  1. The idea of being able to purchase just your teams' matches as a package, or even being able to purchase single matches as a pay per view arrangement would be gold. I would gladly be extorted for that.
  2. Gee I just assumed he was because he was given odds. Shame on me for trusting Sportsbet. Looks like he turned 21 on the 6th December so might be 3 weeks too old. Will have to look into it further when I haven’t had a Sunday sesh.
  3. Currently a juicy $51 for rising star. If: A) he gets a game and B) he plays like that every week, could be the value bet of the year. Most likely kidding myself but surely a tenner on him wouldn’t hurt?
  4. And I can also confirm there were $5 full strength cans. And with under 2000 people there you didn't even have to line up! Pretty disappointing crowd, particularly since the weather ended up being fine.
  5. I was at the game. Rocked up in jeans and a jacket and ended up sweating and getting a sunburnt face, classic Hobart. Quite windy but not as bad as the two roster matches over the last couple of seasons. I was watching Oscar closely, his body work in the one on ones was very good, his decision making and execution were also good, apart from one handpass that was picked off and they scored from it. Bugg stood out, as did ANB and Harmes. Lever was very instructional, especially when we had the ball locked in our F50, he was organising the backs. Stretch is a running machine, but didn't have a huge impact. All day we just looked a few levels above the opposition, which is a nice change for us demons supporters. Even when they bounced back in the second, you could just tell it wasn't really going to be a contest in the end. Really enjoyed Hibbered making Waite look stupid in the final quarter. That bloke is a gun and I'm stoked we have him.
  6. That first one when we lost by a kick and Lindsay &@&$ Thomas of all people made the spoil that stopped us having a shot after the siren. That was torture.
  7. Can confirm it is pizzing down in Hobart city at the moment, and from all reports once the rain clears the wind will start up. Bloody typical, it’s hardly rained all summer and aside from last week the weather has been sensational, and every time melbourne come down it’s terrible. Anyway I’ll be in the can bar drinking $12 mid strength beers. Go dees!
  8. Add Hogan to the list of injury free. Huge names there.
  9. Pizz poor analysis. He is right about one thing though, I don't trust them (yet) to win a game that really needs winning. Really hope that changes this year. If we lose to North in Rd 3 I'll be about as annoyed as I was in round 23 last year.
  10. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/footy-18-mark-robinson-and-david-king-preview-melbournes-2018-season/news-story/2a69509b047bebdaba0ce9164350342e Everyone's favorite journo Robbo has us missing the 8 again. While King would be 'staggered' if we didn't make it. Both agree that the fitness of Gawn, Viney and Hogan will be pivotal in determining how we go. I'd love to hear what everyone's crystal balls are telling them about 2018 in terms of where we and others will finish this year.
  11. Vince should sacrifice his season and take Elliot out of the game. Killing us. Nothing against Bernie, he'd just know how to get it done.
  12. If we make the finals, give me Port in Adelaide over Swans in Sydney any day of the week.
  13. About the 18:55 minute mark if anyone wants to see it.
  14. This kid is now 5th for total disposals, 2nd for contested possessions, 5th for clearances, 10th for centre clearances and 3rd for tackles for the entire competition. (Source - afl.com.au/stats) Completely absurd for someone in their second season who only turned 20 a few weeks ago. Seems to be flying under the radar of most supporters and experts alike, I wonder if his 'dive' has taken the gloss off the most complete second year I've seen from any player I can remember. Or does his high handball/kick ratio make him a bit less flashy and eye catching? Regardless, he is as important as anyone in the team now and I love him. I remember a lot of supporters hit the roof when we drafted him ahead of Parish. I'm sure Parish will be a gun but for now it looks like a great decision.
  15. Exactly. Minimise the damage against the wind.
  16. Perfect conditions presently. Quite still, sun is trying to come out but pretty cold. Expect the wind to come up later. Hopefully we get a few posting from the ground closer to game time.
  17. I wish I had some of the confidence displayed by other DL users. I guess I'm just scarred by the 10 years of losses to these pricks. Very hopeful of a win but I reckon it will be close all day.
  18. North have a decent following down here, plus a lot of the neutral supporters support north because they are the 'home' side and have a decent presence in Hobart. We love our footy down here so a lot of neutrals go to games just because it's afl being played in Hobart. Ben Brown is Tasmanian so the locals love him. Typically my dees are playing in my home town and I have to bloody work. Last year the Melbourne members area behind the point post in he southern stand was a great spot to sit, plenty of Melbourne supporters (obviously) and a great atmosphere. My recommendation or clothing (in order of putting it on) would be thermal, t-shirt, windcheater, jacket, raincoat, then your Melbourne jumper over the top of your raincoat. Although it won't be as bad as the richmond vs north game here on a Friday night in June last year. Whoever scheduled that needed a kick up the backside. That was as cold as a game of football gets. I'm talking cold eyeballs cold. If you can get your hands on a Tasmanian tuxedo (puffer jacket), then do it! Might be reasonable at the beginning of a game but come full time it will be very cold. Shame about the forecast rain, I reckon that will bring the two teams closer together. Hope all the travellers have a good time down here and go dees!
  19. Anywhere this year with some demons colours on. Apparently we are all bandwagoners and "coming out of the woodwork".
  20. How was Oliver looking today? There were mentions of him looking a bit ginger after the game on Saturday (no pun intended).
  21. Might have been the J Selwood- style shoulder shrug involved, But it was Nev. One way to get the MFC faithful offside is to rip Nev's head off then give him a spray. Like someone picking on your first born.
