  1. Defensive transition. They are waltzing it up the field every time they get it. Also, when Cam Guthrie can go from the centre bounce breaking tackles and kicking goals you know you are battling. Need to fix that if we are any chance to get back into.
  2. Roaming Brian makes me laugh just watching the people in the background trying to avoid him.
  3. Don’t like to feed the rumour mill but a mate of mine in Geelong just had an mri and GAJ came in and sat down next to him. Maybe just confirming the tear as healed? Why would a player be getting scans a few days out from a match? Hopefully someone might have a better idea than me if this is something that normally haplens or not. Regardless, despite Geelong’s midfield advantage (if the two superstars play), they can’t penetrate our defence and our half forward line runs amok and we win by 2-3 goals. Gawn 3 votes. Go dees.
  4. He’s still a chance. I think there are some people at our club, myself included, that would like to be definitive now,” Scott said on Fox Footy’s AFL 360. “I guess it’s a good sign in terms of his recovery that we’re not in a position where we can say, ‘look he’s not playing, but we think he might be right for next week or the week after’. “He’s going well in his own mind and doesn’t want to rule it out. I think that’s a really good sign for Round 2 and 3 in particular. “I think more and more clubs are realising that it’s best to resist the temptation to see Round 1 as the finish line; we’ve got to take a bit more of a longer view.” That was Scott on Danger. Makes me feel he's more unlikely than likely.
  5. Has anyone seen him close up in person? I haven't, I'd love to know how big he looks up close.
  6. Spot on. One game that was overshadowed by the debacle of Round 23 was the Brisbane game. We were flogging them, took the foot off the pedal and ended up scraping home. If we kept the foot on the throat, we played finals, simple as that. Hopefully those memories are still fresh in the minds of the players, and they don't switch off for long periods.
  7. The BOM will say there's a chance of a shower even if that chance is the same as the chances of Mark Neeld getting his old job back. Wouldn't pay any attention to it this early in the week.
  8. And all teams (particular the lower ranked teams) will think they're a real chance against us and bring their best. The North Melbournes, Brisbanes, Carltons. We need to smash these teams off the park so they don't get their confidence up when they play us. They always seem to be 'on' against us because they know we are gettable. That needs to change before we are a real threat. Hopefully this year!
  9. "Only Adelaide, Port Adelaide and Sydney won more quarters than the Demons" Goes to show how much those lapses in games really hurt us! At times we really looked like a top 4 team, at others we looked like a bottom 4 team. Hopefully we can bridge that gap and get some consistency.
  10. Reaching fever pitch. Bring on Sunday, can't wait to see how we actually go, rather than how every man and his dog thinks we will go.
  11. Perhaps he wasn't expecting contact and was preparing to jump for the ball? I can't remember the details exactly. But watching the ruck contests he was able to hold his ground very well. I can't see the lighter frame having a huge negative impact. Once he gets his timing back in a couple of weeks I fully expect him to recapture the marking form of 2016. It'll come.
  12. Yeah I saw that one. I thought (hoped) he might have been playing for a free kick in that contest.
  13. I was watching closely for any evidence of this in the JLT, and thought Max held his ground very well, against a couple of big units in Goldstein and Hickey. Even when Max held the best position and the opposition ruckman hit him at pace to knock him out of the way, he stood his ground very well and won a lot more hitouts than he lost. His ability to stay on the park is huge for us, probably our most important player IMO.
  14. Never had a serious run in but goodness me I've heard some nonsense from oppo supports in my time.
  15. That was refreshing. People actually expressing opinions instead of just ripping into each other like on every Facebook post you read lately.
  16. GEELONG superstar Patrick Dangerfield will miss the season opener after tweaking his hamstring early in the Cats final pre-season hitout. - Scott Gullan
  17. Now I'm hearing slight calf from some Geelong supporting friends. Best off waiting for the official report I guess! The rumour mill is in overdrive.
  18. Suspected foot injury according to the AFL Update. Can't speak for the reliability of this source.
  19. Mate, sorry for the generalisation, but opposition supporters are a pack of dogs, that's why I'm stoked to have chosen the Demons, where our supporters are all class, cheese boards and Range Rovers. There almost needs to be a thread on 'things opposition supporters have done to p!ss me off'. I'm sure we'd all have a story or two like this, perhaps not one involving a family member though. Wishing Dec a speedy recovery.
  20. Interesting stat, Port have kicked 12 straight in the second half. Must be some kind of record.
  21. I know its only a JLT match but did he ever kick 6 in any form for us?
