There is that chance, as he can take on most of his size and a few of greater speed. He does have his polarity organised when it comes to that of the ball. There must be another couple of Seniors trials for him for experience, confidence and in the temporary elimination of those not actually performing, wouldn't you think?

A few selector - recruiter regionals might assist; those who are capable of all-round player assessments matched against the needs of the current game.

The Oooze has been bubbling along in a coach's rack nicely for a while now. Maybe, with Jordan Lewis for experience and footy smarts, a team of the two could assist the FD overall.
  4. It appears that across the board, our coaching staff do not seem to self-reflect, self-evaluate, speak their minds and actions, nor bring out the individual and team understandings of role, functions and execution because surely, BH Hawks just cannot be that good? We know, already, that Port and Essendon were not that good, either! Geelong - always ready for anything at this time of the year. Seems as though the MFC 'steam engine for the rest of the season' theory has run out of water!
  5. All of this is a coaching issue rather than a player issue, surely?
  6. This side has a few hidden secrets ... thus, reports of the game would be phantastique. Like the competition that we have with Box Hill Hawks, so it will be disclosing on quite a few Casey Dees that we are most probably all thinking about as nearing-form, in-form.

Sam does take them at the apex of hands in his leap which is a strength but this does not mean that he is a pack-marking surety. However, if he could lead, almost randomly, it means that the in-comings directed at him do not need to always be in front/or chest height bullets; these in-comings could well be elevated to a reasonable extent and his vertical reach may well surprise instead of running under the bombed ball that is devoid of all intent. In packs, he is much better as a 'side-entry sprawler' with a few preparatory paces - an attribute that he used to good effect in the finals and in earlier games.

    Sad, meaningful and true.
  9. It is a dilemma that we are currently (injuries, form) facing and the potential for amelioration of the now chronic faults, errors and misjudgements are stronger with Frost than OMac, and Tom must find some form, as well. The relief from panic assistance rendered by HIbberd and Jetta down back to cover and support '...he who leaks on the field each week, then piddles off as if nothing was his responsibility...' will also be a refreshing addition to our clearance efficiency. Keilty and Petty are two that one could expect to make contributions with other assets, as well, to the Gawn overload. Just a few thoughts ....
  10. Yep, agree with this quite strongly. Frost is: 3rd banana stuff due to pace (and disposal is not as sick as people in defence of OMac in the past have suggested). Clearance machine in waiting for Lever and May, and Jetta and Salem. Add Keilty up back as another intercept to balance Lever (with opportunities for flanking entries by both of them and we are in town! Spot left for Petty as backline utility, as well. Releases some of the midfielders to stop penetrating so often into backmen's territory and as a result, enables them to penetrate closer to the forwards for less 'distance' bombs and more 'eyes-up', controlled short-passing whilst still playing chaos on the flanks and through the two wings. Makes good sense to me in comparison to what we have seen since.
  11. That is the best alternative, dazzle.
  12. The 'avoid impact' at all costs and the running out of the zone as soon as teammates arrive to take the blame/provide support by leaving their own zone and/or opponents to assist in a crisis and then appear to be responsible for the error - after the fact - for a stuff-up or failure have always been characteristic OMac on the field. Long sentence and description, but a long journey for teammates with no end in sight.
  13. Our contributions to the Club, outside of words, are enormous. Maybe our words are the best gift that we can present, after all. Everything else is ignored. The banner could state the facts as these are seen by the supporters, the general footballing public and the Club members. Somehow, we seem to be out of control, rabid and full of expectation to be heard now that Pert is in the chair. Maybe not?
  14. We used to laugh (sadly) at the courage (lack of) of Gysberts. Oscar is a greater chicken and always has been with the MFC.
  15. Frost has had to join the throng backing and supporting the errors of OMac, his tendency to run away from and often, behind his opponent. That, to my eye, totals: Jetta, Hibberd and now Frost playing two opponents in one-on-ones, and up to six opponents in the congestion of an active backline. Frost was terrible, as a result. Frosty is a HB Flanker, has been asked to play CHB and usually does reasonably well (not against Essendrug). The noose around the MFC tied and held by TMac that he ain't going to play unless OMac is also in the side should be tested and ended. TMac is a fullback but is waning as forward, in general. Both could go elsewhere to another club without any loss. Whatever the case of brotherly interest over team interest, OMac has to go. He is a chicken and a shirker in our footy club; I have never seen him do otherwise, week in, week out across the last few years. OMac is the hole in the dam wall; his leakage is catastrophic for the team and for the rest of the backline. He actually runs away from the contest and never provides in-close support to playmakers. Petty, Keilty, the return of Lever, the just backline roles of Nev and Hibberd combined with May and Salem are the future, starting with such a line-up next week using Frosty as the CHB until the tastier items return from injury.
  16. It's not even half time against the Dons and OMac has leaked 5 times - 5 goals to the Dons. Demons losing badly. Get him out of our team.
  17. Yep, the application of a little muscle should take care of their backmen. We must create space and avenues for the smalls, up forward. Bombing must be 'booed' by our fans to get the message through. It must start with the cheer squad up the 2 quarters deep forward.
  18. Fair assumptions, fair calls.
  19. Poor old Bill Clinton. Lewinsky was an administrative aide. After a horrible dinner in which food poisoning was experienced by his guests, Clinton found the first aide he could that night, and yelled: 'Sack my cook! Immediately!' ......and that's how the whole thing started ... watch out Robbo, could be your turn, next.
  20. Another example of the uneven surface of the AFL playing field. Well raised.
  21. Y'know, Swimmer, I also thought that the Wagners were go-ers, as well. It will be good to see them tonight, launching at the ball...
  22. MFCSS is a soothing picket fence for disappointments as these may arise (as a result of being a Dees supporter). There is just a small gap between palings on that fence to allow the sunlight to shine through, making the rhododendrons bloom in brilliant colours - so don't take it away from us, will you? As for OMac, we should regard him as a giant slug, a wastrel in the garden killing the seedlings and emerging flower heads. Proof? Just look at the form and exhaustion of Hibberd and Jetta trying to cover for him.

Thanks for that. Oversight as I knew a 'Jay' many years ago. OOOPS!

This article indicates great things for the MFC, as we all await the ascension of the sons of some of our best ever players. We are currently aware of some of these (eg: Jay and Jack Viney, Steve and Billy Stretch, etc - and there are many that could be mentioned) but the present prognosis and into the short-term future is even more exciting. Names that come to mind do include Farmer, Schwartz, White, etc). Golly, if only!
