Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
Well... such a great win, plenty of heat and I was so proud that the boys got to the “stars” in numbers and held them to account for their indiscretions- Ablett you weak [censored], Selwood you weak [censored], and danger you emotionally weak individual... ever since Vince gave him a lesson, he’s never been able to deal with Melbourne pressure. (Thank you Vince for exposing this weakness). The boys stood up for each other tonight, I’m so glad I flew down, what a great win! Be afraid Hawks!!!
- Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?

Bernie Vince Retires
The smiling assassin. Absolute legend of a bloke. Will be missed, but his legacy lives on in a club that has now become tougher, more fierce and more respected due to his efforts on field. The weekend at Bernie’s on Dangerfield has to have been one of the most satisfying games I’ve ever seen. He really gave our players a social licence to back themselves in and make themselves accountable. Best of luck Bernie!

Andrew Gaff
Dolla fitty- I’d still bring him in (in round 5)

Andrew Gaff
One question to ask is this: Can we afford not to get Gaff? I.e. can we handle another team getting him instead? I would argue that the answer is no, and I’d keep everything on the table until at such time, any prospective deal doesn’t benefit us in totality.

Andrew Gaff
That was the response I expected, I love Hoges, just being silly!

Andrew Gaff
Dare I say it? Hogan -> Gaff???

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Yep agree, it’s nice to see a post with some serious thought put into it too!

Darwin game dumped
I think the Alice is a great environment for us to retain! The 'heart of the nation' concept bodes well also, allowing us to celebrate the indigenous involvement of our game which is important. 1. Retain Alice 2. Remove Darwin..

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
If the proposal comes to be, I think PJ will go down as one of Melbourne's greatest leaders in history. There may be room for a 'PJ Wing' if he pulls it off! As a kid, I always asked my Dad why Richmond's oval is 'right there', and last weekend at the QB match, walking past it after coming off the Richmond station, scooting past the Cricketer's Arms, and crossing Punt Road, gave me an uncomfortable feeling. (Although, maybe it was the two drunken Collingwood fans that stammered in unintelligibly 'crissed as a picket' language, "carn' the wood, you'll be lucky to win Dees fans" - and, only to be correct...) So, maybe it was that which made me uncomfortable? (Nevertheless, I did respond by stating audibly that I still have my front teeth..!) Ok, I digress... I think it would be amazing if we had a home ground, so close to the hallowed turf, on my favourite side of the 'G'! Fingers are definitely crossed...

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
I know... a little self-indulgent but, BUMP!

Just signed up, yes the adds suck, but this community (despite some characteristics) keeps bringing me back! Go Dees!!!

Adelaide’s Tom Lynch
True, but we could force the market price up with speculation to allow other teams cap-out with a clapped-out sort... ?

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
Your views are noted, appreciate the discussion WTM! I guess the context I considered was that they were closely recruited as two players that played together and both had different paths at AFL level. My observation was that despite both being “of the same ilk” that they’re markedly different and both shown development in different areas of the game. Most here have highlighted their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the day, naturally I’m so happy we have them both, but one appears to have a more “mature approach” that has demonstrated sustained development whilst the other has a capacity, yet is still stuck in 2nd gear as other observers have noted. With both firing at full strength, with Clarry, Viney the Double-Mac and others in support, we’ll definitely produce noteworthy performances! Go Dees!!!

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
Ok, so we saw Gus play his best game ever whilst largely watching an average game from Trac. What I saw from Gus: - many second efforts and continuous pressure - beautiful awareness around Gawns taps - calm in the storm when being contested - penetrating and accurate i50’s - a great tank of fuel What I’ve seen from Trac: - unassailable ability to hold ground when contested - aerial superiority - moderate tank Put the last two seasons behind, but I’m getting the sense that Gus is more developed or well-rounded than the Trac.. So glad he’s over the concussions, couldn’t be more happier for the lad after that game!!! Thoughts?

Retro gear
Whilst I like the crazy eyes from the 80s, I really like the current design, I’m embracing it!

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
A little of topic, but has next years draw been finalised? 4 games in 18 days really broke us... with Lever in now, we might have freed up some depth. How many games did we win without Watts during his injury towards the end of the year?

Good point, would've made the difference in 2017...

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Dunn was better than Frawley, nevertheless, neither were within their prime to hold a spot today, to me that is:..

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Good call, all part of the brand, well done MFC. This also potentially sends a message to future recruits (Sloane anyone?). Just hoping Viney Snr takes Sloane out for a beer with Bernie over the summer to touch base
