take it that way. But the comparison of fully-vaccinated Americans vs Australians really does serve to illustrate just how inept the government has been at both rolling the vaccine out, and getting the messaging right. And of course our ever-degrading media have been dreadful with their insatiable appetite for content. This blood-clot narrative is on them. I’m not suggesting blood-clots don’t occur (extremely infrequently) due to the vaccine, but when was the last time you saw a news story/article about clots relating to the contraceptive pill? You simply don’t, because it’s not ā€œinterestingā€ enough, even though the risk is significantly higher. I could go on about this, at times, pathetically apathetic country and it’s so-called ā€œleadershipā€... Excuse my spleen. For a bunch of personal reasons, this particular lockdown has timed even worse than the other ones and I am fuming today. Better to try and stay away from comment boxes...

The comparison was against fully-vaccinated Americans.

Dude, we are at 2%. Yes, you read that right.
  25. Depends how dodgy his ankle is. ANB is the team’s best runner, and should be able to stick with the little bugger all day. Anyway, if Salem is unfit then it’s gotta be Lockhart (not Bowey) who replaces Jetta.
