It’s almost like counter intel and counter counter intel, everyone’s tight lipped and feeding so much disinformation or at the very least, not enough information to draw conclusions upon. It’ll be almost impossible to determine who will line up Rd.1, but I suspect Ablett and Danger to be there - regardless, I think we still have the depth!

I suppose we can now stack up a suitable forward line and backline to match the likely opposition now. Some weeks frost and Omac will be in, other times Garlett and Harmes will be out. We really do have a nice luxury at the moment. So the question is, based on Geelongs B22, which players stack up to exploit them?

To be honest, despite the 1st quarter, I’m not as confident as I’d like to be about Rd.1. Plenty of work to do over the next few weeks. (I just hope that the no risks policy was the dees being allowed to take the foot off the accelerator to save some juice).

I really liked the pressure chain that Fritsch set up prior to Oliver’s goal. At each pass, Saints had slightly less time to dispose because of other pressure acts, resulting in a turn over!

If you broke it down, there’s actually a few ‘weighting factors’ to take into consideration since the 70’s 80’s 90’s and 00’s - because the game has changed! -Experience (major factor) -Game Plan (major factor) -Team Dynamics (major factor) -Athletic Ability (major factor) -Technical Execution (major factor) There’s probably others to list, but just look at these elements alone. Let’s look at Vince, Lewis and Jones for example (all of which I love). There’s no doubt that their experience has counted for plenty over the years and certainly in recent times, but rarely have we won off the back of that element alone. In today’s modern and high paced game, athletic ability, the actual game plan, the teams (everyone gets a lick of the ice cream) cohesion and the technical execution in my mind, at least, have far more importance than the number of individuals who have 100+. Absolutely nothing story, sorry Blighty, but Hunts (inexperienced) torp into the wind was better!!!

So if you register with Telstra from the AFL website, you pay only $5 or so a week/month (can’t remember the frequency) and you can watch every game, and more importantly dees games, as often as you like! but as I understand it Deemania, you have Foxtel so you’re sorted!

Being interstate, I gladly pay $5.00 for the web replays so I can watch the game a few times over. If I was in Melbourne, I’d be paying to see it live, so not a bad deal. Unfortunately, the 24 hour delay sucks, but it’s better than nothing!
