Changes: Rd 05 v St. Kilda
Very risky decision if that is the case.

Worried
...and OMac replaced with someone hungry...

Changes: Rd 05 v St. Kilda
Gotta be OMac for Petty, Keilty, anyone else?

Changes: Rd 05 v St. Kilda
Nah, ANB already kicks better than Greg Parke, just nowhere near as good at marking.

Changes: Rd 05 v St. Kilda
Spargo did some great 'rover' work against the Swans. Make no mistake about that despite a few fluffs and fumbles in that game. He is showing opportunity teamwork, generally kicking intelligently and well; a few more games and we have Johnny Townsend on our hands, again. Possibly - but I am prepared to watch, analyse his play and wait.

Changes: Rd 05 v St. Kilda
Very tempting, it surely will produce confidence and form.

Changes: Rd 05 v St. Kilda
At least Keilty will have 'a go' repeatedly, closely, quickly and more thoroughly until the clearance is completed on each occasion.

My 3 word player analysis V Sydney
Fully agree - Frosty with the full backline minus OMac - great combination.

Sam Weideman + contract
Good players fight back in the pursuit of making something of themselves, contributing 'big-time' to their team as often as required. This is more than doing your best/putting in the effort. It is a transformation and at 21 years, in a fourth season, it is not too great an expectation - particularly if you were considered to carry a footballing heritage and the associated lineage potentials. A club can remain tolerant for only so long.
-
Sam Weideman + contract
Such negotiations then, would collapse - on performances, how far downwards can a Club go in the remuneration realm?

Kobe Farmer
Thanks for that. Oversight as I knew a 'Jay' many years ago. OOOPS!

Kobe Farmer
This article indicates great things for the MFC, as we all await the ascension of the sons of some of our best ever players. We are currently aware of some of these (eg: Jay and Jack Viney, Steve and Billy Stretch, etc - and there are many that could be mentioned) but the present prognosis and into the short-term future is even more exciting. Names that come to mind do include Farmer, Schwartz, White, etc). Golly, if only!

Demonland Fact-Check
Partiality and tokenism - of course, in hindsight, the umpire was wrong for this scenario.

Demonland Fact-Check
Pre-ordained outcome. Cheats and low-life.

Oskar Baker
Not sure that one could agree on this prescription for Baker's readiness. Surely it would be a matter of pulling up well first, after his injured hamstring is more reliable. JD recommends a baptism of fire - throw him into the side and see how he dog paddles; this, perhaps, makes sense - he has had a long time in the wings of tolerant waiting. Most reports on his Casey roles have been encouraging, as well. We need pace. He may be a great handballer if kicking is sloppy. He may click. Others, better known, have not clicked and many of us are tiring of their continued selection for no improvement.

Who will the Demons target next?
Someone mould us another CHFwd like Neitz, the Ox, and while you're at it, we really need an agile tall utility who can ruck assist whilst running hard, all game. A Peter Moore-type. If these cannot be manufactured, I'd settle for a Greg Wells duplicate seeing that a Tulip cannot ever occur again.

Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
It is an insulting embarrassment that the MFC are the team who cannot do any worse this season.
-
Who will the Demons target next?
How about putting aside the money we might be expected to separate with for another player, using it for some intense and specialist coaching for those to whom we have issued jumpers and large salaries? There are many skills to be learned, many deficiencies to overcome, many candidates for such a process from the backline to the forward line.

Sam Weideman + contract
Tick. Correct, again.

Sam Weideman + contract
I would have hoped that the Weed would be on a performance-based contract - he is there to kick goals and he ain't got none, yet. He is not worth that amount. Preuss could do it all for him and then some with a little practice. Weid is not in the league of Jacovich, Lyon, Schwarta, Bennett or even Whacko Jacko who in relative terms did bigger things for lesser amounts, more often. I, for one, don't think we need him that much if we could settle our game style and use the current crop of players more wisely at selection.

Speed algorhythm - Uncontested Possession
Here is one consequence that I would like to see as a result of recruiting Lewis: He immediately becomes one of the FD coaches and not a player. Imagine the tactical knowledge and skills he could develop in our 'young brigade'.
-
Speed algorhythm - Uncontested Possession
So correct and so essential to our success but it ain't happening - others say it is not part of the modern game. Good, it will be surprising if that is the case....and profitable on the scorecard.

OUR FUTURE TEAM
When it comes to OMac, this post hits the nail on the head - leakage machine, absolutely no problems for any forward, in any team.
-
OUR FUTURE TEAM
Now we're talking. This is the 'Demon Dream Team' that I dreamt about since our loss to WCoast last year. It still has talented blokes competing at the VFL level, getting ready to play a role as a substitute when injuries occur. It will also be indicative of the type of skillset that is needed in order to play for our AFL team. Like this, very much and hope our waiting time is not too long. One player that I have in mind to shake 'em, that will produce, is Keilty.

Speed algorhythm - Uncontested Possession
Interesting and not too far-fetched; kind of agree. His pace is remarkable - he actually ran down two Port players last Saturday when the opportunity arose and created a teammate possession from nothing. He also ran directly (once) into trouble and could not change direction with the ball - a weakness, yes, but at least he had the ball and game-time will enable better disposal in this function; at least he got the ball by moving into space very quickly which is always a good deal better than what OMac (the experiment) is regularly failing to achieve. Frosty makes 'time' for the team downfield - disposal options and skills will come.
