Express Yourself
Uniforms are funny things, they let you focus on everything else but yourself. They let you identify with your team mates, they let you think that putting the greater good above ones own interests is more important, they galvanise the collective will and they equalise stature, allowing those who are new to recognise the privilege to be wearing the colours. But don’t believe the hype about uniforms stemming individuality, I’ve witnessed some of the most wonderful Aussie Larrikin characters truly flourish whilst wearing a uniform, mostly because it is harder to get noticed when you look the same as everyone else. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad, but the last thing a uniform does is stymie individuality..

Out Best 22 Imports
Yeah true, but Vince really made the inertia real, and introduced a style of play that the Dees could be proud of!

Herald Sun 2019 Predictions
Despite the hype, I’d just love to see us hold our own (top 4) until Lever comes back in! To stop the sieve of our backbone last year, and then rocket forward! ?

Fritsch Raring to Go
As with any new player, he’s primed for a 2nd year drought. But my gut feeling is that he’ll continue on quietly as a largely underrated contributor, to which he will ultimately be recognised when he gets the nod in this years finals series! Go for it you good thing you!!!

JLT 01: vs Richmond ... a Hot one
Take the immediate heat away from the issue and they’ll be operating at a higher density altitude than they’re used to .. I.e. they’ll be effectively playing at a higher altitude, slightly starved of the usual oxygen concentration that they’re used to.. Nothing an EFC “supplement injection” or two couldn’t fix..

Most Heartwarming Win?
So many there, but one special game that comes to mind is one that we lost. A few years ago we gained Burnie Vince. I still loved the way that we played when Dangerfield was taken for ‘a weekend at Burnies’, to the point where Danger was dragged and was visibly upset. I thought that particular game was a real turning point for our modern play-style. When the chips were down, we gained respect by showing a relentless style of play, all inspired by BV! Not a win, but still burns in my memory and with a big smile ? made me proud!

Can’t wait for the new Land Rover Defender (Jag yeah?)

Opposition Watch: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
First hit out for the season.. both teams would need to iron out some wrinkles, and get used to a new set of rules if anything - I hope I can get down for Rd 1! But, Port do have a team of champions right?

Impact of rule changes
The more I think about it, the more it appears that the combination of a dominant ruck punching forward and long to an uncontested and lightening fast lead receiver from the fwd line will benefit us. As others have said, maybe this might be a new light for Garlett, to contribute to our i50’s, to our (also fast) TMAC on the lead as a set play? Maxy might need a glove if he’s going to be punching long and forward regularly!

Round 1 team 2019
@picket fence thats actually a great looking team. Just need to swap Garlett with Spargo. Spargo provides excellent forward pressure, and has a cool head in congestion

Crystal Ball 2019: Predictions for next season
My 2019 predictions: 1. KK is encouraged to don the helmet after being knocked out in his second appearance in what could only be described as ‘a flight of fancy’ speccy attempt gone wrong.. 2. Whilst Adelaide’s internal cultures woes continue to plague them, they improve moderately by end of year. Unfortunately though, Melbourne thump them again by more than 50 points... Big Tex is seen crying... 3. By end of season, Clarry will have been approached by a delegation from NASA, MIT and Harvard who are furiously trying to understand how he continuously defies the laws of physics with his phone-booth footy approach. 4. Gary Pert attempts to initiate a coup from Collingwood to acquire Weidemann, only to find that Jacko threatens to knock his block off again! Pert concedes... 5. In another semi-final against the cats, both Gaz and Selwood again succumb to the prowess of Viney’s left and right biceps who are now affectionately referred to by Melbourne supporters as “assault and battery”, respectively.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
To be fair, I’m really happy for the lad. Yes he’ll likely not ever reach the potential that we hoped he would for us, as he won’t for Freo. But if he does, I’m ok with it as Freo need all the help they can get! My major concerns were that 1. He couldn’t kick beyond 40m consistently and slot a goal, and 2. His body language and resultant performance lacked professionalism. Noting his very difficult time over the past few years, 2. Could be forgiven, but deep down 1. Was the one that truly had me concerned and I now place my forward hopes in TMAC and Weed. Later buddy, good luck with it, hope you get the most out of being west-side..

Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
Well... such a great win, plenty of heat and I was so proud that the boys got to the “stars” in numbers and held them to account for their indiscretions- Ablett you weak [censored], Selwood you weak [censored], and danger you emotionally weak individual... ever since Vince gave him a lesson, he’s never been able to deal with Melbourne pressure. (Thank you Vince for exposing this weakness). The boys stood up for each other tonight, I’m so glad I flew down, what a great win! Be afraid Hawks!!!
- Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?

Bernie Vince Retires
The smiling assassin. Absolute legend of a bloke. Will be missed, but his legacy lives on in a club that has now become tougher, more fierce and more respected due to his efforts on field. The weekend at Bernie’s on Dangerfield has to have been one of the most satisfying games I’ve ever seen. He really gave our players a social licence to back themselves in and make themselves accountable. Best of luck Bernie!

Andrew Gaff
Dolla fitty- I’d still bring him in (in round 5)
-
Andrew Gaff
One question to ask is this: Can we afford not to get Gaff? I.e. can we handle another team getting him instead? I would argue that the answer is no, and I’d keep everything on the table until at such time, any prospective deal doesn’t benefit us in totality.

Andrew Gaff
That was the response I expected, I love Hoges, just being silly!

Andrew Gaff
Dare I say it? Hogan -> Gaff???
